Dear Anon, Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, so long as the frontage or the "head" portion of a house is not "chopped-off" to be re-renovated. For example, for some homes, the owners left the back part of the home intact but started to built a new front of the home. If so, it is still best to demolish the entire home and start from fresh again. Generally without looking into the finer details, how squarish or rectangular or how odd shaped the property is, all these will affect the final outcome as to whether we should "join" back the house. If it is just adding back walls that were previously knocked out, in general, if done properly, it may be acceptable to do so. …

Good afternoon, will you please tell me whether the main door and a centre of a house have a same importance in feng shui. In general, if the house is built in period 8 and there are two choices between the facing direction of the house (NE or SE) which one is more auspicious? Do the birth dates of all occupants need to be taken in account or just the birth date of the head of the family? Thank you. Stella

Dear Mr Lee, We recently bought an executive mainsionette at Bukit Batok area. We just realised that our main door, stove location and bed clash with our personal kua. My fiance and myself are under kua '8' born on 1983 and 1984 - SE, N, E and NE is our inauspicious direction. Main door facing is SE (151deg) - taken from I was standinginside the house (after the door)facing out the main door. Stove location (stove knob) is either at north (so that the cook can see other person entering the kitchen) or east (the cook's back will face kitchen door). Bed location (bed head board) faces east. Is there a cure for this ? Thanks so much for the advice. We are looking forwa…

Further to what I had mentioned; these are some other considerations:- 1. In many instances; the colour of the exterior walls is dependent on external factors. 1.1. For example, in past forum messages; someone mentioned that his/her home is next to a cemetry. 1.2. In such a situation; often, a geomancer would recommend RED colour as the most yang colour on the walls facing the cemetry. Some cleverly use "natural" red brick walls that never need to be painted over. 2. Thus the above is a sterling example of the colour of the exterior of the wall has to be looked at in relation to the surrounding. 3. Myths:- 3.1. In the 1960s to 1980's and even today; some geomancers unfor…

If we are talking about painting a home. Do not forget that large areas where colours are used may include: 1. Curtains or blinds(living & all rooms that have a window). 2. Bed-sheets (bedrooms). The above are possibilities. As it is much easier to change the bed-sheets and even curtains vs painting the walls.

In my opinion, it is best not to look at the facing direction on a "piece-meal" basis" only. Recently, I had posted a "checklist" of activities that is based on important Feng Shui concepts:- 1.1 For example, your home should also start with how and where the drainage of your home drains out of your home. In all homes, usually there are two or three drainage-out of your home that conveys Wealth and Power and Authority for those staying in the home. Other exits of drainage may lead to poverty etc... 1.2 In addition, an East facing home usually will be "bathed" by sunlight in the morning and the area behind can be affectd by afternoon sun. Considerations of the bedroom,…

Majority of homes at Cul-De-Sac; don't have such a configuration as mentioned, below; or else; based on the book of Yang Zhia Shi Shu; how one places one's home in relation to other homes can affect health or even leading to death... Enclosed please find a picture of a house where death would occur twice. This is based on the book Yang Zhai Shi Shu http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=2701&new= Therefore, many people prefer to play safe and buy homes that are in uniform rows that don't meander or be in a cul-de-sac. Just imagine, in some cul-de-sac homes, there can be similar layout as shown in the above URL! This is an actual case…

Dear Cecil, My brother owns a beautiful East facing house which he wants to sell to me. I'm a strong water, and East is wood. From the elemental view, that's good, but I haven't bought the house because East is also my death direction. If I'm a renter instead of an owner, will I still be affected by the death direction?

Hi, 1. Have you generated your Free Eight House Template. If not, you can follow the steps shown under this url: http://www.geomancy.net/house1.htm or go to www.geomancy-online.com to generate a free computerized report. The main consideration after you had generated the Eight House Template is where possible use a transparency. `Combine' the two of your Eight House Template on the transparency. To be distinct, use two different colour pens to write down each of your good and bad intangible influence. Here what you should do next:- 1. Find the centrepoint of each layout plan. 2. Superimpose the template on any house layout plan you are looking at. (aligned to the North So…

Dear Yang Ming, Usually most house plans have both the individual layout plans and more importantly the site/plot plans. Most of the site/plot plans will have the North-South orientation. Here, we can use a protractor to measure the inclination of the house i.e. North/South -- East/West and then superimpose this grid to the layout plan. Here, one can orientate the individual layout plan to this larger site/plot plan. We can then have a `rough' or if done correctly a good `estimate' of the compass direction e.g. the main entrance door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Avinash, Please refer to the attachment - file: layouta.gif You should take a compass reading at location A (looking at) point B. Once you determine the compass direction from A to B, you can then input the direction on a copy of a layout plan. With a protractor, you should then align it to the compass direction. For example, under layoutb.gif, if the main door is at 0 degrees, then you can add in the other compass directions. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Julie, Frankly, there are lots of consideration in Feng Shui: 1. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. This is the most important consideration when picking a future house. For example, even if a direction is good to a breadwinner but if the Shapes and Forms is `lousy', it is as good as not finding a good home. 2. For homes that are more suited to you, you can try to use the Eight House Theory or find out more on how to use it:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm 3. For a plot of land, it is detrimental to make the house suit one e.g. by having the main door facing e.g. a hill - even if this is the most suitable door direction. This may bring calamity to the family. The ho…

Further to what I had mentioned, because the wall behind the stove is not flat, and under certain conditions: 1. windy day 2. a window or window(s) close-by to the stove 3. open windows It may result in air-circulating behind the stove, blowing air against the flames towards the person standing at the stove. - Quite dangerous. Please see illustration.....

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'am planning to buy a house, which direction of the front door suit me the best, and in what postition is the master bedroom In order to answer that question, you will need to know what element you belong to and what is your 4 good and 4 bad direction. To get that answer use this free report to check out that is your element based on your date of birth:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm You want to choose a house that faces one of your 4 good direction (ie longevity/health/excellent/prosperity). You should avoid having a house facing Death or Disaster which are to be avoided at all cost if possible. The …

Dear Gary, 1. Please click the attachment for the "centrepoint" of the apartment and facing direction. 2. In order to Fly to Period 8, in addition to painting the ceiling, one also MUST have several (2 or more) celebrations in the home, also. Warmest Regards, Cecil Gary Thay wrote: Dear Master Robert Lee 1. I have painted all the ceiling of my house since 2004 and now is 2005. Does that mean my house Qi has convert to period 8 ? 2. These are some considerations:- 1. You can generate the Eight House report to check on How suitable this house is to usually the male breadwinner under this Free link:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-suitablehouse.htm 2. For DIY, frankly, you have to do more reading and if possible apply both the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui as well as the Flying Star Feng Shui.

Dear Theresa, It would be good if you can provide a `sketch' and send as an attachment to this forum for me to take a look at it. As mentioned, it would be best to provide a sketch (in proportion) as it is difficult for me to comment on the above. Apologies.. I am not too clear on this. Determining the frontage of the house is important here. Some houses, may have the frontage facing the `back' of the house. Usually, if this is the back of the house, it is best to have a wall or fence (bushes) to protect the back of the home. It would be good to have the house protected on each side and particularly advantages if it can be like a horseshoe effect. Warmest…

Dear Steven In reality, one should consider the entrance towards the home even if the frontage seems to be the North. At your `second' level, the entrance to your home should be the location of the door. In my opinion, it should still be South. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Please note that your question is a "very common" thing! For example, under the Eight Mansions (8 House) there are 4 good and 4 bad directions. 2. If we apply mathemathics, 1/ 8 or one-eight probability that a home may have one's death or disaster at the frontage and equal probability in one's bedroom! 3. Frankly, in the Eight Mansion's sense, no one will die from it! Unless our mind takes over.. i.e. too intense auto suggestion and self-fullfilling prophecy -- takes over!) 4. Please search for a very recent reply (just a few days ago) on the same subject. 5. You may search for terms like: Maximising marks and The Three-Step approach. 6. In my opinon, all these "…

Dear Angelina, Under the Eight House theory: 1. Determine who is the breadwinner (or the person who brings back the most money.) If the earnings is nearly the same, then preference is for the breadwinner to be the (male) husband of the house. 2. It is best to find the most suitable house for the breadwinner. The most suitable house is `Excellent' sector at the main entrance. The main entrance can also be the three other good sectors e.g. Prosperity, Health and Longevity. 3. For the other spouse; try find a house where it is good for say the husband under para 2. and for the wife, it can be other intangible forces such as `spook' or `irritation' at the main entrance. 4. …
