I have recently redecorated a small room in my house to be my personal space to relax, create, study and work. The room is in the south corner of the house so I used a fire theme in it with my favorite colors of red and purple. The ceiling to about halfway down the walls is a color called blessing (off white) and from there down I used a shiny pearlescent gold. We put in wood floors, a wood settee, a wood computer work station, a bamboo window treatment with a red scarf, red and purple cushions on the settee, and red, purple and gold candles. There is also a metal bookcase right behind me as I sit at the computer. I also have two large flower prints on the wall and one looks just like fire. I just recently started reading more about Feng Shui and started to get concerned that this room will do more harm to me than good. I read in one book that my year element is metal and fire is destructive to metal but on your site I am a weak earth element. I'm confused. There is also wood chair railing and baseboards fueling the fire. There is not much red in the rest of the house so I don't know if I would need to make changes or add cures. I am just so confused. I just can't figure out if this room is helpful or harmful. I wanted to add a red rug, some plants, and more "fire" decorations to this room but now I just don't know if I should start adding some "water" in here to cool it down a bit. Could you please help me figure out what to do next, this room is supposed to be my sanctuary not my hell?
