Dear Anon (Hidden for Privacy),
1. Yes, I understand what you mean. As this concept of a cube saves space but lacks privacy for the four parties.
2. I believe, it will take sometime for you to get used to this concept.
In my country, even large companies that has space constraints use the 5 feet by 5 feet work top, in your `cubicle' formation.
3. The only advise, here is not to place a rectangle or square table in the centre of this cube such that there are 4 pointer corners aimed at the back of each person. A circle table is still acceptable.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

I work in an office with an "Open Architecture". This means that all the cubes are VERY open and we sit with our backs toward the opening of the cube. They even play white noise so that we can't hear each other because of the openness. There is no way to move around in the cube to change which direction I face. I put a mirror up on the monitor so that I can see behind me. I originally had colored glass beads hanging up behind me because having my back open made me really uncomfortable. They made me take the beads down and replaced them with a black and white screen. Granted now something is behind me but I am still very uncomfortable. I try sit in between the bends of the screen. My cube and I both face a northeast direction. I am female born june 25th 1965.
Any and all suggestions would be welcome. I like my job but have been very unhappy with it since we moved to this new architecture.
Thank You!
