  1. Dear Kelly, Quote: Then can they stay with us since my future SIL is due in Jan/Feb 2005? Ideally, for those who really strictly follow the tradition, it would be best not to have the two married couple stay together. But, my question will be, will there be an alternate accomodation available for you to not have the married couple stay together. If not, then I don't think there is much you can do about this. As long as you both do not attend each other's wedding then it shouldn't be as bad anymore even if you are staying together. Nothing much else you can do as this is a matter of how strongly you believe in this tradition. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  2. Dear Jacky, jacky chan wrote: Thanks Robert for your advice. I done much resesarch on the web and they all say no fountains in bedroom. But you really cleared things up and I believe your answer/philosophy is the most logical among theall the feng shui sitesI read. What makes you feel good, just follow your heart. Thanks! Yes, generally it is not good to put fountain in bedroom.Fountain should be placed in larger open area like living room / balcony / family area etc. But as mentioned, when we talk about a fountain it is not one of those portable / desk type fountain. Anyway, one should always remember that the purpose of Feng Shui is to create harmony. If that desk type water feature does help you in your sleep and make you better. Then I do not see any reasonto remove it. Being able to relax will result in better health thus improving your wealth. Therefore, beneficial for you from your personal human luck factor. 3. Dear Kellly, kelly ng wrote: Hi, I would like to enquire on whether 2 brothers can get married in the same year? My husband and I will be holding our customary in Nov 2005. My brother in law is having his ROM in Sep 2005 with no intention of any customary, and his wife-to-be is due in Jan/Feb 2006. They are currently staying at our house. I understand from others that the later couple will not be very good in this case and they are not suppose to stay with us? Is this true? What should we avoid? Can we attend their ROM/buffet? Unfortunately, it is not good for two relative to get married within a year. If both must get married within the same year, there must at least bea span of 6-months between the first and second wedding. This is the general chinese believe and custom. To avoid it, it is best that at least the one getting married later should postpone their wedding a little later. If there is really no choice that this must happen, then it is best that both side do not attend the other person's wedding. Hope that helps. 4. Dear Kevin, Kevin Tan wrote: 1.Is all sales-related careers fall under the Fire element? Yes, any job scope that involves selling is considered under Fire element. Remember that there is main job scope and your industry element. For example, you can be involved in sales but if the product or industry you are in more toward Health then it is Wood industry with a Sales job. Just like if you are in the Health industry but your job scope is accounting or finance, then it is Wood industry with Metal job scope. Kevin Tan wrote: 2. If I'm in Network Marketing (Multi Level Marketing) where I sell nutritional products to improve people's health, what Element would that be? As mentioned in my above example. The art of selling is Fire element but the product or industry you are in would be health so Wood element influence. Kevin Tan wrote: 3. Network Marketing is mainly a business to help people achieve financial independence and a sense of security. Does that fall under Metal element since MONEY career falls under Metal? Yes, that would be considered under Metal for your industry, while you will be a consultant which is also Metal element. Kevin Tan wrote: 4. My report says I wasborn in Summer where the main element Fire was weak. How can Fire be weak in Summer? Shouldn't it be burning strongly in Summer? The report is right to say my True Element is Strong Fire though. I'm confused! Not true. There are 4 seasons but there are 5 different elements. The 1-2 months of every season tends to be the reigning element of the season. While the 3rd month tends to the transition period where the reigning element fades away and the new season is being born. During such a month the Earth influence is strongest. Thus, your fire is weak in the Summer season since it falls in the 3rd month. The seasons of birth simply determines how each of the element strengthen will be for the various five element affecting your chart. How much of each element you have plus the seasonal influence will then determine if you are finally weak or strong. To be Strong, it means you need to have more Favourable element when compared to unfavourable element. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  5. Dear Jacky, jacky chan wrote: I just read that fountains are not good for the bedroom. But I recently bought a fountain and placed in the bedroom to help me sleep. The soothing sound and the increased humidity from these fountains really helps me sleep better. These fountains are made to help people who have insomia relax and get better rest. Here is a link to these fountains and all the reviews for them are good. Firstly, when I read the word fountain, what comes to my mind is like a fairly large size water feature that will occupy a significant area in the room. What you have provided in the links are what we call small water feature that you can place anywhere like at your desk etc. So it is quite different when you compare to a fountain. As such it is really no issue to have such a water feature. Especially if it has beneficial effects for you. I mean whatever that is able to relax you is always good. If you feel more rested and relax, you will work better and thus being able to have better health/wealth/happiness. Since this is not a real fountain feature, I personally do not think there will be any issue if you put in even in the bedroom. I mean anything that benefits your health ie even like those ion plasma or HEPA air cleaner or like massage chair etc are generally welcome. As long as they do provide true health benefits, there should be no issue in using them. Remember, that with good health and relaxation will you be able to be more alert in your work which allows you generate wealth for your family. Hope that helps. 7. Dear Carla, Carla Rothacker wrote: I am confused from books I have been reading. I am seeking a favorable mobile home, and do not understand what method is correct to take facing compass direction. Most of these single wide homes are side by side lengthwise on lots, so they face foreward to the street - but the main door is always on one side. Which side is the true facing direction? The reason why youget confused is because Feng Shui was never designed for mobile homes. There is no such traditional analysis that will work for a mobile home. I mean say we know North is good. For a mobile home you can always park it in such a way that you face North so it is unlike a pre-built house which once you build it it remains fixed or unchangable. Carla Rothacker wrote: I am also confused how to use bagua on this sort of home, for example, 14' wide by 72' long. Is it true that I should use only the center 3 guas? If so, do I take these from the facing direction or the direction the main door faces? I read that narrow dwellings are impractical for compass school and the 9 squares methods. That would also make flying star impossible, no? Since a mobile home changes depending on how you park, it is not possible to apply like the flying star or eight house concept effectively. Reason I say this is simply, if you park facing North, then design your home based on this North facing. The moment you park say West, then your feng shui layout that you arranged based on North will be entirely different. So for mobile home, the only tools you can use are like your ba zi, the types of colour scheme. Based on what I know about mobile home, the space is so limited that even choosing direction which is good is also going to be hard simply because of the space constraint. So there will be very little you can apply except the correct colour scheme and decoration to make the mobile home look nice and welcoming. Otherwise, very little of the normal feng shui method will apply well on such a homes. Mobile Home as the term means ability to move from place to place. Hope that helps. Thank you. The year the house was built if it is2004-2023, then no issue as it will be period 8 house. If it is a built in earlier period ie 1984-2003, then you have to determine if there are significant renovations works done. If there are very major renovations done in after 2003, then you should use the period 8. Otherwise, you should leave it as period 7. Yes, most Chinese in particular would want to avoid moving in especially in the Chinese 7th month. Most will at least want to choose a good date. Unfortunately, if you work for a large organsiation, there isn't much you can do on both issues. Nothing much you can really do too. However, I don't think you should worry too much. They should be activated. ie Water star in open space - should be activated, ie Mountain star in bedroom or room - should be activated. 2. If there is auspicious water or mountain star but they do not fit the activation conditions. They can't be activated. ie Mountain Star in Living room or open space. 3. Could it be that this is actually the element/number that would remedy the 1-5-8 combination, at least for this month? My thought process is that the visiting 6 (good metal) would hold back the 5 (bad earth). Am I on the right track? Yes, that is correct. The Metal helps to create a Five Element flow. All our website analysis tools are Lunar calendar based which is also the same concept used in nearly all ther other website tools and analysis. The reason there are difference is that they use the Xia Calendar for Ba Zi analysis, thus having differences. This is already a long discussed issue which I don't wish to have to discuss again. Just do some search on the issues and you can read the many reasons for it. Basically, whoever you choose to have your feng shui analysis make sure that all the calendar formats are consistent. You don't want to have an analysis based on Lunar analysis, another on Xiaetc. This is like mixing an apple to an orange. If you make use of our website tools, everything works well together because they are all based on a similiar concept Lunar calendar and thus they can inter-related very well together. 15. Dear Amanda, Amanda rattray wrote: I recently moved in to a new home, lost my job, and my relationship in the same week. Because of this, I startedreading about feng shui. I discovered that my Kua number is 1 and my bedroom is in ( i believe, if i used the compass correctly the north east sector of my home. This is also an inauspicious location of Wu Kwei. I am unable to change my room as i live with roomates. Is there anything that i can do? Unfortunately, if your problems is because the home does not suit you (ie facing direction & bedrooms). Then in the long run, the only solution is to move out to a better home. There is simply just no cure for a house that does not suit you. That is why choosing a good home is very important. This is the one area which you cannot correct in feng shui. The only thing you can do with the existing houses are:- 1. If the house cannot fit you, you must at least stay in a bedroom that suits you. This will at least help to offset the unsuitability issue. 2. Often there might be other issues in feng shui that add on to this unsuitability issues. ie a bad flying star house luck or simply other major leaks in feng shui. I have some simple checks to assess the home listed in this talk notes I created. URL: http://talk.geomancy.net You should also access the flying star of the house with the free tools we have. Check particularly on the facingdirection and bedroom, whether there are star 2/3/4/5 which are the usual problem stars in a home. If there are, you must attempt to balance it out. Often having Metal cure (ie 6 coins or keeping the walls white) will help balance up the sector. 3. Often relationships are indirectly affected by issues of career or money worry. I mean if you are always worried about your money issues to settle your problems, then of course it will also affect your happiness and thus result is less focus on relationship etc. So a lot of things can happen at once. Check out what else are wrong, then attempt to correct whatever you can. As mentioned, if you are willing to help yourself, I can give you some paid tools to help troubleshoot what else might affecting you. Then you can work to improve them as much as possible. But ultimately, in terms of a house and bedroom that does not suit you, you will not get a quantum leap in feng shui unles you move out to a better house. What you can do at the mean time is to reduce the impact while you stay in the existing house. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

I am working as a free lance real estate agent and I work hard but everytime my deal just goes down the drain is there any advice to help me? There usually must be a couple of other issues that work together for a person to encounter bad luck etc. Without knowing or considering the overall impact of the house ie how is the luck of the house, whether you fit the house, what is your ba zi luck it is very difficult to tell you what you can do, whether your career element is favourable to you etc. It isdifficult for us to tell you what you can do to improve yourself. Youeveryone is unique, every home is also unique. There arefactors you need to evalute from yourheavenly, earthly, andhuman luckto evaluate and then attempt to correct. ie. Heaven Luck - Your ba zi, what element favours you, what colours favour, what career favours you etc. ie. House Luck - Your home external factors affecting your house, internal factors, any major leaks, suitability of the home, sleeping/facing drection etc. ie. Human Luck - Your like relationship with your colleague/friends. If say your previous career is unfavourable for you, and/or your home has other factors affecting it, and/or your relationship with others was influenced, etc. Many factors will usually have to happen together before a person faces issues. So the only way to help yourself is to understand what might be areas that are wrong, then attempt to correct each one of them. What I can do if you are willing to help yourself, is to provide you with some free reports tools to help you analyse. Then you can attempt to correct whatever that might be wrong. 17. Dear Sam Yeong, Sam Yeong wrote: When you talked about house suitability, which oneof them doyou base on?The personal kua's best 4 directionsor the house's best 4 directions? Sorry, I don't quite get what you are trying to ask. Maybe you like to clarify your question. Say a Kua has North, West, South-East and South as favourable, then the best house direction is a house that have the facing direction facing North, West, South-East or South. When we talk about a house facing direction we will always define that from within the house looking outwards as the compass direction. So if the living room/main door facing North, then it is a North facing house. So if that is your favourable direction, then the house fits you. So you should first determine the facing direction. Once that facing is determined, and it fits you it will be suitable for you. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

I have a question regarding our main door is facing South-West (Earth element) as my husband ba zi is a weak water. Does that mean the house is inauspicious? As he need water or metal to strengthen his element. By painting the main doorto sky blue does it help to strengthen his weak water. Please advice me. Generally, in terms of ba zi it isn't the most suitable direction. The Eight House and Ba Zi each has a suitable direction. Eight House is best used on a micro level while Ba Zi is better used on Macro level. ie. Eight House better for small room, work/study facing direction. ie. Ba Zi is better for like living say in the Northern part of Singapore, or Northern country. Ba Zi facing direction though less suitable, can still be corrected by having more metal and water element in other areas to compensate for it. Ideally, as long as the house is not Death or Disaster then not as bad. Not necessary to paint blue door espcially if the Eight House is suitable. Just improve on other areas in your life to make the weak water stronger. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Is the door facing VERY important? Thank. Joe Suitability is impossible to correct after you purchase the home. If the suitability is Spook or Irritation, it won't be too bad. Since the house is Disaster sector, which is one of the two worst sector. It is highly not advisable. You should remember that the facing of the house is the most important thing next to the environment of the house. So if you get an unsuitable home, you will not be able to correct it in the future. How can we neutralize the unlucky front door without changing houses (for now)? Are there ways to improve our situation? This point has been talk about many many times. Eight House is about suitability. There is very little you can do to correct a suitability of a home other than getting another that is more suitable to you. Thus, it is important to choose a good home before you move in. Else there is no other solution to correct this flaw. Usually, it takes a couple of Feng Shui leaks for there to be major issues or conflict. So it is never caused by just one issue. ie maybe there can also be like ba zi element conflict between you and yoru husband, the ba zi direction of the house doesn't fit the both of you. Or the bedroom is in another unsuitable direction, or having some inauspicious quarrels or conflict stars etc. So it takesa series of problems for it to be seen. Since the house suitability will not be correctable. The only thing you can do is to check the house for other feng shui leaks and correct it. Check out some of the issues I mentioned in the above para. See if they are present, if so correct them. Unfortunately, feng shui is no miracle cure for all problems. There is very little you can enhance in Feng Shui to help expedite a sale of a property. The reason is because the ultimate factor whether a potential buyer will purchase the place, will depend on the location of your home, the ease of transport, the price etc. With a lot of properties available, that means that the buyer has lots of choices to find the best home for him. So under such a situation, there is really very little feng shui can help. You can only make use of feng shui in the following areas if applicable:- 1. If there are potentially good feng shui advantages, indicate it during the sale. Who knows if the person believes in feng shui, there might be a higher chance he may purchase it if it suits him. 2. Increasing the luck for yourself by means of enhacing your bazi to increate your luck. With higher luck, maybe there might be some possibility of a sale to be concluded. Otherwise, the rest depends onyourthe real estate agent ability to find the right buyer. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

We discovered that our children's bedrooms are in the Death sector. And one of these bedrooms' door is also facing the bathroom door. Is there anything that we can do about it? Eight House deals with suitability, there is unfortunately very little you can do to correct a suitability problem except:- 1. Move the child to another bedroom (if available) 2. At least ensure that the child is sleeping in the better direction (this can help offset some of the unsuitability to the room itself) 3. Correct other feng shui issues to reduce any further inauspicious influence. ie enhance the room with favourable colours for the baby or fix up any flying star inauspicious star 2 or 5 to ensure that it does not add to the existing problem. As for the toilet door facing the bedroom. Try to keep the toilet door close when not in use. This should be sufficient. Hope that helps. 25. Dear Lee Hui, lee hui wrote: I am confused on how to determine the "Green dragon" n "White tiger" direction. Should i determineinside the house or outside the house before i step into the house. pls advise.Thank you. This all depends on which frontage/facing direction you take to evaluate this concept. For example, if you take the living room frontage, then the frontage comes the front where the phoenix should be while the back is the tortise and the East side or Left side of the house should be the Green Dragon while the West side or Right side of the house should be the White Tiger. So the best thing you can do is first determine the frontage, then assign the four symbolic animals accordingly as shown below:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-four.htm Hope that helps.
