1. In general, traditionally the Chinese 7th month (especially) certain days is considered auspicious. Nowadays, just because the Chinese 7th "Ghost" month happens to be in the 7th month, many thus construe that it is not an auspicious period. 2. For other races e.g. Indians, they have their own "7th month" which is not in the Chinese 7th month. 3. Overall, we read about many, many Chinese in China getting married on this "auspicious sounding" date. Thus many seem to think it is a good date

Hi Bharat Mayani, Generally, your problem here is regarding door facing each other. Well, generally for such situation most of the only cures you can use is really to put a bagua on the door. However, personally what exactly are problems you have with your current situation? Is it that you often have conflicts with your neighbour? It looks to me like the neighbour is basically not around most of the time. So what other problems are you actually facing? If there is nothing, then basically nothing much to worry about. There is a saying that goes if nothing is broken do not try to fix it. If you facing problems with areas such as financial or sickness then, you should look …

Dear Patricia, The best on can do here is to use plants/bushes along the fence to screen from the neighbour. Plants are the best resort in this situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. If one wants to try to concieve, but unable to, Feng Shui can be used to aid in this attainment. 2. Frankly, for those who have limited knowlege and want to DIY to achieve above, will really have to be on par with a professional Feng Shui consultant's knowlege. 3. Again, let me remind users that this is a Free GENERAL advice forum and not a Free SpecificFeng Shui Consultation forum. It is so easy to give dates of birth and .... wait for an answer to drop down from? Quote: Anonymous wrote: We plan to paint our home ( present it is dry white). What color shade can we paint so that it welcomes a new born who is yet to concieve.

Dear John, In my opinion, statues are more like decorative pieces and dwell on beliefs rather than Feng Shui. If one looks at beliefs, normally, it is placed firstly as a decoration at a location you personally feel comfortable with. Some Chinese family run (small) shops do tend to display either a figurine of it in their shops or just a picture of it. In my opinion, you can `play safe' by following the `standard' Chinese beliefs: 1. Do not place it in your bed room. As a bedroom is considered a `dirty' place i.e. you take off your clothes to change etc... 2. Do not place it on the same wall as the toilet. 3. Do not place it side by side with other Chinese deities such as…

Dear Betsie, Do check out this page: http://www.geomancy.net/polls/ And check out this poll: Are you comfortable sleeping facing a TV set (mirror)? A short simple 3 questions survey. I indicated that there is no right or wrong answers to this. Some of us feel perfectly normal with a mirror in the bedroom (e.g. facing the bed) while others may feel uncomfortable. Do check the feedback from other uses on this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, I not gone thru based on Eight House (good facing direction). However, please see below for my comments:- Based on your second description here, option 1 is preferred. As an overhead cabinet is not favourable for two reasons: 1. It acts more like a supression (beam). 2. If one notice carefully, usually the edge or corner of the overhead cabinet may act as a poison arrow towards the body of a person. Usually, if there are space constraints, option 1 is preferred. It would be a bonus if the direction you face is good or nice to have (under Eight House concept). For personal self, one can see how to incorporate the colours in daily dressing. Objects placed…

Dear Sophia, 1. 6 (SIX) represents "big metal" and this is why, it is commonly used as a "cure" to neutralise e.g. #2 (sickness) or #3 or #4 (bad wood - career, lawsuits, scandals, education, romance type of issues) 2. Since we are now under the influence of Period 8, there is now a surge of anything to do with the number 8. Previously, the phonetic sound of "8" is particulary very auspicious especially for the Cantonese dialect group. 3. But now, many would like to hear that 8 is a good or SUPPOSE to be a very auspicious number under Period 8. 4. However, if we stick purely to the academic line of the Flying Star School of Feng Shui:- 6 = metal element 8 = earth el…

Dear Sir, I am considering an entrance level flat in a P7 , NW2 5 storey building. There are 10 households and 5 levels above ground in the building. 1) Attached is the map of the area, building is right under the purple pin, with the pool to the right. I understand this building should face a mountain form as a cure to it being an ''up mountain down water'' flat, There are bushes almost 2.5 meters outside the main entrance of the building- again in NW2. These are high so that my entrance level flat's living room windows which are in the same direction as the entrance , see nothing but these bushes. These bushes are not high as the building though, they would not be seen …

Dear Susan, Each house has to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. It depends on the distance of the house e.g. back of the house to the drop off point. And the gradient of this drop off point or slope. Overall, a large land has some advantages. Especially if the back is `spacious' or better off situation. In such a senario, if the proper `fencing' or ability to create a solid backing can be done, this can be acceptable. Therefore, no two houses are the same. It is best in most situations to create a `solid backing' at the back of the house and if possible avoid water positions. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, When I have the time, I will take pictures of some examples. Do take note that when I mentioned basin (apologies) it is not literally a basin but:- 1. The area is a natural area which is slightly lower than the roads or main roads leading to it. 2. Sometimes, the main roads have been `raised' a few metres higher. Or due to it's natural profile, roads or main roads are built on these higher ground. And houses within it is acessible at a lower level. 3. In some instances, yes, without proper irrigation and when there is an exceptionally high tide, places like " Opera estate " did e.g. once in 20 years had flooding problem. In recent years, the government had bui…

Anyway, if you do not know the best hours, then usually go for nice sounding ie 8.59am or 9.59am etc. The reason is because once a day is good, really it does not matter which hour you choose. All hours will generally favour you, only some hours better or less. However, the problem with some best hours that suit both pers…

Dear Elena, If you have not stayed at the house yet, you can get the contractor to paint the entire house. The `worse' effect is if one digs the ground at the Tai Sui's current location or knocks down the wall at the location. This is the main concerned as compared to painting the wall. I would go ahead to paint the entire house but (out of Chinese custom) avoid being at the location when the house/that sector has been painted. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Priority should be given to Flying Star Analysis rather than lessen the `irritation' of the Eight House Theory. The Eight House Theory offers no cure with respect to Feng Shui. 2. Either you sleep further away or stay away from that sector or use the spouse as a `shield'. For example, if that sector is his health sector, he sleeps closer to this intangible sector. 3. In any event, irritation is not as worse off as the `death or disaster sector'. 4. The better method of enhancing your room is not to just look at your personal element and enhance based on this but to look at both husband and wife's element and strength and find a `binding' combination i.e…

Dear Angeline, Under macro Feng Shui; for Singapore, which is located in the south, ideal colour of doors especially entrance doors is white or represent the metal element. For your case, I have seen the doors and felt that it is `minor' and in my opinion, will not have any effect on your family. As opposed to the headboard which is symbolic of sleeping in a tomb. Therefore, I personally feel that there is no issue and there is no need to paint the lovely `natural' wood coloured door(s). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Frankly, there is nothing one can do, this this are physical constraints. But make sure that you do not really sleep directly below the sewerage pipes or the toilet bowl. And the piping should be in good repair. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Mr Teng, Usually, this is considered as an issue but in an apartment as you had mentioned below, not possible to relocate it. For Feng Shui problems, often, there are two or more major flaws within a home to cause us problems. Thus on it's own, it is still acceptable. But if there are more issues in a home, it will add to the problems. Try to make sure that there are if possible, no other major issues in a home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sophia, What I meant is that one should not display 6-of-them on the same table or pair them up together. But rather, there is no major issue if they are not ALL figurines but if there is a picture of them and a set of three figurines. Thus I am talking about 2 sets of Fu, Luo & Shou. Much like identical twins : Fu Fu, Luo Luo & Shou Shou. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. In my opinion, it is very common especially for new couples to "conserve" their money and try not to overspent or worse, become so indebted even before carrying on a "new life". In fact, quite alot of couples I know previously, have kept some of the "unmoveable" fixtures such as what you had mentioned especially built in wardrope. 2. As mentioned above, money does not fall out of the sky! And often without money or savings or if we do have monetary problems between couples.. it is one of the leading cause of "separation" etc.. 3. Especially for the entire home, one of the best key successfactors is to definitely re-paint the entire home. 4. Prior to taking over the…

It is recommended that oneshould be convinced or at least find out which is more accurate. With this, discard the reading that was done differently. 1. Sorry to hear about it. 2. More importantly, the new burial site - if any is very important. However, if cremation - this is considered neutral. 3. Other than the above; what can change is one's earth luck: Feng Shui for the living (one's home Feng Shui and office Feng Shui are very important) factors.
