  1. I read in the books that we should avoid placing the yin and yang objects in opposite directions or next to each other. Meaning that the refrigerators and water dispensers (yin objects) should not be opposite or next to the stove. Actually, according to what I read, placing them in opposite directions is even more harmful than side-by-side. I have a microwave oven (used rarely, 2-3 times a day) and an electric 5-litre water pot. They are placed next to each other due to space constraint. Does this represent a clash between yang and yin? I am not too sure that the electric water pot is yin or yang. It is used very frequently, because we use a lot of hot water at home. Water represents ying, but the electricity represents yang (?) Could we place a wood element in between to neutralise the clash? Something like an artificial plastic bouquet between the oven and the water pot could do or not? Furthermore, there is no wall or other separators between the kitchen, dining room and living room in my house! Is this also a problem of losing the yang energy of the kitchen? Thanking you in advance.
  2. I was born in a metal dog year. Just heard from a fortune teller in Indonesia that people born in the Dog year are advised to rear a pet dog at home to significantly improve their luck. The dog is expected to enhance the Feng Shui balance and harmony, and therefore improve their luck. Is this true? I have never heard about this before and have never reared a dog. My daughter, however, was born in a Dragon year. Would a dog conflict with her? Would a dog conflict with the turtle that I have been rearing for a year in the North sector (with no significant improvement in my career luck). Thanks
