Is it alright to hang it on a wall that faces the side of the Goddess of Mercy that I have on an altar and the photo also faces the storeroom? A family photo is a private and personal. It is often kept in your family album where possible. Even if you wish to blow up a picture to hang in your home, you also want to keep in private, so really the best location to place such family photo is in the privacy of your study room or even hall way for example. Small photos on table or desk etc is perfectly fine, but big photos that are hung say in the living room or any wall that may beseen when astrangerpasses your home. I mean this is like advertising to everyone who stays or lives in the house. Then everyone will know who you are where you stay and easy for people to harm/distrub you. For example, thieves can know who you are and monitor/track your movement then break into your know when you are not around. Photos also should not face the kitchen, as the kitchen often have lots of knife and cutting which can be like cutting your own family photo if you let the photo face the kitchen. The above are the general points to take note. The rest as long as it does not fall under any of the above points, should generally be ok. annie koh wrote: I would like to know the considerations to look into before I hang a family photo on the wall. 4. Dear Michael, Michael Chan wrote: I'm very confused and concerned as u can see different periods will affect the way I live and place remedies for the flat. Is there any text or source u can help refer me to for more understanding. I thank you again for your advice. Let me ask you a simple question, are you planning to do a major renovation to your new house or not? If you are, then you do not have to worry to much about what period the house was built in. As you can force the Qi to fly over to the period 8. In fact, this is often the most recommended for older house, simply because the period 6/7 house qi will be fading away anyway. So you won't benefit from it as much flying the house over to a period 8 and activating the water/mountain star 8. Especially, if the house benefits from the period 8. If you are not, then that is where you will always have problem determining the which period the house used to be:- 1.Basically, the Qi of the house is determined usually by when the roof is covered. That is why if you do stay in a landed property, should you ever remove the roof completely and rebuild the roof, the house Qi will be based on when you completed building the roof. 2. The Qi of the house is also influence by the structure or layout of the house. For example, if you knock down a room wall, then the Qi of the house will change. The above 1 and 2 are major forms of renovations that can influence the Qi of the house. 3. But when it comes to apartment there is only one roof at the top of the building. Each individual owner will have their own roof, but only the highest level will have the direct roof. So the removal of roof to signify the change of Qi is not possible right? So instead, the hacking of walls and renovations would be the best way to determine the Qi of the house. 4. For landed property, the above point 1 and 2 are easy to apply. But for apartments, point 1 will be hard, so point 2 is the more likely thing to use to guage which year to take as the birth chart of the house. 5. Also, for apartment where there are many levels and apartments, each will have their own Qi. As long as the house remains exactly as it was built, then you take the year it was built based on when the block was built or at least when the house is fit for people to stay. For example, if a development may be built in 1983, but because it is only declared fit for occupation in 1984. Then it is considered period 7. This is because prior to that it is not ready for anyone to stay in. Also, as more people stay in the place, the Qi will be active, otherwise, it is as good as Dead Qi. 6. Anyway, you should also know that even for older house, as you cross over to new period, the existing luck will slowly fade away. This means that houses built in period 7 (ie 1984), will slowly fly over to period 8 even without any major renovations especially if the house is as old as 20-years. I mean houses also need repair, so some of these repair if major enough will cause the Qi to fly over as well. 7. Also, even if the above renovations work are not done, if you do symbolic flying over, you can still slowly effect the Qi to fly over to the new period. By symoblically painting the entire roof of the house and having at least 3 major celebrations. So you see, for an older house, it is very hard to tell you for sure which is the true year the house was built. Based on what you have provided in your post, the house built falls under the point 5. You said the development was built in 1983 but it was not sold for people to say until 1984. As people move in, some people may renovate their house, so the house Qi will likely have changed. Also, as more people stay in the place, the house will then have Qi. That is why I said it is more likely a period 7 house luck. But having said that, it really does not matter what is the old period if you do intend to have a major renovation. If you do have the renovations, then your house Qi will fly over to the period 8. Since, period 7 is over, you should try to look for houses built in period 8 to ensure, that you do not have to try to retain the existing period 7 house Qi as it is much harder to retain the old Qi, since sooner or later the older Qi will fade away. 5. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am one month pregnant and I have heard that according to feng shui principles it is a bad idea to move while pregnant. But my apartmennt is not suitable for a child and has many questionable attributes so in my case would moving still be a bad idea? Which is worse, a bad apartment or moving while pregnant? Why is moving while pregnant a bad idea anyway? Yes, it is not good to move while you are pregnant. This is simple logic, moving often requires strength and often easier for accidents to occur, people knocking into you while moving. So if you move while you are pregnant, the chances of miscarriages is higher. So it is never wise to move while you are pregnant. You can still move to the new house, but you should not be involved in any of the moving process. ie leave it to your other family members or profesional movers. You should not be around when moving so as to avoid any accidents. Anonymous wrote: But my apartmennt is not suitable for a child and has many questionable attributes so in my case would moving still be a bad idea? This is more towards the child is not suitable to the house or does not have a bedroom. This does not mean you cannot move, but rather that the house will not bring the child luck. I mean you can't do much about it now as since the house is already bought before the child is born, there is no way to know if the child has a suitable bedroom to use before you buy it. All you can do about this portion, is to find the least inauspicious bedroom for him to stay, and choose the right colours scheme, or best bed position for the child. As for your other portion about many questionable attributes. I am not sure what you are referring to so cannot comment. Refer to this chart for the five element and colours:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Just take note that colours such as Wood/Fire/Earth may need to be applied more carefully applied, as you need to also check the flying star in the sector. 11. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm always confused whether I'm born in the year of the boar or dog.As indicated by your free BaZi Element report, my month and year pillars read as follows: - This is exactly the reason why we stick to only achinese lunar calendar format for all analysis and concepts. You see under most chinese horoscope/ chinese astrology analysis, the Pig year will only officially star on the 18 Feb 2007. Since most celebrate the new year on 18 Feb 2007, this is the official start of the year. However, under another calendar format we call the seasonal calendar (Xia Calendar), it typically starts earlier. This is used more to determine the start of each season. So under the Season Calendar, the start of the season may come earlier. Usually on the 4/5 of each month. You see many chinese horoscope and chinese astrology bases it's concept on the moon. Thus, until the 18 Feb 2007 for example, it is still Dog year. If you use a different calendar format, such as the ba zi based on Xia Calendar, that means that it treats you as Dog year, but when you use the Chinese Astrology it shows as Pig year. So how can that be correct? How can you related two contrasting horoscope sign to check for love compatibility or check for your astrology signs when one tell you you are a dog another tells you are a pig? We know of some ba zi analysis whichmixes theXia calendar and they convert the month pillar to the Xia month while the rest of the hour/day/year is Lunar calendar. The more recent generation, decided that this isn't correct, thus they converted to the full Xia calendar. Thus, you this explains why you get that different year in some of the ba zi. In either way, still the the same problem remains, how can you relate the chinese horoscope and chinese astrology if they are using Lunar to the Ba Zi using Xia calendar? Of course, there will some sites that say that you then have to use the Xia calendar in the Chinese Astrology. But you cannot convert the Chinese Astrology to Xia simply because it is based on the Moon location in relations to the other stars. Since there is a Ba Zi analysis method using Lunar Calendar. So this is themost correct form is to stick to the Lunar Calendar. This way there is absolutely no conflict in analysis results. This is why our website from day one chooses to use the Chinese Lunar system for our ba zi as well as all the feng shui concepts. The Xia calendar is still analysedeven in the Lunar Ba Zi Chart because you still need to check the seasons is correct, but the chart is all shown as your lunar chart. This way irregardless whether you use the Chinese Horoscope or Chinese Astrology, all your horoscope signs will be exactly the same thus possible to relate all the concepts together for a much more accurate analysis. You cannot have different calendar system in your analysis, otherwise, you will get very different interpretations of your yearly signs. ie one tells you you are a boar, the other tells you are a pig. Then how to relate the combinations and clashes of the horoscope signs? This is like saying thatan Apply equals an Orange. So you will be pig horoscope sign as per our website. In fact, if you use all our tools from our website, you will be assured that all tools are of the same format which will ensure that you can inter-relate the analysis. But Xia Calendar is still necessary in a few portions of the analysis where seasons of birth is needed. But it should not be used as the default calendar between the different concepts. 12. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: A completed bare* block of flats with 80+ units built in 1983. Sold to owners in Feb1 1984. All owners take possession of their own apartment flats and start their own internal renovations like flooring (laying of tiles, parquet..etc), house painting, instaling cabinets, furniture..etc.., before moving in. Although the block roof was completed prior to Feb 1984, does all these major internal renovations by the 80+ units convert the block to Period 7 units or remain at Period 6? The house will be a period 7. This is because though most of the units are built in 1983. As you mentioned, it was only sold to owners in 1984. This means that the unit were still bare and empty so as good as no one yet lived in the place. Flying Star depends on Qi, so if no one stays in the place at all, it is not yet considered as occupied, thus as good as an empty house. This means that should you buy it, then you have the option of converting it to a period 8 house if it has better Qi. Anyway, for older house period, the likelyhood of the Qi slowly flying over is also possible. So often very likely it would have already flown over to the new period Qi due to renovations and etc that may have taken place throughout the years. Hope that helps. 13. Dear Linda, Linda Tung wrote: I was wondering if the score of these deities can be combined with your spouses? Sorry, but you cannot just combine the ba zi's ten deity. This characteristics of whether you have a very potential bussiness accumen iscannot be just combined from two different charts. Also, frankly, only a very few handful of people really have such a special characteristics. This ten deities often is the individual's characteristics. So you cannot just supplement that from another person's chart. However, though you cannot combine the two chart's ten deities, partnering with an element that is favourable for you, can ensure that the partner can boost the areas you lack and thus make the business succeed. The way each person helps each other is for example, if one is a weak wood and the other is a Strong water. The weak wood needs more water so the other partner so happens to be water, will supplement him. While the Strong water needs someone to help keep him in check, so the weak wood is just right for him. So this way, given that both have the right elements they need, they wil be able to take advantage of their wealth period when they encounter it. So this way the business is more likely to succeed as each can draw on the other's strength. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Is there anything I can do to counter act this? As you mentioned, there is no other way to move it so nothing much you can do to force that direction to be suitable. As the eight house, simply tells you whether which direction is good or bad. If it is bad, it is best you avoid it. The only other way to minimise the impact could be through improving other areas such as your ba zi element. Check out what element your husband belongs to and then ensure that the colours of the clothings is his favourable element. Or if you can paint/decorate the room, ensure that the colours you use is favourable to him. Usually, in situation where you cannot correct a problem from one concept, you improve or compensate the luck from other areas. The most common would be the individual ba zi, next can be to ensure that the house luck is good so that your husband can still gain luck from the house. Hope that helps. The flying star number analysis only helps to tell you whether the unit is considered auspicious or not compared to another unit above or below you. Basically, that is about all. That analysis will only happen if the stars of the sector contains the mountain star is 6 and the water star 2. So I won't worry about it. 17. Dear Anon, Yes, under the horoscope sign Ox and Ram are not compatible. However, you are a Strong Fire Ram, while your husband is Strong Metal Ox. Your husband benefit from you as your Strong Fire helps to keep his Strong Metal in control. Your husband is also your wealth to your Strong Fire. So though your horsocope isn't the most compatible, but your five element is compatible. Therefore, your incompatibility isn't the most incompatible pair. So it isn't really that bad. 19. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hello, we have just started house hunting and to our dismayed, landed property prices has gone up like crazy as compared to Nov last year. I was told by someone who knew a little bit about FS advising that we should look for a property on the last quarter of 2007 or best in 2008 whereby there will be a correction to the current uptrend. What are your advise please as you are a professional master. Thank you. Frankly, although we are able to forecast an individual's luck for the entire life, not every decisions to be made based on feng shui. Investment Opportunities (ieinvesting in stocks and shares)for example cannot be made based on feng shui luck forecast. Instead, it should be made by examining the high and lows of the counter as well as how you good the business model of the company that you plan to invest. If you do careful evaluation, you will be able to know if the company has good business growth potential, and thus minimise your risk when making investment. This is far better than basing on buying when your luck is high or low. Buying a house is for having a place to stay. So there is really no good or bad time to buy a house. The only consideration is whether the house has good feng shui or not. Especially if you are planning to buy a house for long term investment. Isn't it better to buy when the prices are low so that you do not need to take so much loan, and when the market is doing well, to be able to gain value from the house when the prices are up. Same goes for business opportunities. You should based on whether there is demand for your goods and services rather than basing on whether you are suitable or whether this year is lucky for you or not. Same goes for romance. I mean even if your ba zi tells you that there is no romance luck for that year. That does not mean you cannot get married. Starting a family is a step to increasing your wealth as children are wealth to a person. So not every decisions to be made based on feng shui. You have to really use the common sense approach to it. Meaning, that you can have a feng shui forecast to know generally when is good or bad time. But more important to that, you also have to use the common sense approach. So back to your questions. If you are buying a house because you need the rooms for your family, then by all means search and buy it when you found a good a suitable one. If you are buying a house for investment purpose, then it makes sense to buy when the price is low or when you see potential growth in that location. Don't rely on feng shui to make such decisions. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  20. Dear Delia, delia diaconu wrote: Woul he get along very well wth a sister wich self-element would be strong earth? Under the five element compatibility analysis:- Strong Woodvs Strong Earth (sister). Strong wood helps to keep the sister's strong earth from being too strong. So it is favourable to her. Strong Earth is wood's wealth. So this means that your son's sister is his wealth element. So again this is favourable. So I have to say that the five element compatibility should be ok. Of course, when it comes to relationship between each other no matter how compatible, some conflicts may still arise from time to time. But in general, both benefit from each other's company. So compatibility is good. For any relationship, there is always a binding or common element that can help to improve the relationship. In this case, it would be metal element to help minimise any confilcts and improve harmony. The rest depends on the human luck factor (ie both person must be able to give and take to maintain the harmony). Hope that helps. Is it still not a good flying star in this case ? Can you tell me at what case west direction is good for west person ? (You said NE dan SW is better for west person). Thank you, Cahaya Harapan If you are a west group person, and if you are looking for period 8 house. Then North-East/South-West has the two most favourable flying star house luck. Also, it will fall under your favourable eight house direction. So yes, NE/SW will have better house luck than a period 8 West facing house. This is generally the case. Take note:That even though the house direction are generally good, the auspicious flying star sectors should fall in the right locations of the layout to benefit from the good luck. Otherwise, say if you stay in a NE house but all the good stars falls in the toilet or storeroom or yard areas where it does not benefit you, then it is not good. So whether or not a flying star house direction is auspicious is one thing. Finding a layout that can benefit from the chart and still have rooms suitable for every family member is equally important. West facing house still have auspicious flying star in the front. So it is still one of the auspicious direction for homes. As to whether or not it is the best direction, as mentioned depends a lot on whether the layout has the rooms in the right sector to benefit or not. So whether it is NE/SW/W if the layout cannot benefit from the chart, then it is not as good. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research.

So it is mixed Fire/Earth to be more accurate. You see there is a difference between weak water and strong water:- 1) weak water is one where you lack metal and water. Thus, metal and water is you favourable. While, wood / earth is unfavourable. Whilefire (your wealth is unfavourable), unless you have more metal/water to strengthen your weak water so that it is strong enough to control it. 2) Strong water is one where you have lots of metal and water already making you strong, so elements which weaken or help to keep your strong water from being overly strong. So Wood which helps to exhaust, while Earth which destroy water and even Fire which is your wealth is favourable for you. If you are a weak water, then yes, running a restaurant isn't favourable for you. Your son is born on Wood day. So the main element is wood. So what favours wood? Also, the strengthen of the element will impact how weak or strong each element is:- Favourable elements (25%+27%=52%): Water (as it WaterhelpsWood to grow) -You have 3 weak water which represents 25% Wood (as it add strengthen to Wood) - You have 2 Strongest woot which represents 27% Unfavourable elements (22%+2%=24%): Metal (destroy your wood) - You have 4 weakest Metal which represents 22% Earth (destroy your favourable water element) - You have 1 extremely weak earth which represents 2% Fire element is neutral as it exhaust your wood (weaking it), and destroy Metal (which helps you). So if you must add, you need to add to both your favourable and unfavourable. So it cancels it's own effects out. So since you have more favourable (52%) vs unfavourable (24%). Which is a 28% more. So you are clearly a Strong Wood rather than weak wood. So once you are determined as a Strong Wood, that makes Fire/Earth/Metal as your favourable element. Earth is your most favourable element simply because you have only 2% of it. Next will between Fire and Metal as you have 22% of it. So your most favourable element is Earth, followed by Fire or Metal element. For your unfavourable elements, you are strong because of more Wood (27%) rather Water (25%). As at now, you have sufficient of these elements. So you should avoid having more water/wood until you have suffficient of Earth/Fire/Metal. Once you have sufficient of Earth/Fire/Metal. You see the goal is to attain a perfect balance of exactly 20% of each of the five element. I can say about your son's chart, is overall it is well balanced. All the percentage is about 22+% with exception of Earth (2%). So that means that basically, what the child lack is Earth. But don't forget, as you add earth, your earth percentage will increase, but other element percentage will also decrease. Also, depending on which period, your percentage of the five element will also change from period to period. So sometimes you need more of one element, other times you may need a little of the other elements. o just adding earth alone will not be enough. Which is why you need to add more Earth, with a little of Fire and Metal. Only then will your chart be balanced. So that is why your son is a Strong Wood as opposed to weak Wood. At least this has been how our website has been assessing the different ba zi charts and why we say it is weak or strong. 25. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm a strong metal rabbit. I need your advice as to what kind of bracelet and in what colour best suits me - gold, silver, crystal, etc,in green, blue, orange, etc. You can choose either colour or gemstones type favourable to yourStrong Metal. 1) Strong Metal, generally means that Water/Wood/Fire are favourable elements. So these are the colours: Water (blue/black/gray), Wood (green/brown) and Fire (red). 2) The other way is go by the type of gemstones:- Garnet - Fire Amethyst - Fire Aquamarine - Water Diamond - Metal Emerald - Wood Pearl - Metal Ruby - Fire Peridot - Wood Sapphire - Fire Opal - Earth Topa - Earth Turquoise - Water Hope that helps.
