Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm a gua 7 that makes the east a death sector. However star 6 is metal, 1 is water, and under bazi I'm strong fire. Is it as bad for me? Death sector is the worst of the 4 bad direction under the eight house. The East sector of the house is Wood element. as a Strong Fire, wood only makes you stronger, thus is considered again a unfavourable suitability. So it means that you are entirely not suited for any bedroom or facing direction of a house that is East. The flying star of the bedroom isn't too bad. However, as long as your bedroom is unsuitable, no matter how good the luck of the room, you will simply not be able to benefit from it. Anonymous wrote: With the house as period 8, Facing N1, my master bedroom which is in the east sector now have the number 6, f-1,s-6 which makes it 166. Is this good? With a Gua 7 person, North facing house is Disaster for you. With a unsuitable house Diaster and Death sector bedroom, no matter how good the house luck, you will not be able to benefit from the house as it you just don't suit the house. So in the long run, you should seriously consider to move out to a better home so that you can enjoy a quantum leap in feng shui. The flying star sector isn't that bad. So house luck probably still ok. But once you don't suit the house, no matter how good the flying star, you will only be able to enjoy say 25% of the entire house luck. That is why suitability to a house is very important. Suitability is unfortunately one area you cannot simply correct. Enhancing the house luck can probably help you maximise the remainder of the 25% suitability that you can enjoy. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Is it advisable for a strong water person to make investment in share market? I believe share market falls under fire element. The art of investment is Metal element. While the general Share Market is Earth element. Fire because it deals with lots of selling. As a Strong Water person., Fire/Earth is favourable for you. Metal may make you overly strong so the overall is considered favourable because it consist of Fire - A Strong Water will benefit from this career, but a weak water person will not. Fire and Earth will destroy your weak water. So much so that the Metal influence from investment will be overwhelmed. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Since I am a strong fire do I need water and earth to tame me down? Should I avoid wood? Yes, follow as Strong Fire, you need Earth and Water element to help control your excess Fire. Since you are Strong Fire, of course you want to have less Wood where possible. Hope thath helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: However I do not understand from the diagram, wood is only 26% whereas fire is 42% how come wood is the strongest. Likewise for water and metal water is 7% but metal is the weakest. The Strongest / Strong / Weak / Weakest / Extremely Weak all are the element's strengthen based on the season of your birth. What that means is that you have 26% of Strong Wood, aand 7% of Weakest Metal. It is based on the precentage that you will eventually determine if you have too much or too little of an element. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I was told by a few people that I'm a weak fire according to my bazi. Since my birth month is April which is Febuary in the chinese lunar calendar which they say is spring which is after winter and weaken my fire. Fromyour bazi analysis I was deduced as a Strong fire, but I thought the bazi analysis of my birth month is supposed to take into consideration of the season already. Please help identify my elements. I don't know how detailed your analysis was done. However, I can tell you are strong simply because:- Element Strength Percentage 1 Water Weak 7 % 2 Wood Strongest 26 % 4 Fire Strong 42 % 1 Earth Extremely Weak 2 % 4 Metal Weakest 21 % There are many factors that will influence whether you are weak or strong. In your chart, you also have several combinations or joins which convert your original element to having more Wood and Fire. In addition, your season of birth is just at the start of the Spring, which means that earth is always extremely weak between the transition of seasons. This means that your Fire is Strongest. and Wood Strong. Favourable elements -26% Wood and 24% Fire (Total: 50%) Unfavourable elements - 21%Metal and 7% Water (Total: 30%) Earth cannot be taken into consideration because it both exhaust Fire as well as destroy Water and strengthen Metal. As such, becomes a double edge element that shouldn't be conidered either in Favourable or Unfavourable. Since you have more favourable elements, you arenaturally considereda Strong Fire. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Fely, Fely Aquino wrote: Please refresh my knowledge again. The Eight House has North location as the main door. What if the home's main door faces any of the other locations (ie, West, Northeast, etc)? How do you determine the bad and good locations in this regard? The facing of the house you should determine by our facing direction rule set:- 1. Landed Property - ie facing of the house itself. Depends on the orientation of the house itself. 2. Apartment (2nd level - 7th level) - ie main door of the house as your facing direction of the house 3. Apartment (8th level and up) - ie living room or balcony as your facing directiondirection. This will be the facing of house. A house can say face East but the main door can be found on the North-East etc. The next is the superimposing of the Eight House chart over the layout plan. You just need to orientate the chart's North direction to the true North direction for your home. Then the various sectors of the eight house will fall exactly in place. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: What cures can you suggest if the home that I would like to purchase and to bebuilt this year havebad room locations? Should I just look for another home plan?I am a North person, main door is facing North. The land and surrounding area is good. The builder's layout plan is as follows: What you need to understand that is that, there is no way you can fix a suitability issue. If a house does not fit you, then always best to look for another more suitable house. There is no way to correct this. You can attempt to improve other feng shui flaw to offset this. However, if a house does not fit you, it means you cannot get the maximum amount of luck from the house. If a bedroom cannot suit that person, then you best select another bedroom that can bring you better luck. So either you find a better bedroom, or if you are building your own home, then ensure you build the room in the good sector for the various family members. The two most important is the suitability of the house to the breadwinner. Once you get a house that is not suitable, you cannot correct this. The bedroom not being as suitable, is still acceptable if the house at least fit you. However, ideally you want everything to fit you so that you can get maximum amount of luck from it. So unless your builder can accmodate your changes, else probably my advise is look for a more suitable home that fits you and your family. Hope that helps. Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: Now I understand the percentages, but what I don't understand is why is 7 Fire, for example, considered "Extremely Weak" when it obviously has the highest percentage (56%) compared to all other elements in my chart. The Extremely weak is based on the seasonal influence based on your month of birth that will influence all the elements present in your chart. This extremely weak is the strength of the Fire element given your season of birth. As to whether you are weak or strong will eventually be based on how many of each elements you have after the seasonal influence, the number of each element you have is computated. The 56% is computated after considered that the Fire is Extremely weak element but because you have 7 elements that makes it 56% strong when you compared it to other five elements in your chart. Rachel Rachel wrote: I don't understand what the numbers next to each element really mean, for example, "7 Fire", and "2 Earth", and "1 Wood". Thing is, shouldn't "7" Fire or "2 Earth"be considered stronger, compared to "1 Wood" because 7 or 2is more than 1??? So how come "1 Wood" is listedas "Strong" whereas "7 Fire" and "2 Earth" are listed as "extremely Weak" and "Weakest"??? The number there simply represents how may elements is found in your birth chart. The seasonal strengthen of each element is what whether the Fire is weak or Strong in reference to the season of your birth. The percentage will then show you if you have lots of it or very little of it. Rachel Rachel wrote: P.S. and also, since my unfavourable elements are fire and water, should I still try to increase the element of water, since according to this report, it says that I should because water is only 13%?? The ideal scenario for everyone is to have 20% of each five element. However, in reality this is very difficult for anyone to determine. So we can only based on the fact that if you have less than 20% of an element, having a little more will be good to help bring your chart in balance. This is why everyone will need to have a little of each element. It does not mean that you should only have one element. But a portion of each of the Five different element. Since it is hard to tell you how much of any element you have at anytime. You therefore make use of the birth element ie a Strong Water person for example will mean that having Wood, Fire and Earth are generally favourable for you. But depending on how much of each element you have you might need more of a certain element than another. This is where the percentage will come in handy to help you. ie if you have 5% Wood and 40% Fire, then it means you would benfit to have more Wood, than Fire. While as a Strong Water, Metal and Water is unfavourable element. Thus, if you have 76% Metal, and 1% Water, it means you are strong because of too much metal, so metal should be avoided as much as possible, while Water though unfavourable for you. You can still have some Water to help balance up your element. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Wanama, Wanama Thefirst wrote: I have a question about my best directions and my real element. There are two concepts in feng shui that can be used on direction:- 1. Eight House or suitability is often used on house facing direction andbed / study / work direction. More on smaller scale application. 2. Ba Zi element or direction is often used more on macro application. ie Staying in the Northern part of the Earth, North part of the country, house element direction etc. It is less used on a smaller scale level. The reason why the two concepts can sometimes have conflicting information is simple. Eight House is based on YEAR of birth, while Ba Zi Element is based on your full date and time of birth. So ba zi will be essentially more accurate. However, you cannot discount the Eight House concept also because it is simple yet have a strong influence over especially suitability issues. Wanama Thefirst wrote: I am gua3wood therefore my best directions are S,SE,N,E,but here is where I get confused,my real element is strong m?tal,do my best direction stay the same or do they change since metal is in the NW and W directions in the luo pan.I am asking this because my home is in SW3 facing position and was build in period 6.My bedroom is in the N with M5W8B2,is this a good direction for me or should I change room.My bed head is set against the NE wall, and I believe the M3W6B9 .Thank you for taking time to explain! Once you understand the above. Then you can better apply the concept. Ideally, the best direction would be one where both your Eight House and Ba Zi element are both suitable. Where a person is unable to obtain such a direction, then you should always make sure that the house fits your eight house direction and avoid Death or Disaster. Ba Zi suitability can still be improve or corrected but Eight House cannot. As such, it is more important to get a house that must fit your eight house suitability. So you need to make sure as the breadwinner of the house, the house must suit you based on your Eight House. Which means South (Prosperity), South-East (Longevity), North (Heatlth), East (Excellent). Then next match your element direction, ie strong Metal, would be Water (North), Wood (East/South-East), Fire (South). In your case, both your eight house and ba zi element are exactly the same. I am not sure why you worry about the NW/W since your best direction are not NW/W but SW2. Thus your element of the house is Earth element and suitability is Disaster. Not the ideal house for your suitability or and not a good element house foryou as Strong Metal person. Bedroom for you is North so is suitable for you. Bed position for you is North-East (Irritation). Not favourable sleeping position for you. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: You mentioned that for a weak metal person like me, working in my career with wealth element (in my case, wood) would not bring me much wealth because I need to be stronger, i.e. in contact with Earth. Yet I also noticed that in my career report,in my "career with wealth" section, there was a table which illustrated the following : There is a difference in having some wealth luck and being able to control it effectively so that it benefits you. Each person will have different amount of Wealth luck made up of earned wealth and unexpected wealth luck. Rachel Rachel wrote: Earned Wealth : Wood : 3 Unexpected Wealth : Wood : 0 This simply means that you have a total of 3 wealth luck (which is at most considered average since most people have between 2-4. Excellent wealth luck would be having like 5-7. It also tells me that your wealth luck comes more from your own hardwork rather than from like luck from say lottery winnings etc. Wood is often related to Wealth for a Metal person. If you are a Strong Metal person, you can effectively control your wealth ie Metal can cut down the Wood. But if you are a weak Metal, it is like you take a pen knife to attempt to cut down a 100 year old tree with a tree trunk as thick as a car tyre. You just are not strong enough to destroy the wood. Thus, in order to benefit from a career with wealth you need first to have lots of Earth and Metal to strengthen yourself. Only then can you benefit from the having a career with wealth. So having some wealth luck isn't the same as being able to effectively control it. It is two entirely different issues. So it is the same here for your Career with Power and Authority - Fire career. You can only benefit from having a career with great power and authority only when you are strong enough. But under your own chart. It means that you have some Authority deities and determination which is 2 each. That is again just average. Authority tends to refer to ability to lead ie leadership quality, while determination is simply how determined a person you are. On both qualities you are average. That's basically the difference or meaning behind it. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Quote: hi, i am currently searching for a suitable location for my outdoor wedding photo-shooting, could you advise me on whether which part of Singapore or place is the most auspicious one. Is there any things to avoid of? thank in advance. I personally, don't think you should worry about whether the location for your shoot is auspicious or not. As the location auspicious or not isn't going to affect your wedding. Probably finding a nice environment or scenery would be more important so that you have nice memory of the shot as a memory. Generally, any shades of colour that is still off-white nature or extremely light is still acceptable however, not advisable where you can avoid it. This is because, blue in I-Ching tends to represent water. Having water on your roof or ceiling will represent difficulty. So not very auspicious in terms of Feng Shui point of view. The best colours for rooms is always light shades of a particular. For ceiling it is best to keep white (Metal) which will be a neutral colour. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: To analyze a house number, should I enter the lot number first followed by the street number (e.g., 23-2210)? I am searching for a brand new home inNorth Carolina and found 4 lots (2 facing North and the other 2 facing South). The first North lot number is 23 and the street number is 2210. The second North lot number is 21 and the street number is 2222. Please tell me if they both have bad analysis so I can look for another home builder. The House Number we have on our website, is designed more towards Flats or Apartments within a Condo which has unit number in the format of ie #01-11 etc. This was to allow users to determine whether say a 5th level unit is better than 6th level unit etc. There isn't any analysis for a house number based on street number and lot number. It all depends on individual. There are lots of different way to check if a number is auspicious or not. Frankly, for checking such analysis based on your feng shui. I would advise using the Gua Number as to check. ie if you are Gua 1. Then make sure the number added up gives you 1. ie 2222 = 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8. So this kind number will suit you. Another method will be go for any nice meaning or by sound ie people like to go for 8 or 6 because 8 is Fa (Prosper) or6 sounds like Luck. The most important ultimately is the plot of land itself and the external factor. You should make sure that the plot of land is good first then when there is a choice of two different house number then decide which you like better.I can tell you thatluck of the house itself is much more important than the house number. So priority should go to getting the best location first. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: Hi, I'm a weak metal person, and my Bazi lucky elements are metal and earth. Unfortunately, a weak person tends to have a slight disadvantage compared to a strong person especially relating to the wealth element. Wealth element is the element your element destroy. So for a weak Metal, Wood is your wealth element. But unless you are strong enough, you cannot effectively control your wealth. Thus, that means that in order to be able to take advantage of your wealth, you first need to make your weak metal stronger. Only then can you benefit from your wealth element. That is the reason why Career with wealth isn't something you benefit. Rachel Rachel wrote: 1) Fire career is completely unsuitable for me. Rachel Rachel wrote: 2) Wood careers are not recommended for me unless I'm in close contact with earth all the time. Career with power and authority is always the element which destroy you. Just like the career with wealth, these career does not benefit you unless you are strong enough to control it. Rachel Rachel wrote: I don't understand the report at all. Why is fire career not suitable for me, even though it is my with Power + Authority career element? Please explain this for me Master Lee. This is very simple. A weak Metal person. Earth and Metal are your favourable element. Wood (Wealth - your career with wealth) desotry your Earth. While Fire (your career with power and authority) doestroy your Metal. These two careers though are your Career with Wealth and Power and Authority actually makes you weaker. They are extremely beneficial for a Strong Metal, but not a weak Metal person. That is why you need to have lots of Earth especially in order to benefit from such a career. As Earth element makes you a weak Metal strongest, it does becomes your most favourable career where possible. Next will come Metal element careers. But where possible, ideally you should go for Earth element careers first because these career is most effective at making your weak metal stronger. Rachel Rachel wrote: Also, since my Bazi lucky elements are earth and metal, why doesn't my career report mention that I should work in a metal-related profession? Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I've read from this website that it is the worst when toilets are located in the NE. Our 2 toilets (in master bedroom and kitchen) are in the NE sector of the house. How to cure the bad sha qi? Actually, to me more exact, toilets are bad if they are found exactly at the true North-East (exactly falling at the 45 degree angle). One should always remember, that a house luck consists of many factors ie luck from the surrounding, luck from the flying star luck of the home itself, shapes and form arrangement of furnitures within the hom etc. It is virtually impossible to get house with zero faults at all. There will be some minor faults in almost all home. What is important is to remember that whatever you can fix, you should correct them. Whatever, that you can't correct, then you just have to ensure that other areas are corrected to minimise the influence. In this, case there is very little you can do to move the toilet to a different location. So at most you can do if any is to ensure that you minise the leak from the toilet ie keep the toilet bowl cover close when not in use. The traditional solution would be to have like the hulu to attempt to trap some of the wealth before it leaks out. That is about all you can do for this particular problem. But I would advise you to focus on fixing or correcting any other flaws. This one issues alone will not make your home completely bad. Hope that helps. Just as long as he understands that these items are more of art work rather than having any special feng shui "properties". Only caution is whenever any items that is fierce looking (ie dragon/tiger etc), should avoid displaying too many of them. If really want to keep or display it should be kept in a display that can be closed or covered when no guest are around. This is because, we have seen cases where a husband likes collecting figurines such that his entire living contains lots of figurines displays that are very strong or yang related. This can cause a lot of great uneasinessand health issues. So when it comes to figurines or display, best to exercise some degree of caution especially what can be displayed openly what not to. So to the Chinese it symbolise Victory and most people tend to like him there as a protection purpose. Remember, these are all ultimately believes. As for the Hulu, basically an ordinary hulu will be sufficient. For mental solutions, best to keep the room painted white (metal) will be more effective. As mentioned, if your husband collect items for his own hobby that is fine. But to use them as a feng shui cure, that will not be correct as true feng shui isn't about items. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Before I discovered your site, I checked on Chinese astrology web sites. They say that my lucky elements are male earth, female earth, male metal, female metal and female wood. I sampled your free personalized report and it says that I am a weak wood and my suitable careers belong to water and wood. I should not go on metal and fire careers. If it's not too much to ask, will you enlighten me on this. Many thanks. Firstly, you should always remember, that though Chinese Horoscope and Feng Shui have some areas in common, they are still ultimately two different concepts. Chinese Horoscopes is most commonly analysed based only on your year of birth. Like if you are born in year of Dragon, then you are a particular element Dragon based on that year. ie Metal Dragon if you born in1940, or Water Dragon if you are born in 1952. This means that everyone born in the same year will be considered that element. Feng Shui especially the use of Ba Zi feng shui is commonly analysing your element based on the day and month of birth. This means that if you are born in 1952. You are still a Water Dragon (based on the year of the ba zi element). However, more accurately, within a year there can be a weak water/strong water, weak wood/strong wood etc. This means that if based on the day of birth, you might be a weak Wood person born in a Water Dragon year. Thus, this analysis gives you a much more accurate breakdown of your element. This is why in our website to determne the type of element, we use Ba Zi analysis. This gives the best and most accurate analysis of your element. As it different people born in the same year has a different birth element. Once you understand this difference, you will know why our analysis has defined you as a weak wood person. Since the ba zi is better and more accurate at determining your element, thus the analysis on the career suitability will also be more accurate than using the year of birth that the Chinese Horosope commonly base on. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Chong Boon Soon, Chong Boon Soon wrote: What is youradvise ifa house has a period 8 setting (which is good for 20 years beginning 2004) but also has a unfavourable influences such as facing T or Y? External Shapes and Form influence will always have more impact to an home compared to flying star or eight house influence. A house with good external shapes and form feng shui is a house is the key to enjoying a quantum leap in feng shui. That is why we keep stressing that a good house begins from the external environment. A house with good flying star feng shui only deals with luck within the four walls of your home. No matter how much you enjoy the luck, the luck from the external factors remain the same. As such to answer your question. It is not advisable to get the home, because the external T and Y factor will still create a sha qi to your home. Thereby reducing the overall luck that you might enjoy. Chong Boon Soon wrote: Can the good factor of period 8 overcome the unfavourable influences? If yes, does it mean it will last onlyfor 20 years? You see a 20-year chart of a house, does not really last 20-years only. It will continue to last as long as you do not make a major renovation after the 20-year year to convert the home to the new house luck period. Say your external factors not so good. Lets assume this makes your overall house luck 60%. A good flying star house luck will mean you might be able to enjoy upto 90%-100% of the entire 60% luck. That is about it. It will not enhance your house luck to enjoy more than the 60% influence. Say a flying star house luck is bad, this means out of the 60% luck maybe you can only enjoy 20-30% luck. So the answer to your question is that, with a good flying star house luck, you can only enjoy whatever luck is available to you after you consider the external factor influence. You can never expect to improve the house to compensate for the flaws from the external factors. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Frankly, to help everyone avoid the many confusions about the facing direction of the house, we have came up with these very clear definition to follow:- 1. For Landed Property, the facing direction of the house is the frontage of the house where the house building faces. Stand at the frontage of your home, take a reading looking outwards. 2. For apartments (2nd - 7th storey), take the main door direction of the house. Stand at the main door inside the house and take a compass reading looking out of the house. 3. For apartments (8th stoery and above), takethe facining direction of the house from the balcony / living room. Stand at the balcony or living room looking outwards. Take a compass reading and this will be your facing direction. These method allows you to apply macro flying star analysis to your home. The centerpoint analysis is not wrong except that it apply to only micro flying star which only analyses the interior of the home. We find that most people end up have some trouble to determine the main door properly because of some restrictions in using this kind of anlaysis for some layout. There are many different frontages for a home, getting the right one can sometimes be difficult for most users. As such, if you follow the above guideline, you should easily and clearly be able to get the right kind of facing for your home. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I had generated the 8 house report for both myself and my husband based on our date of birth. From the report I realised my husband and I have totally opposite directions. What is good for me is bad for him. E.g. my East is prosperity but his East is irritation. Anonymous wrote: In this situation, what can we do? Whose 8 house report should we follow? This is actually a very commonly asked question. Often in a household, the husband is usually considered the breadwinner as he provides for the entire family. Or the one earning most to sustain the family. So you need to first determine whether it is you or your husband. Very likely it would be your husband. So if this is the case, you should try to ensure that the breadwinner gets a suitable facing direction from the house. This will mean that he will get luck from the home itself. Since the breadwinner get luck from the house, the rest of the family will indirectlyenjoy this luck as he provides for the entire family. For the rest of the family, the bedroom location will be more important to obtain their own luck from the bedroom location itself. Thus, even if the house facing does not fit the various family member this is not as important to the rest of the family member. So under this rules, you should ensure the breadwinner gets the best luck from the house facing, and give a better bedroom to the spouse to enjoy. Ideally, if possible, try to look for a house that is good for the breadwinner but does not fall under the death or disaster for the spouse (the next most important person in the family). But do this only when it is possible. Sometimes, even if the spouse has a death or disater facing, but as long as the spouse have a suitable bedroom it is acceptable. Then for the bedroom, since the breadwinner has already gotten luck from the house, even if he takes a less suitable bedroom, it is fine for him. The spouse which did not get a suitable facing direction should then be given a better bedroom. Again, where possible, if the bedroom does not fall under the death or disaster for the breadwinner. This would be ideal. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
