Ideally, the entrance to an office or business should be orientated so that it faces one of the owner's best direction.This direction considered when standing outside looking at the building or standing inside the building & looking out?

When we use a kua number to find an auspicious direction (or sheng ch'i). Then for putting it in practice do we use the compass or do we use the bagua to locate the direction. Example for kua number 1 the best direction is south east. Now do we go by the compass or do we locate the number 4 from the bagua.
