Usually, when we mention + shape, we generally consider it as a building rather than as a single apartment. Usually as a building, each unit is at the end of the `corridor'. The centre-point is usually where the lifts and staircase are. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Joe, In general, we should consider Yin Feng Shui as having a different "ruleset". What I mean is that all (or most) books that you purchase are usually based on Yang Feng Shui. Yin rulesets are quite different from Yang Feng Shui. For example, the Feng Shui ruler has a measurement for the living (Yang FS) and a different set of measurement for the dead (Yin FS). In Yin FS, a FS practioner will usually do a FS assessment of the gravesite. For example, he/she will use a Chinese Luopan. Place it in the middle and even use a long string to get the correct measurements to check the alignment on the Chinese Luopan to ensure that he/she get the right ausicious direction fo…

Dear Anon, Havingred roof tilesis acceptable. As it is close to the orange or clay tiles we commonly see on a roof. When we have a red roof tiles, it does not really mean that the roof is totally considered as a fire house. This is because of other interactions e.g. the colour of the exterior walls. For example, if the colours of the exterior walls are white: Then under the destructive cycle of the Five elements concept, white = metal element. And here, fire is used to destroy fire. The end result is the production of "wealth." Thus,it is acceptable to have red roof with white exterior. In a second example, what happens if the exterior walls are cream or beige or yel…

I just realized that every house has both good and bad directions. I will say that my 'spook' direction, which is for me in my sw direction, has sent me to the hospital 3 times! I won't spend anytime in that room! Ever. My goal is to move some day. But not possible now. So, there must be a way to shift the energy in a room when it is in the BAD direction, and the bed can't be placed in a good direction without making a very strange design choice. My closets and doorway are in my best direction...SE. v>I think maybe I should go with what you told someone else... don't worry about it? Thing is, it has been a struggle for me ever since I moved in, mostly to establish wha…

These are some considerations: 1. In general, kitchen is located at NW = "Fire at Heaven's gate". One way to reduce the incidence is to introduce "earth and water" in the kitchen. 1.1. Try to check where is the true cardinal point of NW. And closest to this area, can introduce : pottery / glass-ware or any thing that is made from earth e.g. mugs in cabinets, near to this area. And another method is to introduce e.g. 2 x 1.5 clear water containers e.g. on the table top especially if the stove is at NW.

I believe there are a few viewpoints: 1. I am not here to create a religious " row " between Christians and Catholics but let me elaborate what Catholics `believe' and how some Protestants see differently. Catholics mentioned that they have statues of e.g. Mary, mother of Jesus not because of idol worship but as a respect and `inspiration' to them. By the way, I am a free thinker. However, I attended Primary, Secondary and Pre University in a Catholic School. When I was in Secondary School, I always come across a few teachers who passed by the statue of Mary outside our school hall. They would stand there and pause to collect their taughts. They do not use jost sticks to…

Dear Anon, In traditional Feng Shui, here are the following considerations for the main entrance door:- 1. It is not advisable to have an opened window above the main entrance door. 2. A proper main entrance door should be `solid' and Qi should not be made to come in above the window above the main entrance door. 3. In such a situation, the remedy is quite simple i.e. not to open the window above the main entrance. 4. Some FS Masters would even argue that under the "commonsence approach", a window e.g. without grilles could easily invite a thief to drop by. Although this is not Feng Shui but this is one reason given by some FS Masters. Other considerations: The main door …

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm looking atbuying a house and themain door opens out to a split door, is it "harmful" for the ones staying in the house? Is there a cure ? Generally, if you open your door and anything that cuts or split in your house, this is considered inauspicious. As it is normally a form or sha qi or poison arrow. This means this wall/split will cut right into your house. Typical way to resolve is try to block it. Probably like having at least gate with has half the height covered. Or even having some partition inside your house just after you enter into the door. Or last resort may be to use a ba gua to reflect the problem, but this may lead to bagua…

This question is similar to the concept found under this recent reply:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=24209&new= Quote: Katrina L. wrote: Hello Master Lee, For 2009, the West is afflicted with the flying star #2 sickness star. My bedroom is located in the East. When I lay down in bed, my head is pointed to the West because it's a good direction for me. Upon reading your response to a related post, you said that when it comes to flying stars, the focus should be the location of the flying stars and not the facing direction. In that case, is it still okay for me that when I am in bed, that my head is pointed towards the West e…

Dear Anon, For this year, if possible (not just the 7th month) avoid painting at North-West sector or the Gand Duke of Jupiter's location. For example, he does not like people to touch (e.g. avoid painting) or disturb him (e.g. avoid drilling or renovations) at this sector. If possible, also avoid painting at West or the yearly #5 sector for this year. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I am thinking of re-painting the whole house. Is there any constraints like 7th month cannot do painting? Can we paint the ceiling for the tasui room for this year? Will re-painting our house give us luck? Thanks in advance for your answer.

1.1 For your convenience, you may like to go thru some of these links:- 1.2 This link has detailed resources of what makes a good water feature as well as an understanding of many of the issues with a water feature:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/What_makes_a_good_Water_feature/_fountain 2. Often, if a water feature has been placed at the wrong location, it may lead to roving eyes of either one of the partner. (Flower of romace or illicit relationship). The correction is as follows:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Roving_Eyes_or_Infidelity

Hi, I believe or in my opinion, this dwells in superstition than Feng Shui. There is no mention of this in Feng Shui. Perhaps in a `grand mother's tale:) *JOKE* Cecil

Dear Anon, Nntp Guest wrote: My living room is a west room and all walls are currently painted white. The room is too white, especially the West wall, which is the largest wall (quite large). I want to paint it and was hoping to paint it red -- is this a big no-no? What color should I use? The safest colour or most neutral colours to use is always white. This is because white is Metal. And most sectors that requirecorrection in flying star often requires theuse of Metal. So it is the safest colour to propose or suggest wheneverwe have no idea or do notwant to consider the flying stars. Bright Red(Fire) orBright Yellow (Earth) colours should always be avoid when you…

These are some considerations:- 1. In traditional Feng Shui, a standard sized fish tank e.g. 4ft by 2f is placed at the window often if there is an external arrow such as a lone lamp post directly facing that window. 2. In theory and on paper, a fish tank or even a fish bowl can be used under Flying Star to help reduce the 5 2 9 sector. 2.1. However, where possible, such a fish tank should only be placed in "open spaces" e.g. such as a living room and not within a room e.g. bedroom. 2.2. Usually, with such 5 2 9 sector, expect a higher incidence of the fishes sacrificing themselves for YOU. Anonymous wrote: Dear Mr Cecil, We've placed a small fish tank on our bay window …

Dear Tonja, Based on the many cases we have found: 1. Some people are `ok' with having mirrors even in the bedroom i.e. they can sleep comfortably. In such cases and if one do not want to do anything, this is generally acceptable. 2. For others, they may have problems with their sleep or want to avoid having mirrored closets, I have offered a few suggestions in this forum. Some of the suggestions are: 1. You can place posters (stick) them on the closet doors. Usually, this is a `temporary' solution as you may need to replace either the posters or if the stickers drop or sag, you need to `renew' the posters. 2. You can purchase an opaque film or ask a contractor to place s…

Dear Anon, Usually from the frontage of the house, both sides (left and right) should be balanced. So far, I seldom have ever come across a house where (from the frontage) it looks unbalanced at either side unless it is a large building. If so, this should not be a factor. It is not correct to say that the tiger side gets `stronger' than the dragon side. The only factor is that it is ideal condition if the dragon and tiger embrance i.e. Dragon is usually taller and tiger shorter. It can be a hill or landmark (true dragon /tiger) or a false dragon or tiger such such a road etc... Usually, the shape and form of a building should be "whole" and not of odd shape especially i…

Dear Pam, Frankly, whether which is better, will depend on which chart will better fit the house. For example, if you have double 8 at the main door or facing direction, obviously this would be most ideal. But if your double 8 occur in the toilet location, then it isn't as beneficial. Same goes for the sum of ten. If the sum of ten occurs at a main door or facing direction, obviously this will be good. If both occur at the best location, then probably double 8 would be better as this is the reigning period 8 so it is the best stars to have at the frontage. Sum of Ten would not be as good as a double 8. But as mentioned, these beneficial stars must occur at the righ…

1. Usually, the most common method to determine whether it could be used at that sector is thru the 20 Year Flying Star chart. 2. For example: if the main entrance area has nasty stars like:- 2.1 #5 and/or #2 and/or with #9 then RED will further inflame either #5 (misfortune/sickness) or #2 (sickness) 2.2 On the other hand, if the sector has #3 or even #4; RED would be good at that sector. 3. "Rule-of-thumb" method: some just ignore what I had mentioned above - and go for it......

Dear Anon, As each situation differs, one must be physically at the site to access individually. It is very hard to give a general statement for such situations. I hope you understand that it is thus difficult for me to comment on. Warmest Regards, Cecil
