  1. Dear Cecil, Thank you for all your support. I will let you know as things progress. So far, things are getting better and better. My temporary job just got extended. Since it is not advisable to hang plants in the bedroom, would hanging a mobile or wind chime between the bed and the protrusion be effective in neutralizing it? Cheui May
  2. Dear Cecil, please advise, what should take priority? If I have the head of the bed pointing towards an auspicious direction according to the 8 house theory, there is a protruding corner from the closet aimed at the bed. Is it better to move the bed away from the direct line of the poison arrow, even though the head will be pointing in an inauspicious direction or is it better to face an auspicious direction even though its in the line of the poison arrow? Thanks, Cheui May
  3. Dear Cecil, You mentioned that it is not advisable for someone who is a weak fire to activate a water star as this would further weaken the fire element. Does this also apply to someone who is weak water not activate the mountain star as earth destroys water? Also can you tell me is it better to have your bed facing an auspicious direction according to 8 house theory or to have the bed placed auspiciously according to shapes and forms? In my bedroom, if I have the head of the bed pointing towards an auspicious direction, there is a protruding corner from the closet aimed at the bed. Is it better to move the bed away from the direct line of the poison arrow even though it is a bad direction according to 8 house? Which should take priority? Thanks, Cheui May
  4. Dear Cecil, I'm really interested in changing my name to add more strength to my element, weak water. But Chinese is such a language of subtleties that one can easily make a mistake in evaluation. On further thought, I realized that my name, Cheui, actually means green, the color green of imperial quality jade and not actually the word jade itself, so does it mean that it's OK and will not further weaken my element, weak water? But my middle name, May has the character mountain in the middle of the word. Does that add more earth element even thought the entire character is a flower? Which name do you recommend that I change with Shui and how do I count the number of strokes? Is there a source that I can go to find out this information? Thanks again, Cheui May
  5. Dear Cecil, Could you give some clarification on this? In an earlier message, you said. 1.1 Do not place the table on Do you mean the the table should not be out by itself like an island? What about when there is a wall behind you to give support and the table is in front? Thanks, Cheui May
  6. Dear Cecil, Can you tell me how to determine the element of a house? Is it based on the date or period that the house was built for example period 6, between 1964 to 1983 making it a metal element or the main entrance, for example South East, making the element wood? Cheui May
  7. Dear Cecil, You have no idea how much your forum has helped me fill in the missing puzzle in my destiny. After trying the enhancements that you've suggested and learning that the missing sections in this house has really effected my prosperity, health and happiness, I had a thought, one day, that if missing sections in a house would cause such imbalances, what would missing elements in a name create? I had gone back to my Chinese name about twenty years ago and have not been able to attain success in my chosen profession, even though it was the same profession that the Pillars of Destiny said my prosperity star was in. In one of the messages that you wrote, you mentioned that ideally, if a person is born as a weak element, like myself, weak water, a name with water in it would enhance her luck. Then I realize, my Chinese name Cheui, means jade, earth, which would weaken water further. Am I right in that analysis? If I am, can you tell me where I can find information on how to choose an auspicious name? Thanks again, as always, Cheui May
  8. Dear Cecil, If a sector called for a wood cure and the April monthly star in a sector is 3, shall I remove the plants from that section for this month? Also in one of the Fung Shui books that I read, the author recommended plants in the bathroom to counter the downward draining of the toilet and drains, do you think I should keep the plants in there even though the monthly star is 3? Thanks again, Cheui May
  9. Dear Cecil I know metal is good for a weak water person, so probable wearing gold or silver would be beneficial. If earth destroys water, does that mean all stones such as jade, diamonds etc. will weaken them further? Thanks, Cheui May
  10. Dear Cecil and Robert, Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. I have felt so depressed and felt so hopeless these last few years. As you know, I have gotten into a few business and lost each time. When I found your site, I was really afraid to make any moves. I was living on my credit cards and my boyfriend had been in a series of accidents and was also out of work. You don't know this, but every time you offered your help, I was so touched that I actually cried. I really didn't think that someone that I had never met, with so many people asking for advice, would really take their time to actually help. Not only did you give me free advice, when you found out my situation, you offered us a free Flying Star full report and Pillars of Destiny. I have to tell you that things are starting to turn around. Even in this house. My boyfriend has found a job that he really likes and is doing very well. My business is starting to pick up. Some of my clients are telling other clients about my product and somehow it's coming to me and I really didn't do anything to generate it. Thank You again, Cheui May
  11. Dear Cecil, I also have a lone lamp post plus corners of two neighboring houses pointing at my back door. It is in the North section that has a severe indentation. As you know I was planning to place some potted plants on the walkway to extend the missing section out. If I place low shrub type plants along the walkway and two taller plants at the the side of the door, would that still work as the triangle effect? Cheui May
  12. Dear Cecil, You mentioned that the Mountain Star should only be activated on a wall away from windows. Must the entire wall be without windows or: 1. Can you place it on a shelf about four feet away from the nearest window? 2. Can it be hung on a wall next to the bed room door? 3. Is there any criterion on how the back door is. For example, my back door is a sliding glass door. 4. I'm also having a little trouble deciding which element I should use to activate the mountain star. I know you mentioned that we should not use an element that is already too strong in that area, but for instance: If the Flying Star Report called for a metal remedy and I already put up 6 coins that means that section should already be in balance. Now, if there is a mountain star in that location, what element could I use that wouldn't unbalance it? The section I'm referring to is the North East, base star 9, mountain star 1, water star 2, yearly star 3. 5. In addition, March's flying star for that section is 7, metal. Given the March star is the remedy that the section needs, I'm wondering if I should remove the six coins from this location till April? Thanks, Cheui May
  13. Dear Cecil, In the Pillars of Destiny chart for this period of my life I found this passage: This period falls under the Summer season. Favouring West directional luck period, which happens to be the Metal element. As you are a Weak Water, this is inauspicious for you as it weaken your assisting element Metal. Suggested Prevention: You should still try to help your Weak Water with Metal. My question is: Why does metal weaken metal? Also, since this is considered inauspicious, would it mean that the west direction is bad for me even though the season favors west? My bedroom is in the west, if I place the cures there, would it be OK? Thanks, Cheui May
  14. Dear Cecil, I'm still looking at the possibility of treating my house as two sections. In doing so, the south section would not be missing at all and the North could be augmented with plants on the out side. I would like to know would you still need a partition to subdivided the two sections if there is a wall separating the two? Thanks, Cheui May
  15. Dear Cecil, If the direction of the house is determined by the location of the front door, does it matter if the front door is not the entrance that you use? For example, if you mostly use the back entrance. Cheui May
  16. Dear Cecil, What can you do if the house does not conform to good fung shui principles? Please see below. How many feet away would obstructions in front of the entrance be considered a problem? If there is a telephone pole, and it is not directly in front, but I can see it from the entrance about and it's about 100 feet away, would that be consider blocking the clear space? What can you do if the house is situated on top of the hill and there is no solid backing? I see from the layout of my house, if I consider the walls of the two bedrooms in the back as a partititon, then the house is actually not so off balanced. If I do that, would I divide the sectors as if I was dealing with two houses?
  17. Dear Cecil, I am so touched with your willingness to help. Bless you. Cheui May
  18. Dear Cecil, How do you choose a suitable house if you are a west facing person and you live with someone who is an east facing person? Cheui May
  19. Dear Cecil, You mentioned that it is not advisable to have plants in the bedroom. What can you do to block the sharp edge of a corner facing the bed? Thanks, Cheui May
  20. Some Fung Shui practitioners say it's metal and some say it's fire. What do you say? Cheui May
  21. Dear Cecil, The house that I live is a duplex that originally was a single house with several rooms added on to it. My side of it is very irregularly shaped. When I divide it into nine equal squares, most of the South section is in the other half of the duplex. Also, because of the odd shape, the North West section is also very small. I've read in some Fung Shui books that I can fill in a missing section by placing the element of that sector on the outside of the house. Unfortunately, I can't do that because, the South sector is in the other half of the duplex and belongs to the other people living there. The North West section has a house with a corner pointing at my door. If I place something on the outside that enhances the element of that sector wouldn't I also enhance the sha qi coming from the neighbor's house? Most of the rooms are odd shaped, there are corners from four house and one tree trunk pointing at my doors and windows, the toilet is exactly 1 meter from the center of the house, the stove is less than one meter from the center separated by a wall. there are steps leading straight down from my back door. I have gotten into three businesses and have lost money on all of them. My boyfriend has gotten into an accident and lost many jobs and had to have an eye operation. I have posted a floor plan so you can get a clear picture of what I mean. I would appreciate it if you can tell me if you think these things can be remedied or would it be better just to move? Thank you for your help, Cheui May
  22. Can you tell me how to remedy a large sliding glass back door that opens to a flight of steps five feet away and leads straight down to a cull de sac? There is no covering on the door and it is very uncomfortable since everyone can look in. It feels as if all the wealth is being washed away down those steps. I'm planning to get some type of curtain for the glass door, but the house does not belong to me so I can't relocate the steps. Is there some thing else I can do to stop the Qi from flowing out so fast? It is in the NW sector of the house. The house has many Feng Shui problems. It's a SW sitting house and the main entrance is located in the SE. It's is also very inauspiciously shaped. The original house was rectangle now there are so many add on rooms that it looks like a a triangle wedge on one side. The owner divided the house into two units and on our side. The south section is almost completely missing. (it's part of the other unit) and the north section is also very small. It's on top of a hill and both front and back entrance is facing cul de sacs and there are four house with corners pointing at our doors and windows. Since I've lived here, I've gotten into several home base business and have lost money on all of them. Every month my income is less than my expenses. The rent is very inexpensive here because the owner is a personal friend, but it's been over five years and I can't continue like this much longer. The worst part is I am a writer and can't seem to finish my projects. Please give me some advice. Should I move or are there some remedies I can do to improve my situation. I really appreciate your help. Thanks, Cheui May
