Dear Ana, Ana Prillaman wrote: my question for you is: I am a southwest person, so does this mean when I puta chart on a blueprint I should use the chart for the southwest house - so that the north for me would still be in the death position, the northwest longevity and so on? this is not where my main door is facing, so should I use a north house chart instead? once I know which directions are best for me in my house, I can decide where to arrange my furniture and pick the right colors to use(wood and earth colors, I think)and also if the bathroom being in the west is a problem! For the Eight House / Flying Starchart, orientate the North position of the house to the North of yoru Eight House chart. This means, that if your main door is North then North will fall under your Death sector. Only difference is that for Flying Star chart, the chart will be different depending on what is the actual house facing direction. So if your frontage of the house is North, then you generate the North (depending on N1/N2/N3 direction), then orientate the chart based on the North position. You cannot use another direction of chart etc. Once you have these properly done, then you use the chart to assess if the house is suitable, whether there are necessary corrections etc. It does not mean that you are South-West person, means you use a South-West Flying Star chart to match the house. The house chart is based on the frontage of the house. So if the house is North facing, then you use a North facing flying star chart. But based on your main door facing it lookslike this house won't be suitable for you. In fact, as a West Group person, you would benefit most if your house is NE/SW Facing especially if the house is built after 2004 (Period 8). Hope that helps. If you are a Gua (Kua) 3, then South-East is better as it is your longevity, compared to South-West (Disaster). Given, there is no other option, then South-East would be the more suitable of the two directions given an East group person. Generally, for East facing group person, the best houses especially if the house is built after 2004 (Period 8), would be a South/East facing house. If for house built between 1984-2003 (Period 7), would be a North/South facing house in general. These direction have the best feng shui qi for the flying star chart as well as being suitable to your eight house direction. Hope that helps. You see a house may be registered under your wife, but if you are paying for the house and you are staying there. You are more likely the breadwinner for the house. But if your wife is paying for the house, then it would be your wife as the breadwinner. Hope that helps to clarify. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

I thought of the possibility for placing rising phoenix on my back, that is the idea that a have it for know... Thank you in advance. Frankly, tattoos are more commonly associated with gangsters especially in singapore during the 1950's, 1960's and 1970s. So it already have a negative image taggedtoit. You see just like why people have bad impression on number say 4 = die, when most think about tatoo it often relates to something bad or illegal. In feng shui, you want to have more good influence than bad influence, so naturally, tattoo would also be viewed as having bad influence. Even though, recent tattoos are being viewed as a personalisedart form. So if you ask my personal opinion, I would have to say that a tattoo is more likely to havea negative feng shui impact rather than positive one.So not advisable from feng shui point of view. 5. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm looking atbuying a house and themain door opens out to a split door, is it "harmful" for the ones staying in the house? Is there a cure ? Generally, if you open your door and anything that cuts or split in your house, this is considered inauspicious. As it is normally a form or sha qi or poison arrow. This means this wall/split will cut right into your house. Typical way to resolve is try to block it. Probably like having at least gate with has half the height covered. Or even having some partition inside your house just after you enter into the door. Or last resort may be to use a ba gua to reflect the problem, but this may lead to bagua war as the other occupants may also put up one to counter yours. Hope that helps. Dear Tialen K, tialen k wrote: hello, I planted three tall thin trees together in a grouping, however I was told this was bad luck as typically incense is burned in groups of three for morning. thus the three trees symbolize the sticks of incense and therefore death. tialen k wrote: Is this correct?? I have seen groupings of three like this before as landscapers typically recommend this type of groupings. Yes, when we pray using joss stick, we normally use 3 joss stick. So, if you plants 3 thin plants, it is likely to resemble this 3 joss stick. So it is not so auspicious in general. How bad, really depends on how much far the 3 plants placed and how it looks from within the house. If it looks similiar to the 3 joss stick, then it is bad. If it does not, then it should be ok. Either you add more so that it does not look so obvious or. At least add more supporting plants/bushes so that it looks more like a garden landscape rather than just 3 individual tall thin threes. 7. Dear Reyla, reyla faubion wrote: Just wanted to know on the bazi analysis software, when you plug in your birthday is it your birthday US time, Singapore time or other? I'm confused bec. I could be born on the 12th in US time but it might be th 13th Singapore time. In general, adjusting GMT time zone isn't the right or proper way to adjust location factor. In fact, the only true way is to apply the long. and lat. of birth. However, even this if you add just 1 degree off, your chart can be even less accurate than if you do not consider this at all. Furthermore, who actually records the exact long. and lat. of birth when you are born. Even if you are born within a hospital, a different location within the hospital also will give you a different long. and lat. of birth. Ba zi, was created such that even if you leave out the hour of birth, it will still be able to give you a pretty accurate forecast of what luck you are suppose to be born with. So really, there is no need to make any adjustment. It is best to just use your local time of birth for analysing the ba zi. This would be enough. After all, a person luck is affected by 3 types of luck:- 1. Heaven Luck - luck you are supposed to be born with. 2. Earth Luck - luck from your home and surrounding. 3. Human Luck - luck from your own hard work and relationship with others. Thus, a ba zi does isn't designed to predict accurately what you may have encountered (based on your history), but rather to assess what type of luck you are supposed to have, and when are the ups and downs to look out for. Even if a ba zi luck period shows you have good luck but if your earth luck influence is bad, your given luck will be affected. So if you understand this, ba zi is more just to determine what element you belong to, how to harmonise yourself to the environment, and when best to take advantage of your luck. The rest depends a lot on the earth and human luck. So to summarise, you just need to use your local time when generating any of the reports on our website. Each different tools you use will compensate the inaccuracy or flaws of each tool. That is why it is more important to use a variety of tools rather than just one assessment tool for a comprehensive feng shui assesment. Hope that helps. However, if of course your five element percentage for Earth is still very low (ie less than 20%), then still not too bad. Generally, in terms of business. Besides a suitable career industry, the business model is also important. As long as you have a fundamentally viable business, you should be able to still work out even if the element isn't the most favourable. They will open the whole ground in the Southwest, the West and the Nordwest along my house. Additional they will drive(drill)a hole in my basement wall which lies in the west of my house because they want to place an electric pipline through my cellar. With best regards Alex Given this is a city related renovation. The impact to you should be minimal given you are not the one responsible for the renovation or disturbance. However, what you can do if any, is choose a good date to maybe have a simple offering or prayer to apologise for disturbing the grand duke due to the upcoming pipeline works. This should if any minimise the impact of disturbing the grand duke for your house. You can use this link to check for a good date:- URL: http://dates.geomancy.net Hope that helps. 10. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My brother bought a house built during period 7. When the master fengshui did the consultation at my brother's house he automatically applied period 8 to do his calculations. I find this method very strange. When I asked, he told me he can apply 8 and work it backwards. I don't know what he means and he refused to elaborate. Is this method legitimate? Please help... Generally, when you assess a house, you need to know when the house was first built. This determines what is the base flying star influence of the house. For houses built before 2004 (period 7 houses), such houses will typically retain the Period 7 house Qi, unless a major renovation or at least symbolic fly over or if the house is too old (Qi will also slowly fly over). So it is important for houses built before 2004, to check if any major renovation was done. Only then can we determine if the house may have flown over. In any case, after we check the period 7, then we can see if the house benefit from period 8. Most house direction such as NE/SW facing house, would benefit better if you fly the house over to the period 8. If so then, advise will be given to recommend a fly over. This is typically the correct way to evaluate the house. As a house built in period 7, won't immediately take up period 8 qi. Unless, of course, you indicate that you will perform a major renovation to the house after you buy it. Then, there is no need to check the period 7 house luck as any major renovation will fly the house over to period 8 house luck. Otherwise, the house should be assessed asa period 7 house luck, and another option to consider whether it is good to fly over to period 8 or not. Usually, not the other way around. Hope that clarifies the issues. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  11. Dear Blue Chocs, blue chocs wrote: First of all, I would like to express my utmost appreciation to you and your very informative and helpful web-site. Especially for those of us who are not able to read Chinese, this web-site is akin to a Godsend. Glad you enjoy our website blue chocs wrote: However, for one of the checks DOB: 5 July 1976, 7.30pm, the free report generated showed that he (yes, it is a male) an Earth Dragon but many Chinese horoscopes indicates that the year 1976 is the year of the Fire Dragon. Why is it different? The report does indicate that the person is of Strong YangEarth element. But surely, it does not mean that his horoscope is Earth Dragon, yes? Actually, if you only focus on the year 1976 is a Fire Dragon. So this is generally correct if you consider the year of birth. But what you need to know is that for every year, depending on which day you are born, there can be a water / wood / fire / earth / metal person born in the Fire Dragon year. In the case of the DOB: 5 Jul 1976, this person is born on the Earth day, and after all the elements were calculated, it is determined to be a Strong Earth. Therefore, it is more accurate to say that this person is a Strong Earth born in the Fire Dragon year. So his base element would be a Strong Earth. blue chocs wrote: From the free report generated, it shows that he does not have any Metal in his 4 pillars. As such, in order to bring about balance to the elements, it would be best if he dresses in white most of the time? Also, in the 5 elements, I understand that the Metal element concerns children. If the person is severely lacking in the Metal element, does it mean that he will need to have children or have more children in order to bring about a balance? We normally go by two ways to define which is the elements a person lack. The basic way is:- 1. As a Strong Earth, it means this person is strong Earth because:- a) Eitherthis personhas too much Earth b) Or this person has too much Fire c) Or this person has too much Fire and Earth Therefore, asa Strong Earth, his favourable elements would be Metal/Water/Wood elements in general. If you go into more deeper analysis, then you need to consider the balance of the five element. ie what is the percentage of each of the element. This will more clearly show you what element is most preferred. The ideal would be to have exactly 20% of each of the five element to be in perfect harmony. So whatever elements is less than 20% will mean he lacks too little of it. Whatever element is over 20% is too much so should avoid. For example if the percentage of Metal (10%) / Water (0%) / Wood (30%). This means that for this Strong Earth, Water is his most favourable element, Metal is next, while Wood is more than enough. So this person won't benefit from having more Wood. Therfore, his most favourable element would be Water, followed by Metal. So when you know the exact percentage breakdown, you will be able to fine tune exactly which element is lacking most, and which one should avoid. Once you understand that, you then need to know that five element can be related to career/colours/direction/shapes etc. You can refer to this link:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net So colours is just one of the way to add more of the element's a person lack. The other is by house facing, suitable career, even people around you etc. The more in your favour, the better your overall luck. Hope that helps. Generally, it is not really a feng shui item or product. Just a decorative form of lighting feature. No issue in general to use it. In terms of best feng shui location, it is related more towards crystal. Under the feng shui, areas where there is auspicious mountain star (ie star 8/9/1 for period 8 houses, or 7/8/9 for period 7 houses), should benefit from having some form of mountain star feature. I put two "?" marks to show where we were thinking of putting the door.we want there to be three windows and a door. The room is 12 feet by 16 feet. It has not been built yet. Only the foundation. Any advice you have would be greatly appreicated! Generally, for such questions, it is best you seek professional analysis to assess your current house and suggest the best positions after considering all the factors. I can only advise you here on some of the shapes and forms that I noted. 1) Given you have a french door entrance, the door in the new bedroom should not be opposite as it will consitute a Qi leak. So the door opening from the side would be better. Or not directly opposite another door would be better. 2) As for the bed, normally we select the bed position that will be suitable to the person who will be using the bedroom. If it is a guest, bedroom then it should be position where you can sleep and see the door. Such as in this link:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm Hope that helps. My husband is planning to change his office's window to a back door in case of fire. I've heard that change window to door isa big 'no no' in FengShui so I'd likesome advice from Feng Shui experts on our case. Generally, when you change a door or window, the Qi of the house will likely be affected. Especially, if the door or window happens to be the frontage/backdoor location. It would appear that the window you are attempting to change will fall in the badkdoor area. So yes, it would affect the feng shui of the house. Thus, it is best you carefully analyse the impact of the change first before you do it. As it may alter the qi of the house especially if your hosue is built before period 8 (before 2004). I cannot change my facing direction because my table is fixed and cannot be moved. Is there anything i can do to improve, since I cannot move to another area or my desk.?Thanks Generally, in an office environment. Unless you are holding key managerial positions, you are often allocated to a work area which you will have very little options to make changes. So it is unlikely that you can change the sitting positions. So the only other thing you can do is simply to improve either your home feng shui (which is something you can do), or improve your own ba zi luck through wearing favourable colours to boost up your luck. A person's luck is influenced by the Heaven, Earth and Human Luck. Heaven Luck is luck that is given to you, so having favourable element/career/colours etc will improve your given luck. Earth Luck is luck from your home and surrounding. Having a good house can adversely influence your ba zi luck. Human Luck is your own hard work and relationship luck. So where you cannot correct your office luck, then you work on improving your ba zi and home luck to offset the influence. Hope that helps. In the modern society, as both(husband and wife) alsowork for income. There person who earn moreis can beconsidered the breadwinnerproviding for most of the needs of the house. Should both earn about the same or the income is not very much apart, it is best to still take the husband sinceunder theTraditional Chinese system, he is still deemed the head of the house. So unlessyour income difference is verybig, then it is better to consider yourself as the breadwinner. If not, it is stillbetter to consider your husband.
