Dear Jon, For plants, it is acceptable to have plants in or outside the home. The important thing to remember are:- 1. Avoid having a lone large tree in the front of the house. 2. For plants, avoid too many plants at the North East (Devil's Gate), West (Yin location) and South West (Devil's Backdoor). The reason for the above is that too many plants especially large plants create too `yin' an environment. This may create an imbalance in the surrounding and attract `spirits' to stay at the location. Another point to note is to keep the plants `neat' and `trim'. For other locations, it is also good not to have too many plants concentrated at a location also. In your case,…

Dear Paris, Parc Oasis Site Plan 1. In my opinion, if the price is right, it may be considered. 2. From a Feng Shui point of view, these are "point" block units and relatively safe design. Majority of the units also has its main door coming into a "display" wall area - and not directly facing the window area. 3. Of course, the most attractive reason is due to it's close proxmity to the MRT (walking distance). And it is at the cross-road towards the start of PIE from Jurong Town Hall / and convenience to the business park as well as close proximity to IMM. A more popular or direct route would be to the ever busy or one of the busiest round-…

Dear Lawerence, Please click this link for reference on the Five Elements Concept:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm If you look carefully, there are two different diagrams:- a. Productive Cycle As you are considered as a Strong Fire person, therefore; your best "harmonious" elements are: Since you are already a STRONG fire person, it would do "injustice" if you add Wood to further inflame your fire element. Thus under the Productive cycle, as a strong fire person, you should look three steps forward i.e. Earth (Yellow, cream or beige) Metal (White or gold) Water (Blue, black or grey) I believe, at this stage you should be comfortable wit…

Another method of "testing" to see if a tree trunk or lamp post or other tall thin objects may pose as a poison arrow... This is most effective for any threats at (or to the) ground level premises. It is also good as a secondary check for higher floors as we can move our neck and have a quick glance to see if it does pose a threat to higher floors. For higher floors, your method is good; but do remember to stand immediately at the middle of the window facing outwards.. In this case, it should be looking from "B" towards "A".

These are some considerations: 1. Stove sharing wall with staircase 1.1 In my opinion; this has more to do with common sense then Feng Shui. 1.2 It has more to do with the concern that perhaps more fires start in the kitchen then elsewhere. More so, at the location of the stove. For example, forgot to turn off the stove or cooking half-way and forgot all about it... 1.3 And since the staircase / stairway is primarily the main means of EXIT from a fire from the upper floors; It can be blocked and worse still; heat transfers to the walls / falls near or at the stairs. Not forgetting smoke rising from the stairs "air-well. 2. Thus for the above reasons; it is best not to loc…

Dear Paris, Please see below:- If this intelligent child has good resources such as good family bonding and relatively good access to external (inputs), the child is sure to either top his class or futher pursue an excellent career in the near future. While a normal child, could perhaps be like drawing parallel to a normal home without a sum-of-ten. In both cases (in the above both the intelligent child and the normal child) has to interact with their external environment. And the key to the Flying star Feng shui is that it is not -static but is based on time-dimensions. This is akin to the parallel with the external environment. Thus it is good to have a sum-…

Yes, I have a graphic drawing under the reading materials showing that it is inauspicious to have a road behind the house. Usually, there are a few ways to neutralise this:- 1. It can be neutralised by having e.g. a bri ck wall or a fence with `privacy' screen or plants that `grow' on the fence. 2. Behind the fence if it is possible to grow some plants that one day become `bushes' that act as a screen. What we are trying to do is to symbolically use plants or if there is a brick wall to create a `solid backing' for the site. If the above is `done', this means that there is a protective backing behind the house even if you can view it at your first level, this is consider…

1. Frankly, this kind of layout is fairly common, nowadays. 2. One advantage is that there will not be a direct path between the main entrance towards a balcony or a window. 3. The main consideration for this type of layout plan are: 3.1 Never place a hanging water feature on the wall. 3.2 Avoid having a large piece or any mirror on this wall. 3.3 Avoid placing any posters within a glass frame. If glass frame is used, use the matt type or non reflective type.

Dear Kewpie, 1. It is very difficult to comment on the `generic' term, a townhouse. This is because, it also depends on the location it is sited, the plot of land holding the row of houses. The elevation, the front, the back areas in relation to Shapes and Form. 2. Personally, I have also purchased a townhouse unit, two years back and now it is nearly ready for occupation. What I did, to take advanage is, to looking at the Flying Star, using the Good House program which Robert specifically developed, mainly for our own use, to locate the best house amongst one of the town house. 3. We had an advantage because speed was essential in such a situation. We used our program t…

Dear Adeline / All, 1. Coming to the question of the toilet. 2. For those who are aware of the Chinese tradition, in the past, Chinese homes (landed property) do not have a toilet inside their home. Toilets are always away from the home. 3. Frankly, and logically, for an apartment or flat, there is not much one can do to remove the toilet from the centrepoint of a home. As we all know the plumbing is fixed. And it moves down from one level to the other. 4. This is considered ONE leak. And more often, where possible, there should be or to avoid if possible, MORE leaks. One leak can often be negated by other positive qi. But, if a home has more than 1 usually 2 or 3 major …

Dear Anon, To understand better, #2 is Strong Earth and #5 is Strong Earth. 2 is sickness and 5 is misfortune. Both combined is very inauspicious. In order to destroy this strong metal combination, ideally one should use Six coins as coins represent metal element and Six represents `Big metal'. A Feng Shui ruler made of copper can help but is considered less effective than six ancient coins particularly those with square holes. Which is a traditional Chinese coin. Ideally, one should use the traditional Chinese copper coin with a square hole at the centre is to ensure that the square gives strength from within to the Chinese `ancient' coins. For the copper ruler, it also…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Dear Sir, I would like to know whether 3 doors facing each other is a bad fengshui. The first door is a toilet door facing the bedroom door, & inside the bedroom is another toilet with the door facing the bedroom door. Would appreciate your advice. Generally, any door facing another door directly is usually inauspicious. Especially, if the two doors facing each other are close by and are bedrooms. This is because two occupants will not see eye-to-eye so may have quarrels. In this case, this is toilet facing bedroom so at least you won't have quarrels as it is not a bedroom so not really as bad. But still imagine if the toilet door…

We havemovedto a new place here in Dubai and I have a new layout for the studio. Can you please help us to layout based on feng shui? We can move or remove furniture based on your recommendations. Dear Elena, Please see below:- Although a U shaped house is not ideal but overall, it is still acceptable design. Yes, the addition can still be made six months after they move in. Please email to robert-lee@3dmail.com so that he can provide you with a free credit to generate the month auspicious date. Here, you need to obtain the breadwinner's date of birth (time optional) and if the month of reno is clear, use the report to find out a good date to start the renovation. The above looks ok to me. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Arthur, 1. In order to know which cure to use it is very important to determine whether a person is a weak or strong earth. 2. Geomancy.Net's calculation takes into account 4 main pillars (day, month, year and hour) plus House of Life and House of conception to determine your final element. 3. Here, based on how your elements combinations and clashes the proportion and changes in strength for the elements will affect whether you are a weak or strong earth person. 4. If you have used the Pillars of Destiny v8 and above to determine that you are a strong earth, then you are strong earth, as it takes into account many factors before coming to that conclusion. 5. For…

You can still use the proposed centrepoint and extend this to the family room. The rationale is because your "extended" room is tiny compared to larger spaces. However, if your "extended" room size is larger than 1,000 sq feet, then you can determine the centrepoint separately for this room.

Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: Thanks for the reply Master Lee. I am not very sure about the way to find out the 8 mansions direction for the bedrooms in my house. Could you tell me how to go about finding out the 8 mansions direction for the 2 bedrooms in my house, or can you direct me to an online resource for doing so? Simply find out where is the center of the house and North direction. Then with the eight house chart, simply superimpose the chart where the North direction is to the home. The sectors where the home falls under the Eight House will be the influence suitability of that sector for that person. This resource should be able to guide you on it:- URL: h…

Dear Anon, It is common to associate `white' with purity particularly with the west. Chinese in some ways do associate white or `straw' clothing where it is worn during funerals. So far, under Chinese customs or practises, fences are never painted white. Personally, I have yet to see a white fencing both locally or on my trips abroad. I believe this is certainly a `taboo' colour even for FS practioners. The most common colour as you have mentioned for a picket fence is green. Most fences I come across can also be in black. Hmm.. as far I can remember, I seldom see a blue fence. In my opinion, green or black is a "better" choice. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Felicia, Many Traditional Feng Shui Masters use the Pillars of Destiny to advise on the type of Company Logo to be used: 1. For a company for example, they look at the type of business. In my country, one local bank has a ancient coin in the middle of their logo and a circular purple background. The coin symbolises the Metal Element and Banking is considered a metal element. Here, what is done is to use Purple = Fire element to `destroy' the coin in the centre. The end result is to produce Wealth. 2. Many also take advantage of their personal element to create Logos for their proprietorship. For example, a weak Wood person actually used a wavy logo in green i.e. Wavy p…

Dear Wendy, Based on Feng Shui guidelines, there is a difference between `building' a house and finding a good date or year to build a house. Let me elaborate: You can usually find a good date in the year 2000 as there are 365 days in a year and even if it is in December 1999, you can still find a good date the next year. Another point is that Chinese New Year does not follow the English New year. For those who are very new to Feng Shui, please take note that when we discuss Chinese New Year, in short it is CNY or for this year Earth-Rabbit, Chinese New Year is from 16 Feb 1999 to 4 Feb 2000. Here you will notice that Chinese New Year 1999 only ends on 4th February 2000. …
