Dear Kim, TEO KIM ENG wrote: Can you advice me on how to find the "cai wei" in the house. Generally, the "cai wei" is always changing depending on your house luck. It changes from each 20-year Period to20-year Period and even year-to-year/month-to-month. However, we often focus on the main 20-year and yearly luck if any. The way to find it is to use the flying star chart which is available in our member area:- URL: http://login.geomancy.net Generally, if your house is built between 2004-2023 (Period 8), then your current wealth sector is star 8, while your future star is Star 9 etc. So where there is a water star 8 that is your Zheng Cai (earned wealth), while the mountain star 8 represents your Pian Cai (unexpected wealth). So depending on where these stars fall in your house, that is where your wealth sector is. Same goes for if your house is built 1984-2003 (Period 7), then your current wealth is star 7 and future star is star 8. So where these stars falls in the house, that is where your wealth sectors is present. So you need to activate the sector accordingly. Water star needs open space or water feature. While mountain star needs an enclosed room or mountain/rock feature. This is always changing depending on your house facing, when the house is built or had a major renovation etc. The luck also changes from year to year which you can also try to fine tune each year. But more important is to activate the main 20-year luck and a slight fine tuning to year. No one will usually worry about the month to month or day to day changes as that will be too impractical. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Josephine, josephine Panopio wrote: Good day! I need help.. We bought a new house, th problems are.. the bathroom is in the center. there is a missing corner and the house number is 11104.My birthdate is March 12, 1974 and I m Josephine. I am worried because I read that these are not good. I thnk the house is facing NE, I just need help right npw because we are moving on January so that I can do whatever I need to do. Please, I appreciate your help. I can send the floor plan if you need to. Thank you so much. Generally, that is why it is important that you check the house for such key flaws before you buy them. Otherwise, it will be harder to correct them. 1. Bathroom in the center of the house is a major flaw that is hard to fix as you cannot simply move the toilet to another position. However, on it's own it does not really mean that your house will be doom. It often takes two or more major leaks together to create problem. Some common way to minimise it is to keep the toilet door closed and toilet seat cover down when not in used. The other is to buy a hulu (bottle gourd) which will symbolise trapping wealth before it leaks out of the house. These two are usually some of the methods to prevent wealth leak out of the house. 2. As for the missing corner, you can either have:- a)Mirrors to extend the missing corner from inside the house; b) Or have a concave bagua to try to suck wealth back from the missing corner. c) Or create a stone garden landscape to form the missing corner. Such that when you view the house from the top down, you no longer see the missing corner. Anyway, missing corner isn't often a major factor. Most houses will often have some missing corner here and there. So it isn't really a major issue to worry about compared to the toilet in the center of the house. 3. As for the house number. Generally this is more likely to affect your future resale value especially, if you sell to Chinese believers as they will often avoid numbers such as 4 (death in cantonese pronounciation), even 1 as it can mean loneliness etc. Most will like the house number to contain like 6 (luck) / 8 (wealth) / 9 (longevity)etc. Anyway, this is more a individual likes and dislike. As there are really many ways to determine whether a number is auspicious. Some goes by sound of the number, some goes by whether the number is their lucky number etc. I mean even say 4 to some people this is bad luck, but to some this is an auspicious number. So I won't worry too much about the house number. So as mentioned, it will affect future re-sale value but won't have any immediate problems. Generally, a NE/SW facing house has good flying star luck in Period 8, and if you are aWest group person this house is generally a good house facing direction. However, if you are a East group person, then it won't be your favourable direction. Eitherway, if the house is built before 2004, you might want to consider to fly the house to Period 8 to tap the auspicious stars. Anyway, it is best you get someone to properly review your house, then try to balance up all the negative aspects and activate some of the good luck so that whatever problems will be minimised. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Gary, Gary Lim wrote: I find your website very user friendly and informative!.. Glad that you enjoy the information on our website:- Gary Lim wrote: I have 1 question though. recently, i checked the Chinese Calender (Those with auspicious &inauspicious predictions) and it shows that 16th of december is a good day for shifting house. What you need to remember is that a typical chinese calendar DOES NOT personalise to any one person. So it is a general date that is supposed to be good or bad for everyone. In general, there are two ways to check an auspicious date:- 1. Just do a quick lookup in a Tung Shu or Chinese Alamac, and pick the date that is deemed auspicious for whatever event you are looking for. Often, you still have to double check yourself if the day clashes with your horoscope sign etc. (This is at least the basic check you need to consider as the Chinese Alamac does not personalise to any one person.) 2. If you have a personalised auspicious date, that considers your ba zi etc. Just like our free 30-days auspicious date. Then this report will superceed the general tung shu. The reason is because, even if a day is deemed good in a Tung Shu, but sometimes that day may also clash with your ba zi/horoscope. Then it may not be as good as a date that does not clash with your ba zi and is only an average day in the tung shu. Either way, if you use method 1 then you do not check on method 2. If you use method 2, then you can ignore the method 1 as the additional personalisation has been considered. Gary Lim wrote: I chanced upon geomancy.net"30Day Free Auspicous Date for 2 Persons" of which after i entered my Birthdate and My Wife's Birthdate, It shows that 16th December is an inauspicous Date for me and Average for my Wife, while 18th December is auspicous for both of us...What does this mean?? Does it mean that the chinese calender is inaccurate? Your advice here isgreatly appreciated.. Our analysis will consider the key Tung Shu events, in addition to the ba zi of yourself and your wife. So it will find an optimium day that will fit both of you and be at least an average/good day under the tung shu. This date will be much more personalised that the normal calendar date. The date that the normal calendar forecast is general, you often still need to do your own additional elimination such as whether the day clashes with your horoscope sign or even a more detailed check if the day clashes with your ba zi (if you are able to calculate it yourself). Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Dear Master, December is the month we usually do some clearing in the house. We are planning to repaint our master-bedroom in the South after Christmas. Should we be concern of the 5 Yellows there this month? We are also thinking of taking away the tv cabinets and speakers away from the SE during the same period and place it in the North. Will this affect the Sui Po in SE and 7 in North? Thank you for your advise. brgds Vince Generally, as long as you have properly balanced the 20-year base flying star chart, then you usually do not have to worry too much about the monthly flying star changes. The impact will usually be minimum. It is usuallymore important to avoid disturbing the Grand Duke, which in 2007 is North-North-West, 330 Degree. So as long as you avoid having any major renovations in this sector or East sector of the house (which is the opposite of the location in conflict:West), then you are usually quite safe. In your case, you are basically clearing the old furnitures/items, and at most repainting so not really considered anything major. Only thing to take note is to avoid colours that may activate the bad stars. So since 5 star is present, anything that is too bright red/bright yellow should be avoided. Just choose an auspicious date to start your clearing and painting and it should be fine. You can make use of our free report:- URL: http://date.geomancy.net Hope that helps. What does this mean, and how can I introduce metal between us? What kind of metal? I think we really need it lol. Thank you so much for your help on this, and throughout this amazing website!! Simply, everything in feng shui can be related to five elements. For example, colours, shapes, career, people around you etc. Here is an reference chart you can refer to:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net So the most practical would be the colour and decor scheme within the room that both of you share. Having metal, means you can choose colour scheme (white/gold), circular shaped design/patterns etc. The more of these in common areas you share, you will be adding metal to help harmonise or reduce potential conflict between the two. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I intend to buy a corner unit HDB flat on the 10th floor. But when walking along the corridor leading to the main door of the flat, can see the back of a cremetorium and a temple. However, can't really see these 2 buildings from inside the flat. Also, I would like to know if it would be a cause for concern if the masterbed room and another bedroom is rather near the corridor of the next block of flats. As I need to reply the owner soon, would appreciate a prompt reply. Generally, if you can directly see the cremetorium or temple from your house, then it will be direct major concern. Otherwise, if you cannot see it it should be ok. But on a practical point. Given that even though you cannot see the cremetorium or template yet already concerned, your future buyer may also have this concern. So of course the best advice is why risk it. Probably the best advise is if you can find another house that isn't close to temple/church/mosque nor near a cremetry/cremetorium. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi Master Cecil I have a one big rectangular mirror placed in my dining room. Under feng shui is it gd to place it? Generally, mirrors under feng shui can bounce double the good or bad luck depending on where it is placed. The more appropriate is to avoid:- 1. Placing mirror where it bounces the Qi out of the houses. For example if you open a door and immediately see a mirror, any good qi that is trying to enter into the house, may be bounced right out of the house. 2. Mirror must either be a single piece or 3 pieces. Never double, as when you view it is like you are being divided. Which can signify divorce. 3. Mirrors in bathrooms is or in your wardrobe are ok. The rest whether it is good or bad depends on where it is placed or how it is used. Anonymous wrote: as i heard mirror trapped spirit,is it true? Scientifically, this isn't possible even though there are movies on this. The thing about mirror is that there is this situation where people do not like wake up and see the mirrror, as they say that when you sleep, your spirit wakes and see itself in the mirror and get a shock. But on the other hand, some people want to see the mirror to comb yourself so that you look need before your spirit live. So this is more of a tolerance level. Also, under feng shui mirror can reflect or bounce Qi. So if place in a good qi it can double the good Qi, but if placed in a bad Qi can also bounce double the bad luck. Please advise Generally, if you see when you stand at your main door looking out, then it may pose as a problem if it the plant is on it's own as it may be like a lone tree/lamppost. However, if the plants you place around it break the shape of the bamboo so that it is no longer a lone lone sharp thin bamboo, then it should be ok. For example, if you placed many many plants together as a group, then even if there is a bamboo, it looks more like a bunch of trees/plants rather than lone plant. If that is the case, then should be no issue. The problem we are worried about is not to have any lone sharp tree/lamppost that may cut into the house. It is thissha qi that you want to avoid. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Under what circumstances can an element in the chart (Water in this demo case), when combined with another element, lose its own elemental status and change to another element (Earth in this demo case)? This one you will need to read up on detailed ba zi analysis. There are couple of combinations and clashes and under what situations they will combine permanently and when they combine just for that moment when they meet. This is often beyond a basic ba zi reading. So you have to do your own research on this, as I don't have time to list out all the different combination rules and situationsavailable. All the rules are already programmed into the ba zi analysis. So whatever you get on our report would already considered that. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Related to this topic, our house was built on period 7. (1989). We have experienced a string of bad luck in the past years since 98 from health problems to financial troubles to legal. Recently we asked a friend to take a look at the house and he says that the house was auspicious at the time it was built (luck from 'twin stars'), but that the stars 'died' in sometime 97-98. He also said that the stars were now like a black hole that was getting back all the luck that it had given out over the years (sort of like a black hole). He suggested a major renovation as a cure. Anonymous wrote: Your thoughts on these please? Period 7 is from 1984-2003. So given the year still is within Period 7 house luck, the luck will still primarily be a Period 7 house luck. On a year to year basis, luck will change slightly however, it won't change very significantly. Until 2004, where you enter into a new Period 8 luck period. Luck of the house will alter a little even if you do not have major renovation, simply because the star 7 will revert back to the robbery star. So the luck will be reduced a little. However, even that you do not have any major renovation, the house luck will still primarily be a period 7 house luck. Under such situation, the owners often have an option to fly to period 8 house luck if it is better. There is really no logic in saying the house stars die in 97-98 as it is still a period 7 house luck until 2003. So even if you had a major renovation, it will still be a period 7 house luck. So how does it help your issue? Often, there are other issues to consider. Yes, yearly luck changes may change from time to time, but that alone does not create that major a problem if the house is properly balanced. The major issue canaffect the house luck is unless there is a new building that was built in your area, that can change your surrounding luck as it changes the Qi flow in the area. A person's luck is generally affected by 3 forms of luck:- 1. Heaven Luck - luck that your a born with or supposed to be given. 2. Earth Luck - luck from your home and surrounding environment. 3. Human Luck - luck from your relationship with others and your own hard work. Often, any bad issues is likely to come from two areas. Your ba zi luck in a very low luck period. This plus some Earth Luck influence together often can create a major issue especially if the Earth Luck isn't properly balanced. Anonymous wrote: Also, what constitutes a "major renovation". A major renovation for example is hacking a wall to change the layout structure. Or changing all the floor tiles etc. Others like painting/repair worksare considered minor. Hope that helps. Dear Maxx Ha, maxx ha wrote: Thanx for your explaination. Some website mention by putting some mascot such as FU dogs can block the negative/bad energy from the west. Is it true? Such FU dogsare intended to guard the house against sha qi from an extenal source. So yes, they do help block against such sha qi. Such as corners from another building opposite your home. However, your issue is the house does not suit you. So having this FU dogs won't help improve the suitability. There is nothing you can do to correct a house that is not suitable except to change to a house that has a facing that suits you. That is why I said that the long term solution is to move to a more suitable house in the future. You can only minimise the impact by fixing other leaks that you can correct, but the house won't suit you so you it is like you can only obtain say about 25%-50% depending on whether the facing direction is Death/Disaster (worst) or Spook/Irritation (least impact). maxx ha wrote: Can I stay/face in the east area of the house to gain luck? I believe I had answered that in my previous reply. For an East Goup person, and if you are looking for houses built 2004-2023 (Period 8), South and East are generally better. South is most preferred, as East facing you will have the Morning sun influence as well as the flying star luck is not as good as a South facing house. Hope that helps. Dear Dino Mateo, Dino Mateo wrote: Hello sir! My relative read form a Feng shui book that bamboo is bad in front of the house. Im asking because we have a glass etched with bamboo in front of our house. Is it bad? Generally, bamboo are thin and long and it also grows very fast. So few things can happen. Because thin and long it can also act like a sharp lamppost which can cut into the house. If too many and too much it forms like a mountain (which isn't good for the frontage which should be clear). Also, too many and not well taken care off, it can get very dirty and messy. So it is not the most ideal plant to have. So that is the general problem. But if since yours is the glass etched with bamboo drawing, this would be different. And should be ok. Dino Mateo wrote: Also, we have 4 big black pillars in front of the same house. Is it also bad? As for the pillars. As long as it does not cuts into the living room and main door, it should be ok. What you do not want it long poles that cuts into the house which will create sha qi. Dino Mateo wrote: Another thing. our house number is 112. The total of this is 4. Is it bad? What should I do if they are bad? Thank you very much!! As for numbers, there are really many many different ways to look at an auspicious number. I mean the good thing is that the base number does not have 4 which would sound like die (cantonese). So for most chinese, they won't like to buy houses with the number 4. As for the total adding up the 4. Under our lucky Kua/Gua number point of view. If you belong to Kua 4, then it is deemed an auspicious number for you. If not, then it isn't. So there are really many ways to look at it. So I won't worry too much about it. The location of your house and house layout is often the more important aspect to consider. House number is secondary. Often it may affect future re-sale value if the number contains like 4 etc. Otherwise, it has minimum impact. Hope that helps. Where do i take the exact compass reading from? stand from center of unit, facing the living room window (facing direction of unit) or face the door? Or stand outside the whole blk, back in the middle of the block, facing the face direction of block? thanks! We have this general rule for house facing direction:- 1. Apartments (2nd - 7th level), we take the main door facing direction. ie stand inside your house looking out from your main door. 2. Apartments (8th level and up), we take the living room/balcony facing direction. ie stand inside your house looking out from your living room/balcony. So in your case, you take the 2 option which is take the house direction from where your baloncy or where most light enters into the house through the living room area. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have been away from Singapore since 2005 and I have been working in Shanghai since then. It wasn't a delibrate decision to relocate, but rather, an opportunity that came along the way. My career has not been going too smoothly and I wonder if location will affect one's element/ba zi and career path? I have been told that I have the TianMa travelling star in my ba zi, which is why I wouldmost likely develop a career outside my place of birth? My ba zi (female) is Lunar (1981, 8th month, 13 day) at 7.00 p.m. to 8.59 p.m. and I am a strong Yin Metal (using the online generator on this website). I am currently inthe construction line (client servicing and marketing) and I am contemplating a change. I would like to seek advice on a more suitable career choice (and location too if possible) for someone my element/ba zi? In terms of Feng Shui, we always say that Location, followed by Location and last by Location is always an important influence to a person's Earth Luck. So normally, where you stay will certainly have some impact over your overall luck. A person is generally affected by 3 luck:- 1. Human Luck - luck you are born with and is suppose to have. 2. Earth Luck - luck from your home and surrounding environment. 3. Human Luck - luck from your relationship with others and your own hard work. Given Earth Luck has the most adverse influence, that is why the location factor where you stay tends to affect your current luck. Given you are away since 2005, this means that the place you are staying in Shanghai now is where most of your earth luck is being influenced. As for your ba zi, frankly, this is just a free advise forum, our main purpose is to adivse you based on information you provided. Given the numerous post that are seeking our advise, we do not have time to review your ba zi in-detail to know what is the factor in your heaven luck. So it could be you also are in alow luck period which can also add to further problems. However, as a Strong Metal person, generally this means that you generally have too much of Earth/Metal thus being strong. So Water/Wood/Fire would generally be favourable for you. Exactly which elements is most favourable depends on what is your five element percentage. So if you are a Strong Metal, then working in a construction line (Earth element),whileClient servicing and Marketing is (Earth/Fire). Given you are a Strong Metal, you are likely to already have more Earth/Metal, so ba zi career suitability wise does not really seems to be that favourable. So probably another reason why you may not be having a smooth career. As mentioned, Water/Wood/Fire elements would likely be more suitable but given I do not really know your exact percentage, can't say which one is most lacking etc. But you probably won't go wrong if you have more of such elements. You can refer to this link for more information about five element and career:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Given, you really want to know more about what career and what elements favour you, a detailed ba zi review may give you further insights to allow you to be able to plan your furture more properly. If there is no facilitator, you can do it yourself. The initial door opening is just a procedure to attempt to seed luck into the house. As long as you choose a good date, you can proceed to carry out the procedure. This procedure is just like the move-in, start of renovation etc. All are procedures just to attempt to bring better luck and minimise any bad influence from happening. That is about all. Aaron Ng wrote: Lastly, is it ok to enter the unit first without doing the door opening ceremony? What are the negative consequences for doing so, if any? If you miss the initial opening, then at least try to make sure you perform the move-in before you actually move your furniture into the house. However, even though this area is not used, it would still be best to avoid Bright Yellow or Bright Red colours which may activate the sector. Keep the area white/metal influence and it should minimise any impact. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Aaron Ng, Aaron Ng wrote: After dividing my house using the 8 house theory, I found one of the sectorsis split almost evenlybetween my master bedroom and another room. Since this is a favourable sector for me, does this mean that I should locate my bed in the part of the master bedroom where the favourable sector is? Yes, where the sector is split, we normally try to position the bed closer to the sector that is favourable to you. Or in cases we try to determine which sector covers the room the most. Then determine whether the room is suitable or not. But where it is very in between, then we try to locate like bed closer to the good sector. Also you can arrange your sleeping position to face the better directions. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research -
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Our house is located behind a church and graveyard, not directly about 30 m away, the church does not have a tall spire but a top like a castle. I wonder if I should put something on my front door to ward off any unhappy vibes from those who have passed away. Generally, the only thing about the Church is not to have the house face the Church Cross. As it is like a Sha Qi to the house. The other thing is sometimes Church bell may be a little nosy. But other than that, it is usually not a major concern. If the house cross faces the house, then you might have to put some mirror to reflect it away. The graveyard might be more probablematic as it is often thought to be unclean and can cause more unease especially if you walk alone at night. So probably you want to avoid:- 1)Having windchimes or anything bell-likethat makes noise which can attract the spirits. 2) Best to keep the house and surrounding yang and bright. For example red brick fence might be good as it is very yang. 3) Keep yourgarden clean and avoid lone trees which can attract dead. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Katrina Blue, katrina blue wrote: i'm just a beginner in this but it seems that having toilet next to the entrance and bathroom in the centre of apartment (bathtub exactly in the centre) is very bad? i cant make any major changes, but can you advice some help? please, because it seems this days my life is in chaos... Unfortunately, those are two inauspicious influence to have in the house. 1. Toilet close to main door isn't auspicious as the Qi is like dirtied by the toilet Qi. 2. Toilet close to center influence of the house is like a leak of weath where all the influence meet. Unfortunately, since you cannot make major changes to move the toilet location, then you can only attempt to reduce or minimise some of the Qi leak. This isn't full proof as well as Qi will still be dirtied and leak out. However, since you do not have anything else you can do probably no choice. So try to hang a hulu (bottle gourd), which is said to be able to suck up some wealth before it leaks out. This should help minimise it. Also, probably you should consider fixing any other leaks in the house so that there won't be future feng shui leaks which could further reduce your luck. To permanently solve it, you either have to relocate the toilet or move to another house in the future. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET- Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi I am a preschool teacher and purchased a golden Buddha with 5 children. Where should I place him? My classroom is on the west side of the building and windows face west? May I also request where I would put my wu lou with immortals and picture of bamboo? sincere thank yous. Generally, true feng shui is not about placement of items. It is more about the arrangement of furniture, colour scheme, chosing the right roomand most importantly the choice of a house with good location. What you mentioned like buddha with 5 children or lwu lou with immortals are generally what we considered more work of art. Some of these arts because they represent like wealth or buddha is being promoted as "feng shui items". However, in reality they are nothing but a work of art. No matter how you place them (ie face left/right etc), it won't really bring you significant luck etc. As there is really not miracle or special power that comes with it. They only make it place look nice and makes you feel good. So as long as you like the item, you can place it inyour homefor decoration as they are more decorative items rather than feng shui influence. Hope that helps.
