  1. Dear Users, I noticed that recently there are many questions which revolves around these Qn: My husband and I are opposite Kua I am and East Group and my spouse is West Group Different suitable directions between family members how to apply feng shui? So I am compiling this information together to help users facing this problem to understand how to apply feng shui. A. APPLY GIVE AND TAKE APPROACH This is really a very common issue that most couples face. However, it isn't really too difficult to resolve. All you need to do is to apply the give and take solution. ie. The house must be favourable to the Breadwinner. So the breadwinner will gain luck from the house. Then the bedroom should be allocated to the spouse so that she will be able to draw luck from the bedroom. The most important is to have the breadwinner having a house suitable to him/her. The rest of the family member should just have a bedroom that is suitable for them to stay in. If you follow this rule, it shouldn't be hard apply this concept. View this link to see an example:- URL: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=21041&new B. DETERMINE HOUSE FACING DIRECTION 1) Remember, that the house facing direction is determined as follows:- i) For landed property (bungalow/terrace), you should take the facing of the house or property. ii) For apartments (2nd-7th level), you should just stand at the center ofyour main door looking outwards. This is the reading for your main door. iii) For apartments (8th level and up), you should take the facing from the living room/balcony facing. Just stand at your living room/balcony and take a compass reading looking outwards. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm C. APPLY EIGHT HOUSE FOR HUSBAND & WIFE Firstly, you should confirm your facing direction based on which floor or level you stay in. See above Determine House Facing Direction. Priority for the house to be suitable to the breadwinner. Then the other person to stay in a suitable bedroom. 1) For the Breadwinner (ie your spouse):- a) Should have the house in his suitable facing(avoiding Death or Disaster) b) If the house is not suitable, then at least must sleep in the most suitable bedroom. c) If both above cannot be achieved, then you can only attempt to improve your luck by making sure you correct all the feng shui leaks in your house and enhance your own ba zi luck:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net 2. For all other family members:- a) The house need not be suitable to them. All they need is to stay in the bedroom sector that is most favourable to them. Anonymous wrote: Sleeping position: S - death for me; longevity for him (feet face bedroom door - tomb position) Priority from most important to least important:- a) House suibility to breadwinner b) Bedroom sector suitable to the person c) Best placement of bed based on the shape an form placement URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm d) Sleeping on the side of the bed that is closer to your favourable sector. e) Bed position is least most important after the above points are taken care off. If at least b), c)and d) are ok, then even if e) is in the worst position, at least it will offset the impact. D. APPLY EIGHT HOUSE FOR ALL FAMILY MEMBERS Everyone in the family will have different directions. However, what is important is that you first detemine who is the breadwinner, who is the spouse and the rest of the family. 1. The house must suit the breadwinner. The rest of the family member need not really have to be suitable to the house. 2. The master bedroom for the breadwinner should be given to the breadwinner's spouse if the two person are opposite Gua. 3. The rest of the family just needs to have a suitable bedroom for them to sleep in. 4. Each person should then be able to position their own bedroom according to the best bed position/work position/study position depending on who uses the room. 5. Colours scheme of the room should fit the single/both person using that room. Often two person will have a common element that can help improve the elements. 6. Common rooms like living room, you place furnitures that is in the best shapes and form rather than just to fit or suit any single person. As such rooms are shared between different people. E. FREE EIGHT HOUSE CALCULATORS Here is the link to the free eight house report to determine what is my favourable / unfavourable elements:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h.htm That is about all. If you apply the above method, it should not be dificult at all to find a compromise that will work for everyone Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  2. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I heard 2 different things the first one is that i have to allign the bagua to the front door. the second is that i have to use real directions (north, southwest, etc) Which one is true? Actually, when you hang a bagua, the purpose is to help deflect the Sha Qi especially cutting into your main door or frontage. So you do not just hang it there just because someone tell you it is good. So once you understand the purpose of the bagua (ie to deflect sha qi), therefore you place it at the poition to help reflect the sha qi that is affecting you. You don't just place it at the door or at a position. You place it where it helps to delect the sha qi. ie if the sha qi is cutting at your living room window, you place the sha qi at the living room window. If the sha qi is at the main door, you place it at the main door. If you do not have a Sha Qi, then you do not need to place the bagua at all. It is that simple. Hope that helps. 3. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm setting up new biz and would like to know what color is suitable for my company logo. I'm in electrical trading & installation works. Understand yellow, grey and blue are suitable colors. Pls comment on this. Electrical Trading often deals with wires (Metal), while installation works is more Wood as it involves creating electrical setup/frame work for the house. So I have to classify your business as more Metal/Wood elements. Typically, when we want to create more suitable colours we go :- 1. Adding elements that will make the elements stronger. ie. for Metal to grow, you add Earth (yellow). For Wood to grow, you add Water (blue/black/gray). So the colours you proposed are ok. 2. The other way is to symolically create wealth. ieWealth for Metal is Wood (green), whileWealth forWood is Earth (yellow). So you go for either of these as your base colour. Then if you own the business yourself, then choose colours that will also benefit you so as to ensure you benefit from your business. ie if you are a weak wood, then water/wood colours will be more suitable for you as your company corporate colours. Another way, is to a harmonious element flow, iemetal (white/gold) -
  4. Dear Sim Oh, Sim Oh wrote: I have a desk facing 170 degree South which is a corner of the living room, it's a corner desk. Working on the desk has always lead to unproductive work and stress. Isee several potentialproblems with such a layout. 1. The corner from the cupboard will be cutting into you whenever you sit and work. Really better to have a rectangluar table that extends from the cupboard. 2. Also, it is often better to work on a rectangle shaped table rather than such triangle shaped table. 3. The facing direction you have indicated, means that you will be hit by the West sun light if there is no other room to shield this room. I cannot be certain because you only provided you room with the window position. So not sure whether it will be affected by the afternoon sun or not. Rooms affected by afternoon sun can be very warm and very hard for anyone to concentrate on work/study. One solution is to install heat control films, day curtain etc. 4. You should check your Eight House (4 good and 4 bad directions) to see if it is asuitable direction for you to work. Better to sit facing your good position that is not glaring. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h.htm Sim Oh wrote: I can't change the location or shift my desk what can I do ?! my back also has no support agaisnt any wall. Actually, as long as your table is anchored to the wall, it should be ok. The problem is not so much you do not have any support but rather the problems I mentioned above will be the more critical issues. It is really hard to proposed any suggestion if you cannot change your layout. I have listed some of the solutions above. See if any of them help. Otherwise, beside shifting the position, not sure what else can help you here. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  5. Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: I'm thinking about adding a roof for the building of my business. The roof will be a metal roof painted RED. The building outside walls are a very, very light bluish white. The reason I'm thinking of having a RED roof is because fire (red roof) burns metal (white walls) to produce wealth. Is my reasoning correct? Is there anythingBAD about having a red metal roof? Your concept for the creating wealth is correct. ie Fire burn Metal = Wealth. However, it is a VERY BAD ANDNOT PRACTICALto use a Metal roof for several reasons:- 1. Metal roof will trap heat much faster than normal clay tilesor concrete roofs or glass or wooden roof. This way, heat will be transferred to the rooms below it. Similiar to like an oven. 2. Metal can expand when hot. If too much expansion occurs, the roof might pop or shift out of place or crack the side of the structure supporting the roof. 3. Metal (unless stanless steel), will also be prone to rust. The roof is supposed to shelter the house from not just sun but rain. So it is not practical to use Metal as roof. You can have the metal structure, but a complete metal roof. 4. Metal can be very noisy when raining. Imagine when it rains, you hear the echo of the rain dropinside your home like a hi-fi set on LOUD! Unless of course you like HEAVY METAL music, then it will be music to your ears *joke* So it is much more practical to use the the modern day red clay tiles, concrete or glass or wooden roof (for houses built of wood). Just as long as you choose red roof tiles or paint the roof red, it is sufficient to represent fire/metal. Hope that helps. 6. Dear Anon, Nntp Guest wrote: My living room is a west room and all walls are currently painted white. The room is too white, especially the West wall, which is the largest wall (quite large). I want to paint it and was hoping to paint it red -- is this a big no-no? What color should I use? The safest colour or most neutral colours to use is always white. This is because white is Metal. And most sectors that requirecorrection in flying star often requires theuse of Metal. So it is the safest colour to propose or suggest wheneverwe have no idea or do notwant to consider the flying stars. Bright Red(Fire) orBright Yellow (Earth) colours should always be avoid when you are unsure of the flying stars of the sector as it might activate the Illness/Misfortune Stars (stars 2/5). Green (brown), is another colour that you have to be careful as it can activate the lawsuit/quarrels stars. You have to check the flying star of the living to be able to assess this. Use the free flying star chart in our member area:- URL: http://login.geomancy.net Other than that, most colours if you choose the very light offwhite should generally still be ok. The next thing is consider what element you belong to under your ba zi. That can help you choose a colour favourable to you, or an element that will harmonise with most of your family members. You can use this link to determin your favourable colours:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm So make use of the tools to help you make the best assessment. Without knowing the flying stars in your living room or your ba zi element, it is not right for us to just propose a colour. As it might create problems if the bad stars are activated or if the colour is unfavourable to your ba zi. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  7. Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: I'ma strong water. What's the best car color for me, red, green, or yellow? Strong Water normally means that Wood (green/brown), Fire (red), Earth (yellow)are your favourable. Fire (red) will be wealth to Strong Water. If I am not wrong you have previously purchased a ba zi premium report, right? Check your five element percentage in your ba zi overview summary report, see which element you lack most. The element you have least percentage among the favourable element, means that you lackthat element. So that element/colour becomes your most effective element/colour to go for. Hope that helps. The job scope you have involves multiple element:- sales/marketing = Fire business development = Wood web and graphics design / programming= Water So overall, your career is Wood with mixed water/wood/fire job scope. As a Strong Earth, you should focus less on Fire as fire makes you too strong, especially so if your fire percentage is too much in your ba zi. Overall still considered a suitable career. Does this mean that Ishould notdo any digging in the N-NW 330 deglocation or the Eastlocation of my property? Yes, that is correct. The Grand Duke has a greater impact so N-NW must be avoided where possible. Location in Conflict is the disagreement or incompatiblity of the Animal Signs type of location, so have a lesser impact. So if can avoid, you should avoid any renovations in either these two sectors. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center Applied Feng Shui Research.

Would the bagua area that contains the location of his bathroom affect 1st floor's feng shui ? Thank you Yes, the toilet especially if it is located above will definately affect you. The most common reason is that what happen if the toilet leaks, your room below will be the first one affected by the sewage water dripping down etc. Secondly, the toilet is said to have the most dirty qi within the whole house, so of course having a toilet closeby especially above you. This is similiar to having the toilet located just above the main door. Which dirty the Qi. So yes, it is considered bad feng shui and also not an easily fixable. 19. Dear Sharlene, Sharlene Soh wrote: Qn 1: Could you please advise what is the impact to a person whoworks in an industry belonging to his unfavourable element but the jobscope is of a favourable element? and vice versa? Of course that won't be as favourable as having both a industry and job scope that is favourable. So it will be a mixed element career. As to whether good or bad, really depends on the element. For example, a weak wood person, if the industry is metal, but the job scope is water. Metal destroy weak wood which would seem to be bad, but as water helps wood, and metal actually makes water stronger. Therefore, this industry helps to boost the job scope element, thus making it a suitable element. So it really depends on how the elements interact with your element. Also, the percentage of element you lack of each element will make a difference. ie even if an element is unfavourable, but if your percentage is very low, some of it is actually good for you. Sharlene Soh wrote: Qn 2: I've read at http://talk.geomancy.net that fashion falls under Fire element and clothing falls under Earth element. To be frank, even for careers depending on what exactly you special in the element can contain mixed element. In general, the alamac is simply a forecast of good and bad days irregardless of who is using it for. ie it means it is a day that is generally good for everyone on this year to make use of. You still need to check whether your horoscope sign is compatible etc before one actually use it. Otherwise, it will still harm you (if the day clashes with you). The personal auspicious date is one that considers your personal ba zi. This means it considers whether your chart has any clashes with the day. So if you know your own personalised date, then it is better to follow your own personalised date. Otherwise, it is still ok to follow the alamac as long as the horoscope sign does not clash or harm you. It is also ok to follow the general alamac if you are choosing a date for many people (without any one being the important person involved for that event). Hope that helps. But if it is of certain element or material or colour, it can still be related to the five element and thus used to help boost your own luck. So far you are relating it to colour, so that is correct if based on the colour. For crystals or any precious stones (Gemstones), you can also determine the type of stones as an indicator:- Garnet = Fire Amethyst = Fire Aquamarine = Water Diamond = Metal Emerald = Wood Pearl = Metal Ruby = Fire Peridot = Wood Sapphire = Fire Opal = Earth Topa = Earth Turquoise = Water I really do not know those item look or what material it is made of, so hard to tell you for sure what elements it contains. But the colours you have mentioned seems to be correct. Likelyhood it is also some form of metal as it is in form of bracelet that holds it is made of that material. Please advise if there is preventive measures and what is the luck cycle for next year. Thank you Just based on you the brief information you have provided. You can try to boost your luck by improving on the elements you lack. ie. You are a Strong Earth, so favourable elements likely are Metal, Water, Wood elements. How much exactly you lack or need from each element really depends on the actual percentage in your ba zi chart (this information is only known in a paid report). This is not likely a good year for you because this is an Earth Dog year which is definately bad for Strong Earth Rooster. But in general, if you can boost your elements ie Metal to exhaust your excess Earth, Wood element to destroy your Earth. It should help curb the excess Earth element that is affecting your luck. You can refer to this link for five element and characteristics:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Having more of your favourable colours (clothes/car colour/room colour), a favourable career, a favourable house facing element, or people around you that are your favourable element will help you boost your luck. Of course not everything is easily corrected such as house element or career element. But if you can in future slowly correct them, your luck will also increase. The things you mostly can do is selecting the right colour, bedroom/office colour or anything you own. Getting more of the elements you lack, will help boost your overall luck. Meanwhile, keeping a low profile this year is something you need to do since your element and horoscope sign isn't so favourable. The rest is actually luck from your house (ie your feng shui of your home etc), which is beyond what this post can advise you on. Hope that helps. If you can find a direction that is both good for your eight house and bazi, that will be the most ideal direction to face whenever you have any business meeting or negotiations. A. Here is the link to where you can check on your ba zi:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm Simply determine what element you are and what is your favourable elements. Each favourable element can be related to a direction. So far based on your date of birth (WITHOUT THE HOUR so not sure if this is still correct if your hour is considered), you are a Strong Wood, so Fire (South) and Metal (NW/W) are favourable. B. You can determine your best eight house from this link:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h.htm If based on your eight house you are an East Group (N/S/E/SE), so South is the most ideal direction for you to face. As it is the common direction for both your eight house and ba zi. So it gives you the best luck for your business. Hope that helps.
