  1. Dear Sifu, I read Chapter 5: The Importance of the Five Element, but I am still confused about the productive and destructive cycle / relationships. I also remember Sifu Cecil saying in another post "Fire and Metal Clash" that the destructive cycle is about wealth creation, from which I quote: "Wood gets nurishment from the Earth and Fire produces Metal (Gold) " Does this mean that a Fire person will do well in a metal related business? eg scrap metal dealer, gold jewellery? I was told (by other consultants) that I am very heavy Metal and should go into WOOD related businesses. I now understand why they said that - METAL chops WOOD in the destructive cycle, just as FIRE melts METAL. I don't want to fight with heavenly destiny - if I can get involved in Wood-related biz, I would. But I have just been presented an opportunity in a WATER related biz. WATER and METAL are not directly related on the destructive cycle. But METAL produces WATER on the productive cycle (btw, if the Destructive cycle is about wealth creation, what is the practical application of the Productive cycle?) I also thought that since FIRE melts METAL, and WATER puts out FIRE, perhaps WATER is friendly to or even good for METAL. Sifu, can you please comment on this line of reasoning? Am I stretching the logic a bit too much? Can I work backwards on the Destructive Cycle? I wouldn't like to fall into the trap of Auto-sugggestion. Thank you very much and KUNG HEI FATT (TAI) CHOY
  2. Dear Sifu, My house is a 3-storey semi-d, nearly square in shape,no missing parts or major protrusions. It is almost a perfect fit onto a standard 9-sector grid. My concern is that the centre of the house is taken up by the staircase linking the 3 floors. The stairwell has 3 walls and not much natural light. I am going to do some renovations this year (period 8) to capture auspicious flying stars in my main door south sector. If I get it right, I should have double 8 in the south sector & MS 4 and WS 3 in the central sector. My gua is #3 & south is my prosperity direction. {{Unfortunately, I can't have a main door in the East (my excellent direction) because I'm joined to my neighbour at the East wall.}} Is there anything wrong with the staircase in that position? Would it help if I opened some windows in the stairwell walls?
  3. I have a north south aligned house. I plan to renovate this year is convert it to a period 8 house. My main door is generally in the south sector on the luopan grid. I understand that there are 3 subsectors within each major sector. And using your fabulour calculator, I found that if my new main door is in the 2nd or 3rd subsector, I will have double 8 in the south sector, with a base number 3. This sounds absolutely great & I'm all excited about this. However, how do I ensure that the main door falls within the 2nd or 3rd sub-sectors? Is it the direction that the main door faces? Or do I draw a pakua from the centre of the house and divide up the south sector into 3 slices? By the way, to share with other users, if my main door falls in the 1st sub-sector, the double 8 will land in the North sector. That's what i got using your fabulous calculator. I think it's the direction of my new main door. Can you please confirm my understanding? Thanks a million.
