Dear KL lim, KL Lim wrote: Could anyone tell me howto correct/counter a bad sleeping positionif movingthe bedis not possible? In feng shui, you should correct whatever you can until they are not possible to be corrected. In your case, since it is no longer correctable, you can only attempt to enhance other areas such as the colour scheme of the room such that it favours yourself if your occupy the room alone. (ie. weak wood person, can paint the room blue=water to make yourself stronger). Of if you share a room with another person, then choose the element or colour of the decor that will fit both person. (ie. weak fire weak wood person, can paint the room in the common element Wood=green/brown). by doing so, you will enhance your ba zi luck which will help to offset the unsuitable sleeping position. Dear Sophia, Thanks for the re-attaching the attachment. As mentioned, the compass reading taken in the building has a high tendency to be affected by the building structure. Thus, a reading outside the house will always be more accurate. Especially, so for compasses that is not magnetically shielded. Hope that helps. Dear Hock Chuan, ong hock chuan wrote: Hi, i am staying on the 14th floor in an apartment..just would like to know how to take and from where should i take the compass direction ? Is it from the main entrance to the apartment or the main door to my unit or from my balcony ? As you are staying on the 14th floor, this falls under apartment (8th level and up). Thus, your facing direction is taken from your living room/balcony facing. So stand inside your home at your balcony or living room and take a reading looking outwards. That willl be your facing direction of the house. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Maria, maria cutrona wrote: I am having a problem on how to figure out my Eight house Report? According to my Month, day, year, and time of birth, I am a West person. Now when I look into the sleeping position regarding my bedrooom, kitchen, Dining, bathrooms, Garages, laundry, and great room, it does not coordinate what I am reading. I am now in the starting stage of building a home, and I am using the feng shui method. My bedroom has been placed in the South Location, my front door Faces West, My office is located on the West area, Master bath on the SE location. Kitchen is on the East, Laundry on the NE, Formal Dining room is on the NW, and this home slopes on the South East corner so they are giving me a walk out basement. Can you tell me if this is correct on the positioning of the room? I appreciate your help. Thanks, Maria Based on your post, I would strong recommend that you get professional help to really plan and advise you as eventhough theremay be free tools on our website that you can use. It is not really easy for you to know theory has great priority over the other. The problem you probably have right now is that, based on the Ba Zi analysis, you aredetermined to be a certain element and thus the ba zielement and direction, does notseem to tally or match the Eight Houseanalysis which only determine suitability. ie. Eight House does avery simple but effective analysisusingyourYEAR of birth. And it gives you 4 good and 4 bad direction. This concept is used only in small or micro levelusage. ie.Ba Ziis more detailedwhich uses year, month, day, & time of birth. However, the direction here is more applied to larger or macro level analysis. It is hard for both theories to give you the same reading as they are analysed on different information. So because of that, of course it makes it difficult to know which to follow. And that is why priorizing which theory and what is more important will come in. Unfortunately, unless you know all the concepts and what and why they are used in detail, it is hard for most people to be able to tell what comes first and what comes next. Thus, I am not at all surprised why you have difficulty to apply. Which is why I strongly recommend that you probably get professional help to advise you rather than to work it out yourself. Dear Sophia, Sophia Chia wrote: As toilet is not an ideal location next to the main entrance. If the kitchen location is next to the main entrance but there isn't toilet attached to it.. Is it okay. Generally, the reason why toilet next to the main door is the more major concern are two factors:- 1. The toilet bowl is where largest amount of waste and water leaks out of the house. 2. The toilet is also dirty and tends to have bad smell. So logically, if it is near your main door, even when guest enter into the house they will have to pass by the toilet, which isn't really that nice smell nor good. So imagine Qi enter into the house, the first thing is it is dirtied by the air from the toilet. How good is it? The kitchen is less of an issue as it is not really a dirty location, though I see where you are coming from where the kitchen as sink which might also have wealth leak. But on the other hand, the Kitchen does not just contain the sink, it also have the stove which provides for the family. So if it is located at the main door and it is a good location, you will be having not just a good house facing but a good kitchen location which symbolise wealth. So kitchen in generally cannot be compared in the same way as a toilet. As such, there is no real concern about a kitchen to be located near the front door as compared to a toilet. Hope that helps. The shoplot is at2nd floor.Must I take the readingfrom the ground floor as well. Attached the shoplotlayout for your reference. Firstly, there are not attachment in the post. The luopan because of the small compass can not give as good a reading as a quality compass. Thus, the more accurate reading is always the 2nd reading taken a distance away from the house in the same direction. Like you mentioned, even if South-West corner is good, but it is located inappropriately. Thus, no matter how you cannot use that area as your family area. Anonymous wrote: I am a strong fire and I find that i am very hot-tempered. I am sure this is affecting my family esp the kids.My husband also likes to do his work in our bedroom till past midnight and this is affecting my energy and rest. Generally, you have to find ways to control your excess fire. As a Strong fire, Earth, Metal and Wood are generall favourable elements for you. So under feng shui, if you can more areas in your life that is Earth, Metal and Wood, it will help you balance up your excess fire. You can refer to this link for the various five element and relationship:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net As for your husband working in the bedroom, maybe you can just talk to him and see how you can work an acceptable compromise. ie if he needs to work too late, maybe work in the study or living room. If this is bothering you, then you should discuss and try to work out an arrangement that will be acceptable to both parties. Anonymous wrote: Also, things are not going smoothly for me at work. To make matters worst, there is a pantry with sink, microwave oven and fridge just behind my work cubicle. Usually, where it comes to career not smooth etc, sometimes you have to check your ba zi luck in greater detail. There might be a possibility that the career is not favourable for you, or that you lack lots of a certain element so being unbalanced. Usually, when a person is unbalanced, things may not go in his favour. As for the sitting location. If there is at least a partition blocking you, then it should not be as bad as if you cannot see it directly, it is not a major threat. For office, unfortunately, there is very little one can do especially, if you are not a key person in the company (ie have your own personal room etc). Usually, most work space are shared so very difficult to correct or relocate. So you can only work on other areas such as wearing more favourable colour,or other areas within your control ie your own home etc. I would say that at this point probably working to balance up your element will help you as well as to try to work out something so that you can get better rest. (If you can get a good rest, it might help make you less hot tempered etc). Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Karen, Chong Karen wrote: I noticed that the flow of Qi into a house is very important but nowadays everyone are closed the door whole day. How the Qi go inside the house? As example: if the main door facing NE which is excellent for the breadwinner but the door is closed all the time, additional there are a sliding full panner door facing South at living room (4 panner) and it open all the days but the door facing will not suitable for the breadwinner (Remark: this door not a entrance). Will it affact the breadwinner and which door should consider as door facing? Is NE or South? Frankly, nowadays, irregardless of main door or balcony etc. Both can also be closed for some homes or offices that uses air-cond. However, that is why the main entrance where you enter in and out is still often the ideal direction where Qi will enter, as you will have to enter into the house at one time or another. Generally, that is still where Qi will enter into the house especially, when you enter or exit the house. The other is usually the balcony or living room direction. What is important in determining which is the right facing. We have come up with the following breakdown:- 1. For landed property - best to take the facing of the house (not necessary the actual main door). 2. For apartment (2nd-7th level) - best to take the main door, this is because for lower floors, the tendency for trees or opposite building to block the Qi is higher, so better to take the main door where you enter in and out of the house. 3. For apartment (8th and up) - best to take the facing from the living room/balcony because the view or Qi is unblocked and more likely to enter from the living room and balcony area. Though, Qi enters from the main door as well, but greater qi is likely to enter from the living room/balcony. Hope that helps. Dear Olivia, Olivia Kim wrote: Is it bad to have a staircase indirectly facing you as you enter into an apartment? It's not in exact alignment to the door but a little off. To have a stairs directly in front of your door, especialy if you can the stairs coming down towards the house is bad. It the stars is only going down, not too bad although. If it does not face your home directly, then it isn't too bad. Furthermore, you have to consider the distance. If it is fairly far away from you, then it will not affect you as much. Some of the ways to block is to have some plants to act like a partition between the stairs and the door, or to install a metal gate with a portion of the bottom half covered. This way any sha qi will not be able to atack into your home. Olivia Kim wrote: Also, what does Feng Shui say about a place of residence on top of a single car garage? Dear Karen, Chong Karen wrote: After read your forum abt Flying Star, I still cannot figure out how to find out the Mountain Star and Water Star? The Base Star of my main door is #2, year #7, month 2 and combine of Star #8 and #5, how to know whether this sector is good or bad to us? Anyway, how to cure it if bad to us? Basically, to fully understand the flying star you will need to understand the many concepts involved, ie the element compatibility and overall balance of the sector. Which is can be very complicated for most layman. Anyway, most people don't really need to worry about that. If you used our free flying star chart, everything is basically colour coded. The numbers in red are inauspicious, the numbers in blue are auspicious, while number in black is average. URL: http://login.geomancy.net So the more red colours numbers in the same sector, that will normally mean a very unbalanced and inauspicious sector. Anyway, I can tell you that in most flying star analysis, for most end users to make use, what you want to look out for are the problematicstars like Star 2/5 (which is illness/misfortune star), and star 3 (conflict/quarrels), star 4 (romance/scandals), star 7 especially not in period 7 (robbery star). Most of the time, these stars depending on which period, are theproblematic stars that most people are concerned with. Though, it might look complicated, I can tell you that you will find that most cures or balances are just to balance or neutralise the bad stars and avoid activating it. And you will find that Metal cures are almost always recommended simply because it can control star 2/5 and destroy star 3/4. So the safest colour for the house is always to keep it netural is white (metal). This helps to balance up the house, and it is also for practical reasons. White makes the room bright which is better than dark colours. As long as you keep to this, you will be safe even if you are not 100% sure how to interpret the chart. Where in doubt, it is best you get professional help to assist you to avoid getting it wrong. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Olivia, Olivia Kim wrote: I am confused about with you compatibility chart. I am a Ram but also an East person whose Kua # is 9. In your service, your website states that I would be most compatible with someone whose sign isa Pig, Horse or a Rabbit...Well I'm starting to date someone who isa Horse sign but his kua # is 7 - west and I am east! Isn't this a direct conflict? How can such a relationship work? Please explain. Please avoid confusing yourself by relating different concepts together. ie Compatibility & Eight House are different. When we check compatibility between two persons, we are looking to ensure that two persons do not conflict with one another especially in terms of personality or personal characteristics. Two person can be compatible, but have different directions that he or she likes or dislike. Just like one person can be a weak water, another can be strong metal and be compatible. However, that does not mean that they both have to share the same facing direction or suitability to be considered compatible. Each person will have their own different facing and directions. That does not mean that they are not compatible. You are attempting to use the fact that one is East group and West group to determine that they are incompatible. But all that does is just mean that the individual person have different directions or position favourable to them. Nothing more. Each peson having different direction does not conflict them in anyway. In a room or layout, it is often that there will be certain direction that one will favour etc.To have eight house direction opposite is very common, but it does not mean that they are incompatible. You are likecomparing anApple (iedirection suitabilty) to an orange (ie personalcompatibility). Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Asher, Anonymous wrote: My husband and I belong to the East Group but I read that the North-East and South-West facing houses are very good in the Period 8. In this case, should we look for a house based on the Eight Mansions or can we choose one that faces the North-East or South-West too? Thanks! Ideally, it would be good to have both the Flying Star Feng Shui (ie North-East/South-West) and your Eight House suitable ie (Prosperity, Excellent etc). However, for most people sometimes the flying star feng shui may be good but it does not suit them ie (death or disaster), then looking for a more suitable home with less flying star feng shui would be better. The reason for this is because, flying star feng shui can still be corrected but a house suitability cannot. Also, how good a house does not just depend on the flying star chart, the better house depends on the exterior location that will usually determine if your house is overall good or not. So I would say that as long as the house isn't a Death or Disaster suitability, then most houses can be considered even if it is your spook or irritation. However, ideally, you want both the suitability and house to be good. Where you cannot, then you just need to like average it out. For houses where it does not fit your best house facing, you need to compromise by ensuring that there is a suitable bedroom to ensure that you can still draw luck from the bedroom. The one thing I can tell you for sure, is that it is virtually impossible to buy a house that has zero feng shui flaws. Unless you choose your own plot of land and build the house yourself. For most pre-built house, it is not possible to have absolutely no flaws. But the most important is always the external & interior shapes and form of the houset, followed by suitability of the house and last to enhance the house. So even if there are a few minor faults it will be offset by the major advantages etc. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

I won't call 11th student being that bad as compared to last in the class or entire school. However, in terms of feng shui the few things you can do to improve his study are basically:- 1. Try to ensure that he is sitting facing his best direction (ie. Excellent or Prosperity direction). You can make use of this Eight House direction report:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h.htm 2. Also, you must take note of where is the direction of the Sun which can adversely influence the a person's concentration. Sometimes if the study room is constantly hit by the sun, it makes the room very warm and if he faces the sun when he study, it might very glaring for him. 3. The last consideration is to enhance your son's element by choosing the right colours in his bedroom. You can use this Ba Zi analysis to check out what colours are good for him and ensure his bedroom decoration is favourable to him. Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: Quote: Robert Lee wrote: That is generally the case. Weak element person tends to be at a disadvantage because he will need to first be strong before you can even benefit from your wealth element Why would you not try to enhance the weak element? I ask this after looking at my own heavenly and earthly branches provided in this website. I have weak earth in heavenly hour and day as well as in earthly hour yet the unfavorable colors and elements listed for me are yellow and gold. Is this prehaps because enhancing weak earth would weaken the strong things in my branches (Kan water, heavenly month = +wood, heavenly yr = +metal, earthly month = +metal and earthly yr =+wood)?I'm trying to see how this all relates to the productive, destructive and reductive cycles. Sorry, I believe you are confused here. 1. When I talk about weak or strong, I am refering to the fact that a person is weak wood or strong wood. weak wood person tends to be at a slight disadvantage compared to a strong wood person. I was also mentioning that a weak wood, will need to strengthen your weak wood to take advanage of the wealth. Whereas, for a Strong Wood, he has the advantage of controlling his wealth immediately, but must be careful about being overally strong. However, the same for the Strong wood person will tends to have more health issues or very unbalanced chart which tends to show more health issue or lacking in certain type of characteristics or ten deities. 2. From you current posting, you seems to be talking more about the individual elements within the chart (ie heavenly stem element, earthly branch element etc). Furthermore, it seems that you are assuming that the + (yang) elements state = Strong, whereas - (yin) elements state = weak. Which is absolutely wrong assumption. All elements in the very default productive and destructivestate does not really assume a weak or strong nature, but rather that the elements are of the same state ie. either all weak or all strong:- 1. FIVE ELEMENT Productive Cycle: a. weak metal - There can be 4 state altogether:- a. lesser Yin (weak) b. greater Yin (strong) c. lesser Yang (weak) d. greater Yang (strong) Therefore, it is absolutely wrong toassume yin = weak and yang = strong. This is the same as people commonly assuming that just because they are yin Pig, they are automatically a weak Pig. Furthermore, for all the element in the ba zi chart there is not just weak or strong, but rather five different states. All determined from other factors in the ba zi. What is important ultimately is the final element that you are determined (ie weak water), then followed by the percentage of each element you have at the time of birth. Hope that helps. Feng Shui is by no means a miracle cure to all problems, especially not in people to people relationship which is related to Human Luck. In terms of feng shui, areas relating to quarrels/conflict are star 3 in the flying star chart especially near your frontage or main door. If there are any, you can try to reduce it by having Metal to control the sector, or Fire to exhaust the star if there are no Star 2/5. You can use the free flying star report to assess your home in the members area:- URL: http://login.geomancy.net However, as mentioned people to people relationship will need more practical approach, ie being more tolerant to each other so that conflicts are reduced. However, human relationship is complex and if two persons are willing to give and take a little, and with lots of love differences can always be work out and relationship can last a long time. In our website, we will never tell you that two of you are incompatible etc. As this will only create additional fear on your end, and because you so believe it, you actually make it happen. I always believe that in relationship, it takes two person to make it work. Also, there will always be ways to harmonise two different animal sign especially each animal sign will have a particular element. ie weak water Monkey vs weak wood Tiger (for example), if you have more water it helps to harmonise and improve the relationship. So rather than believe in bad things will happen because of the clash, find ways to work out the difference and improve your human luck. ie have more activities together to create better relationship etc. These will all be better than worrying about bad things based on prediction.
