1. Snakes is prominent as one of the 12 creatures of the Chinese Zodiac sign. 2. Chinese myths both deplict it as both good and bad. 3. For many us, we sprinkle sulfur powder to deter snakes. Since your apartment is in the basement; it is a tendency of snakes to like cooler areas. 4. Perhaps, do get pest control people to help you deal with it. Julie G. wrote: Hi - I live in a basement apartment of a nice old 2-story home in verygood shape. Since last summer I have occasionally found a snake inmy stairwell near my door (my only entry point). This spring the snakeswere appearing much more frequently and on 2 occasions I found a snake in my bedroom. Lots was done to …

Some homes are like an unpolished gem. Some enhancement can do wonders to this home. But for some homes, the odds may be stacked against it. As no amount of enhancements can work. Such home often have more problem areas and instead of enhancements, one may have to use more Elastoplast (plaster) to fix up!

Hi, It is acceptable to have a coin in the mouth and this signifies a " close mouth. " As for the dragon figurine(s):- 1. The Dragon is considered the most Yang of all animals. 2. If one's main door falls under an inauspicious sector of the Eight House one can still use a pair of Dragons (one is still ok) aimed at the main door). 3. Where possible avoid using a Five Claw dragon as it is too yang for the home. It is best to use a four claw dragon. 4. So far, a dragon with an open mouth is acceptable. In fact most of the dragons have open mouth for them to `shoot' fire. Contrast this is a hungry tiger figurine which is inauspicious. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear Diane, Usually, the preferred location is in the living room. If it is placed in the living room, preference is not to raise it too high. If you have a separate room that can hold the aquarium it is equally fine. It is best not to place the aquarium behind the house or in a room behind the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

In my opinion, I believe that the flamingo is a cousin (or distant cousin) of the stock. For the Chinese, the stock signifies longevity.

Dear Donna, 1. Yes, based on your description, this is indeed a threat to your home. The test is to stand inside the house looking out of the main door. If you can see the threat coming, then it is a threat or poison arrow. 2. If there is a small roof or rain shelter at the frontage of your house you can use a 6 rod metal wind chime to neutralise it. Since most roofs are constructed with wood. And under the five elements concept: Metal can destroy wealth. 3. Alternatively, in the east or Far East, Ba Gua mirror is often placed above the main door to serve as a protection from these. You can do a SEARCH for the various types. Or go to the conference: Photo Tours of Interes…

This sample shows an actual Can or Cannot Buy comparison of two different units in two different condos. It so happens that the male breadwinner's Eight House chart is identical to the wife's chart. And this family is interested in two different units. And seeking advice as in which unit is better. An individual chart for each home has been done. But for confidentiality; it is not shown, here. I am only showing the Eight House sector by sector analysis of each unit.

Dear Randy, Apologise for the late response. Please read below:- Make sure it is not your death or disaster, which would cause ill health. If it is your death or disaster and you are facing problems or health problems, then it is better off to sleep parallel to the headboard. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

As I understand it a mirror in the bedroom is also bad because of the energyflow it may reflect on to the bed while you are sleeping. This I have gotten from master Lam Kam Chuen?s books witch almost i my only source of feng shui knowledge. While the chi energy flow is hard to prove it exist its the closest to a scientific explanation i know (I look quite scientific on feng shui myself).

Dear Susan, Most likely both of you are conscious about the the mirror above your bed. The best is to buy an opaque film, cut out the profile or outline, first. And if you know how to D.I.Y. simply, clean the mirror first, and then add a bit of soap into a spraying bottle, and spray the water onto the mirror. Once done, just paste the film and use a tool e.g. like a credit card or atm card to smooth the surface. (Do remember to use some cloth to collect the spilled water. Covering it with symbols, would often not help if the base (mirror has not being covered up). For the Chinese, the double happiness symbol can be used. But, since from your name, you are not a Chinese, …

Dear Carina, Please see below:- 1. Ideally, please check that it should not be in the North sector of the home. 2. Where possible the stove should face inwards i.e. face inwards of the main door. If the above are met, it is still considered acceptable. Usually, a small table, be it hexagon, square etc.. (coffee table) will not make an impact on the house. Usually, the table should not have a poison arrow aimed at e.g. the sofa. As for the Ba Gua table, its angle or 8 corners should not pose a problem as it is not like the corners of a rectangle or square table at 90 degrees angle. I assume that the beam must be a concrete beam. If you are staying in Singapor…

Bad Architectural Design: Erh.. Fire that bloody architect! In this development: Punggol Sapphire, Punggol Field Road, there are units where standing at the main door; one could see the shared or common bin. This common bin is where all the tenants in the same floor bring their litter to be thrown into this common bin. Based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, and symbolism; most people don't like to open their main door directly seeing the common bin.

Dear Anon, Further to what I had mentioned, the key to understanding Flying Star Feng Shui is that "one must not simply - only eat and sleep on this method". I often see, some FS practitioners get into heated arguments on Flying Star Feng Shui. Looking only within the four walls in the home. Often, what is most important is that Flying Star is but one of the many methods used. Further more, I personally find that what is most important is the external factors. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Annie, annie koh wrote: I would like to know the considerations to look into before I hang a family photo on the wall. Is it alright to hang it on a wall that faces the side of the Goddess of Mercy that I have on an altar and the photo also faces the storeroom? A family photo is a private and personal. It is often kept in your family album where possible. Even if you wish to blow up a picture to hang in your home, you also want to keep in private, so really the best location to place such family photo is in the privacy of your study room or even hall way for example. Small photos on table or desk etc is perfectly fine, but big photos that are hung say in the livin…

Edited by Robert: Combined similiar post together Dear Robert, Thank you for your reply. I have a clearer idea what to do for my stove in the kitchen now. However, im now more worried as u also mentioned: A. suitability of the house for the breadwinner B.favourable bedroom for breaswinner, etc i'm only owner and living alone with flatmate so i am main breadwinner. According to the personal analysis, i belong to the east group, my gua number is 9 and i'm a south house with N, E, SE and S as best directions. My main door faces SW [six killings] and my best bedrom in the flat lies in the NW [death for front of room]/ N [longevity for back of room near window]. A…

Dear Wasis, We live in a practical world and many of us should not be deprived of books (some of us loved so much). For `bookworms' or those who simply love books, would be surrounded by them. Therefore, the only practical advise is to keep them neatly.. it would be good to have them kept inside bookshelves. If one has open bookshelves, so much the better. Although it is said that books are like knives, I could try to avoid placing it facing the bed. If one's bedroom has sufficient room for the bed and a separate area for say the study area or small corner bookself, facing away from the bed, the better. Else, for many people, it is still acceptable here. Warmest Regards,…

Dear Alex, Please see below:- Most likely, in my opinion, one (a hobbist) is based on passion! And perhaps this could be part of our passion could be translated to Human or man luck factors. Such as feel satisfied, good factors. While perhaps someone who has been "force" or "told" to place a fish tank perhaps may not have such a passion. Therefore, for collectors or hobbist, I always feel that this is not as important.

Dear Ber, Please read below:- Thank you for your encouragement. Don't need to resent this mail. We have not forgotten it. It is just that we answer mails not based on the time it was sent but rather the content of the mails. If you really want to you may want to do a numerology for the date of birth, that should also give you some lucky numbers. You can download the Free Feng Shui Software from the website, there is a numerology software which analyses the natal number for you. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/software/index.htm Just remember to key in the Lunar Birth Date rather then the Solar Birth Date, as I have no time to put in the conversion module yet.…

Dear Angelina, For a 3 / 2 base 6:- Although there is a base 6 metal element. After it exhausts #3, it will become too weak to exhaust #2. Yes, you can add metal or a wind chime here. Do note that it would be `disasterous' to use a wind chime if it happens to be in the following combination:- with 2 / 3 base 6 For such a combination, quietness or stillness is required as this combination can result in " severe " quarrels even between family members and if left uncured may result in lawsuits even within family members. This combination is particulary worse if it is in the bedroom area. It is why, if in doubt i.e. for those who try to apply cures - use 6 coins instead. Be…

Dear James, Apologise for the late reply, this mail was apparently not sent to my e-mail account. Personally, I feel that there is actually no need to purchase special amulet or ornaments for yourself or your home. It is equally effective to use any simple remedy, so long as it suits your personal element. For example, if you are a weak water, then using metal (such as any necklace, etc) would bring you luck. So I feel that it is more important to suit and enhance your element rather then to believe in a special sort of ornaments. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Alan, You can find out more about how to get the main door direction using this illustrated link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm You need to first find the centrepoint of the house. And from this centrepoint; check the direction of the house i.e. stand at the centrepoint of the house and from that location; take a compass reading. This is where the direction of the house is determined. Warmest Regards, Cecil
