  1. Dear Joanne, Joanne Yang wrote: Hi Master, currently thekuan yin altar at myliving room is placeddirectly facingone of the bedroom's entrance(about 3.5m away). When bedroom door is open fully, it also faces the bedroom's set of windows which looks out to a roundabout driveway (we are staying at ground floor where there isan alighting porch for cars just outside our flat). At night, the headlights from any cars going into the driveway roundabout will shine towards the altar. Is it ok?? Read in one of the threads that altar should not face bedroom door? Is there any reason? Altar has several ruleset where is should be placed facing. Facing the bedroom is one of them, simply because the altar will be looking at the people in the room (especially when one's change clothes). Just not so good. Which is why not advisable. In our talk, we always like to add this joke "ie. if the altar face the bedroom, after a while it might develop have some red eyes". Just keep thedoorclose, thenthe light will not be able to shine into the altar. Otherwise, unless there is a better location to place the altar. Guess, there is not much else you can do in this case. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research.
  2. Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: Thanks for the reply Master Lee. I am not very sure about the way to find out the 8 mansions direction for the bedrooms in my house. Could you tell me how to go about finding out the 8 mansions direction for the 2 bedrooms in my house, or can you direct me to an online resource for doing so? Simply find out where is the center of the house and North direction. Then with the eight house chart, simply superimpose the chart where the North direction is to the home. The sectors where the home falls under the Eight House will be the influence suitability of that sector for that person. This resource should be able to guide you on it:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-8menu.htm Rachel Rachel wrote: If its not too troublesome for you,are youin fact able totell me which bedroom is best for my daughter just based on the following information?? Bedroom 1 is located rightabove the entrance of the houseand the living area. Ithas windows facing the same direction as the front door (SE2) but the entrance to the bedroom is facing the exact opposite direction of SE2 (NW2). Bedroom 2 on the other hand, has windows facing the exact opposite of SE2 (NW2) but the entrance to the room is facing NE. The facing direction of the door of the bedroom does not tell me such about which direction is that bedroom. It seems that bedroom 1 is located at the entrance of the house, and since it is the SE direction, so the bedroom should be the South-East if I am not wrong. Basically, how you determine which room is in which sector. Simply stand at the middle/center of your house with a compass. Face the North direction. Once you get your north direction. If the bedroom 1 is located at the South, then the bedroom is in the South sector. Where you cannot stand at the center of the house. Take a layout plan and get the North, then divide the various sector from the centerpoint. For your daugher, what is important is she is located in a sector that is favourable to her (ie. North-West/West/South-West/North-East sector of the house.) The facing of the bedroom door or window is not important. What is important is whether the bedroom is located at the South sector of the house or North-Sector of the house. Hope that helps. 3. Dear HPS Enoch, HPS Enoch wrote: I understand that placing metalchimes over your stove helps increase wealth. But I obviously need clairification because nothing has changed sense I put up thechimes: Do the chimes need to be directly over my stove top/burners (like I have them now) or do they need to hang in front- but above- the stove top/burners (above where I standwhen I'm cooking). My stove top/burners are seperate from my actual oven. HPS HPS Enoch wrote: Is it good or not good to place a mirror to reflect the burners of my stove top to generate wealth or not? Since the burners deal with a person's wealth, I would think to multiply them with a mirror's reflection will generate wealth. However, I've read mixed feelings so far. What is your advice and experience on this? HPS Frankly, the reason why both post you had mentioned may not work simply because there is no such feng shui item or product that you can simply place that will generate wealth for you. Feng Shui isn't about placing an item here and there and next day you be rich. If you have such a notion, then no matter what you put will also not work. Feng Shui is simply to create an environment that you feel comfortable to leave in. When you feel good, then you will be able to focus better in your work/career. Thus, creating wealth. Most of a time, what way to go about so call improving your feng shui, is first to identify any major leaks in the home. Fix up all the leaks first. Then, enhance yourself by ensuring that you have as much favourable element/colour/career etc. Enhancing or maximising all wealth areas in your home etc. When all these are in your favour, then you will find that whatever you do, things will go well for you and thus slow and steadily you be able to create wealth. I can only give you some guide here on what are the key leaks:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Feng Shui is thus only that, the rest will still depend on your own hardwork. Nothing can help you otherwise, if you yourself do not work hard for it. Feng Shui only help by creating a harmonious environment so that you do not have worry, feel happy and thus being able to focus on your work. Hope that helps. 5. Dear Anon, Quote: I wish totransform this area to a garden with proper lanscaping, will this affect my house's feng shui negatively? Most houses typically have a solid tile roof. Thus, there isn't much true resources in the past about such a concept since there isn't such a situation in the past. So this is a more of a modern time situation. However, my view of rooftop garden is actually good. Especially, because plants tend to act as shade for the roof. Thus, cools down the house. So garden for rooftop is fine. However, water feature on top of the roof will need to be avoided, as you do not want to have water over your head. This is like drowning your wealth. What you just need to be concerned is the load of the plants and worry about any water leaks from the roof or any other possible issues that might arise from a garden located at the rooftop. Quote: I was told that both green & blue colours are not advisable for roof, do these mean that plants and water features are not good feng shui for rooftop area? Natural greenery are ok. Blue especially water isn't advisable in terms of feng shui. In fact, it is a trend now-a-days to have garden on roof as it has been proven to cool down the house. Quote: If garden is alright for the rooftop, what kind of landscaping/ plants would your goodself recommend? I think as long as you create a nice landscaping that you enjoy, it shouldn't be a problem. Furthermore, different people have different likes and dislikes. So my advise is just decorate it in such a way it relaxes and make you feel good. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  6. Dear Linda, Quote: Thank you Mr Lee for your responses. I still dont quite understand how to balance our elements based on the report. For example, my reports says, that i have "12% water, 9% wood, 18% fire, 28% earth, 31% metal" and i am still considered a strong earth. Why is my favorable element metal if i already have 31%? isn't the goal to have about 20% of each element? Also, does that mean that if i am with a partner who is earth, it increases more earth, making my luck unfavorable? The balance of the five element is meant to allow you to know what elements you have at the time of birth. The ideal is to have 20% of each element. However, it is not possible for anyone to be able to know how much of each element you have at any point in time. This is simply because there are so many factors in your life that you cannot classify it properly in terms of elements. Thus, there is no way to know what is your actual five element percentage except from your ba zi. Thus, once you have that percentage it is possible to determine whether you are weak or a strong person. In your case, you are a Strong Earth. Simply because you have more favourable than unfavourable. Thus, under the Strong Earth, it means that generally you have too much Fire and Earth, and lack Metal, Water and Wood. So generally Fire and Earth are elements you want to avoid while Metal, Water and Wood are elements you want to have more of. The five element percentage should be used in this way. Metal (31%), Water (12%) and Wood (9%). Thus, it means that you should have more Wood, followed by Water and last by Metal. Same goes for the unfavourable element. Remember, that you need to have some of each element to attain perfect harmony. So a little of each will be good, however too much will not. Thus, the percentage allows you to be able to fine tune which elements you need more or less. Quote: Is it also favorable to be with friends who are favorable to you? like would weak wood or strong water be helpful to me? But should avoid strong fire, etc etc? Generally metal, water, wood person will be good for you. Since different element strength has different suitability to you. Thus, as a Strong Earth, weak Metal or Strong Wood would probably be good for you. weak Fire, or Strong Earthwould probably not be so good for you. Quote: Also, i was looking at the luck periods for me and my husband. If in a certain year or 10 year period i have "luck against you" but he has "luck with you", does it affect your luck (help or ruin)? Individually, each person has different luck period, sometimes luck is good sometimes it is bad. In feng shui, there is such thing as borrowing luck from others. In cases of husband and wife. Say if the wife does not have a very good luck, but because the husband has, you will sort of enjoy somewhat better luck due to riding on his good fortune. So most of the time, usually the person with lesser luck can benefit from the other with better luck. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  7. Dear Thambyrajah, Thambyrajah Kugathasan wrote: Now I have an urgent and important question on Floor number used in House analysis for a Cono., where the floors are numbered serially from 1 , but #13 is not used for the 13 th floor. Instead #14 is used after the 12 th floor and continued thereafter serially. Thambyrajah Kugathasan wrote: Therefore #18-05 which I am interested actually refersto 17 th floor apartment and 5th unit. How I should use the number in the House number analysis? Is it 17-05 or 18-05? Please help me with this and I will really appreciate your helps. Thanks again. Frankly, the auspicious number analysis was to allow a person to determine which unit on different level is better assuming the layout is the same. It doesn't do much or have much impact on the home itself. The more important issue is the choice of the home, the layout of the home itself, whether the house fit the breadwinner or not. Apartment number isn't the most important factor. In your this case, I mean athough, for the analysis to work properly you probably have to use the actual level, but there very few apartments are numbered in such a way. So no way to tell for sure if this should be the way or simply just to use the actual numbering. Furthermore, based on your last post, your unit number is so different that the original analysis wasn't designed to handle such a unique case. Since sounding of the number is equally important when choosing the unit number (ie better for selling the apartment in the future). Thus, I would rather you not bother about the apartment number analysis. Focus more on the layout of the home and surrounding. This I feel is much more important. Hope that helps. But with the partition, it helps to block the sha qi from the stairs, so it is not as bad. Like what we have been saying, whatever that you cannot see, no longer becomes a problem. 9. Dear Calvin, Calvin Yong wrote: Still need to get some clarification from you. The chart recomend that I increase water and wood. But at the end of your advise, you recomend metal and wood.......But shouldn't I am advice to reduce on metal? Thank you. The ideal is to have exactly 20% of each five element. However, in reality, it is very difficult for anyone to say for sure how much element you exactly have at any point in time. You may have lack some elements based on your bazi, but these all changes depending on your environment. Thus, you need to base on what element you are classified:- ie a strong earth person means that you have too much of Fire and Earth thus making you considered a Strong Earth, thus your favourable would be any element that helps to keep your Strong Earth in check. That means Metal, Water and Wood. The percentage just helps to tell you how much of each element you have a birth. Although, generally fire and earth are considered your unfavourable it does not mean you should avoid it completely, you still need to have some to help attain the 20% of each element. This helps you fine tune your what you should have more or less. ie Metal (40%), Water (10%) and Wood (2%) are generally good for you, but based on your percentage it would mean that Wood is most desired, followed by Water and least by Metal. Again, even though you have 40% metal, it does not mean that it is something you should avoid. Where you cannot have Water and Wood, Metal is still a favourable element for you. Same goes for the unfavourable element. The element you have more will be what you should try to avoid most. Again, the concept here is to attain a balance. A person should not have too much or too little. Just enough to balance up everything. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  10. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: If theoffice desk is location that isunder the air - con ducting and air-con water pipingis and trucking of cables. Is it bad for the person sitting there? Of course if you can hide those piping and cables it will definately look nicer for an office. But if you can't then there isn't much you can do. Probably the main concern here is that piping might leak and thus if you have any electrical equipment/important documentsit might get damaged when it leaks. So you just need to be extra careful about placing important documents etc. Also, piping might also have similiar properties like a beam over your head which is like a poison arrow if you are sitting directly underneath it but of a much lesser impact if any. So I won't worry to much, besides nothing much you can do because the best way to fix it is toie. have a false ceiling etc. Hope that helps. 13. Dear Carla, Carla Rothacker wrote: Here in America, we often have mobile home parks where the homes are set up on a semi-permanent basis. Some are in the form of a single long home of 14 by 70 feet or 16 by 64 feet, while some are made in 2 pieces and assembled on site as what we call a "doublewide" mobile home. Wheels are removed, and the homes in both cases are supported by construction blocks at key points beneath them, sitting upon concrete. Carla Rothacker wrote: Yes, they *can* be moved, but generally are not. It takes a special moving company to do so, and is expensive. These are different from recreational vehicles, which are small homes on wheels, or small campers to travel in. I am sorry if that was unclear. I see, when you talk about mobile home, I was originally thinking only on those trailer homes. In this case, of course, you can still apply feng shui since you the homes isn't going to be moved around. Carla Rothacker wrote: Thus, I am still wondering if facing direction is more important than the entrance to the home, and if flying stars *may* be useful. If based on what you have mentioned, that probably the choice of the lot or land that you park the home will be most important followed by the best facing direction. The only issue with flying star application in this case would be that there is no real year of birth. So the true influence of the flying star may be harder to deduce. Thus, I would think that you should follow more the shapes and form of the land, suitability of the direction, rather than the flying star influence. Carla Rothacker wrote: Is the book I read that suggested using the central 3 guas only, due to the narrowness of such homes, incorrect? I still think that you should assess the home as it is, however, as I am unsure exactly whether the dimension you given relates to a typical terrace house in singapore (ie longish retangular type). But in either case, we still apply the full direction divided equally. If it is really too longish, then sometimes we break the it equally similiar to this:- Carla Rothacker wrote: Also, what might be done to counter the effect of ungroundedness from the home not having a proper, full foundation to rest on? I don't think you can do much as mentioned it is a mobile home not one that is built from scratch. Really there isn't any much guidelines as to how feng shui can truly be applied. But what I can say for sure in such cases, the shapes and form of the external landscape would be the most important factor more than just the interior of the home. Hope that helps. 14. Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: Dear Master Lee, our new houseis facing SE. My husband is a weak wood, and although SE is his Irritation direction, SE is also a wood direction, so I wonder if this is not so bad for him after all. As long as the direction is not Death or Disaster it is acceptable under the eight house. If the ba zi element is suitable, then it is even better. But given that ba zi and eight house each is good and bad, thus we would still consider such a facing as average. Rachel Rachel wrote: SE is my Spook direction, which I read from your other forum post - is okay to live in, since you said before that many people live in Spook direction and its not such a great harm. Spook or irritation are two least problematic sectors. So most of the time it is still acceptable. Rachel Rachel wrote: However, I'm a bit concernedfor my 3 year old daughter as SE is her death direction. I know that its most important that the direction be favourable to the main breadwinner and not the daughter, but it sounds kind of terrible that SE is my daughter's "DEATH" direction. Do you thinkthis isreally going to cause her any major problems? If so,could you recommend any remedies for her For a house, the direction of the main door is most important to the breadwinner. Since the breadwinner earns most to upkeep the house, the house has to be suitable to him. For the rest of the family, it is more important that the bedroom is suitable to the individual family members in the house. Thus, I won't be too concerned here that other family members might have a house that is death to that person. So your daughter's luck comes from the bedroom that she stays in. Every person is unique, and there are only 8 directions, so it is not possible for a home to fit everyone. Thus, this is were priority will come in. Breadwinner more important is the house facing, other family members is the bedroom sector. Hope that help. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

And then my "Unexpected Funds" (pian yin), represented by Earth again, is 2.Could this bean additionalexplanation forthe reason why you recommend me to pursue an Earth element career in orderto strengthen my element(weak metal)? Actually, when I explained that Earth is good for you, I was more referring to the fact that you are a weak Metal. Under the five element, Earth produces Metal. Thus, Earth is your favourable element. Ten Deities tend to be used more to either explain characteristics or what that period might be related to. ie. Main Funds or Unexpected Funds are actually resources / skills or hidden talents. While when related to the luck pillars it often relates to Health. So I wasn't exactly referring to the having lots Earth, thus earth is good for you. 19. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: We generated the personal monthly analysis report and realised that most days were bad and very bad. This will always be the case.A person's luck will constantly change up and down from time to time. You should remember that when we analyse day to day, the goal is to identify which days are best within the entire month. Same goes, when you check which month is better within the year, or which year is better within the 10-year luck. There will be ups and down from time to time. When a Year is good, that means that no matter how bad the month is, it will be considered the least auspicious month. While, when a year is abd, that means that the worst month will be the worst auspicious month for that year. When an auspicious date is done for the month, it's goal is simply to find out which days is the better or worst for that month itself. So I won't worry so much about the days being bad or very bad. As it does not consider whether the month or the year is good or bad. Quote: How can a student impoves their earth luck?/ examination luck? on those days during the very important examination. There are other factors that you have to consider:- ie. season strength that affects the strengthen of your five element. ie. combinations or clashes/harms that will affect the five element found in your chart. Thus, for the benefit of all users, I have specially created a 30-days Auspicious Date Analysis report users to check out themselves:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-dateboth.htm The only limitation is that is that it allows users to analyse only 30 days ahead from today's date and that it does not include hourly analysis. This report good for: Collecting key, initial opening of doors, move-in etc. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
