  1. Dear Lily, Quote: May I ask if the breadwinner of the house is Strong Wood and water is his unfavourable element, can he still have a fish tank in his house if his house has a W8 in the right position. A little of everything even the unfavourable element is acceptable but too much will not be favourable for a Strong Wood person anymore. In this case, the flying star W8 is the water wealth sector. This will superceed the requirement of the ba zi. As what you are activating is the water wealth. So having a water feature there will be ok as long as it is in the right position where the water wealth is located. So even if the person is a Strong Wood, he can still have a water feature. However, he should avoid having too much more of water in other areas. So to balance up for example, his bedroom or personal clothing colours should avoid Water (blue/black/gray) to further add water to his Strong Wood person. As long as he balance up in other area, a water feature for the activation of flying star water wealth is acceptable Hope that helps Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  2. Dear Guest, In terms of studying, you should try to take a look at:- 1. Either your study direction, should try to face one of your 4 good directions under your eight house chart:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h.htm 2. Make sure also that you take note especially on where the sun enters into your room. Try to to study against the glare of the sun or where the sun light shines onto your table as it can be very distractive under such situation. Or where too much sunlight especially shining on the walls of your room can also make it very warm and thus very distractive. 3. The last thing to check is sometimes, it could be due to the colour scheme in the room not being the most favourable or conducive environment for you. So you can also try to take a look at the colour scheme. Ideally, try to have colours that you favour most based on your ba zi:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm 4. Other non feng shui aspect is to check out what other factors in the room is causing the distraction or simply try to also find a little time to do some short exercise which helps you feel more refresh and alert. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research.
  3. Dear Roeland, Roeland de Looff wrote: I live in an apartment on thefirst floor. There are private stairs running to the front door at the ground. This front door is immediately opposite the stairs. There is no room to place a screen or a plant. However, on top of the stairs there is a door. Is this enough to fix the leak? Sorry, I am not sure if I am getting the correct picture from what you have described here. Am I right to say once you open your main door, you see a staircase opposite of your main door. This staircase leads up to another entrance (probably your neighbour?), am I right? Anyway, even if I am wrong, the one way to solve this is to install a gate in front of your door. Try to install one with at least the bottom half fully covered (ie no gaps). This will help to deflect any sha qi if any. Roeland de Looff wrote: In addition there is a toilet placed right above the front door, butapart from replacing it, which is not possible, there does not seem to be any remedial measures for that. If something can be done any suggestion would be more than welcome. Unfortunately, there is no solution for this except unless you do a major renovation to remove the toilet completely. This is because a toilet located close to the main door (either on the side or top/bottom) isn't good because image your qi will be dirtied by the toilet. Hope that helps. 4. Dear Louise, Louise Ngan wrote: Thanks for your reply. In regards to what you have already said, does this mean that it's okay to pick a wedding date this year for next year (in accordance to the chinese calendar)? As far as I am concerned, there isn't any issue to pick a date this year for next or the following year. This is really up to the individual, some people might not want to pick, because the tung shu isn't out so unable to pick. Others, simply want to pick a date only in that year. However, if you pick the date too late, you may end up not finding venues (ie hotel etc) for your event as they may be fully booked. Hope that helps. 5. Dear Cindy, Would firstly appreciate that you do not post a message without any message content. Anyway, a house birthdate is defined as when the house was built (ie 1999 (would be a period 7 house). If there are renovations (especially major ones), ie hacking of walls or changing of interior structure of the house or expansion of the house etc. Such major renovations may cause a birthdate to be changed to a new period. So in such cases where major renovation was done after the house was built, the house might be converted to the year the major renovation was done. Hope that helps. However, you will need to check out which type of house it belongs to:- 1. HouseLanded Property (ie Bungalow/Terrace) - Take the frontage of the house by the where the front of the house is located. 2. Apartments (2nd - 7th level) - Take the frontage from the main door. 3. Apartment (8th level) - Take the frontage from the living room/balcony. If you are still unsure, provide us with a layout plan with North direction, indicate where is your main door located and which is the frontage of the house, we can advise you what you should take as the facing of your home. 7. Dear Lui Seong Yee, Lui Seong Yee wrote: Recently we are given a jade figurine of Dragon and Phoenix by my in law. Generally, for the most Chinese, it is generally inauspicious to receive receive anything that is broken.Whether it is a plate or figurines or decorative items. Nothing you can really do about it except probably not to display it. As it is not really good to display something that is broken. Lui Seong Yee wrote: We was thinking of attaching the wing back to the phoenix with a super glue, but was wondering does it have any impact or not? And please advice which area should we locate the figurine as both our kua is 5. True traditional Feng Shui does not really make use of figurines or times. Usually, such a figurine is considered a decorative item rather than having some special powers or mircle abilities. The dragon is considered a rather fierce creature, so it is best if to make use of it to face any external Sha Qi to help guard the house. Such items if any should be better place in like see through cabinet as part of decorative items if possible. Otherwise, no other major issue to look out. Just place them where you enjoy seeing it most. As long as you feel good about it, should be ok. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  8. Dear Cheryl, cheryl ludwig wrote: My best directions for my desk to face are SW and NE. The way my office is situated, for me to move my desk, it would sit diagonally. However, I thought that anything situated like that would not be good feng shui. What is the best possible thing to do in a situation like this? Thank you in advance. It is nice to get everything suitable to your personal feng shui. However, sometimes due to constraints this might not be possible. Especially, for office sitting directionis limited unless you own a room to yourself. Often, most people do not have much choice or flexibility in such changes. From what you mentioned, the current position would still be most shapes and form friendly position than to change the direction of your desk to your best facing direction. These direction are nice to have and only applicable if it is possible to place them in that direction and still comply to a good shapes and form arrangement. Shapes and form arrangement will have a higher priority than facing direction. cheryl ludwig wrote: If I place my desk facing NE, my back is facing the main entrance to my office. However, at the same time, I face the window (in the wall) that people pay me through when picking up trees, which is N-NE. I thought about putting a fountain in the north to help with this. I have decided that, unless I can put a desk diagonally, all the plugs for my computer, phone, etc. are also in the NE. So, should I put something to deflect the electricity? Since my back is to my main entrance, and I see no other way to arrange my office, should I put plants behind me on a table or more water (SE)? Thank you in advance. It really depends on your job scope as well, if people are going to be visiting you in your office, than it would be more practical and welcoming if you face the door so that you can see the people entering. If you don't need to meet people, then it should still be find if you face the wall. Ultimately, the overall shaps and form would be most important. It is hard for me to try to visualise what from text description. So quite difficult to advise whether it would be appropriate or not. Hope that helps. Frankly, based on our experience there might be several issues that might be inauspicious for a series of bad events to happen. Most of the time it should be closely related to the home / office where you reside in. This is because the Earth Luck feng shui has one of the greatest influence over a person's luck. This will probably have to couple with some inauspicious luck during that period that all come together for such problems. Based on your ba zi, it would seem that 2000-2004 is generally in auspicious period for you especially 2001,2002,2003. These are presence of clashes and harms that impact your luck further. I believe that together with your Earth Luck influence, would probably be the reasons why you have been having issues. [2000 to 2004] (shu-Earth) is an inauspicious period as it does not favour your 5 yearly Luck Period. [2000] geng-chen - Luck with you but Average [1st 6 months] geng - is a little auspicious. Apparentlyour Day stem and branch clashes with each other ie. I'm a Brown tiger and he is a black rat. In addition, we get married on the year which clashes with my husband. He was born in 1972 (rat) and we get married in 2002 ie a horse year. I was told I can 'lessen' the clashes by doing some kind of prayer by him.... and wouldcharging me quite a few hundred dollar... after reading quite of stories abt people being con in the newspaper.. I'mratherworry to bean'easy prey'.. would this kind of 'prayer' help???? .. although I still do understand it still very much lies on our on 'initiative' to get the marriage work. In any relationship, two different persons are involved. In order for a relationship to last, both parties must be able to see and understand each other flaws and willing to give and take so as be able to make a relationship last. This cannot be a one sided effort. As such, no one or anything else help youimprove the relationship. Any clashes in terms of ba zi etc, are just some indications that could be present. But ultimately, it is how much both of you love each other and thus willing to give in that will eventually make or break a relationship. Nothing else really can help you on this unfortunately. The only thing you can do with feng shui is attempt to create an environment (ie binding element wood so room decor in green/brown)that might help smoothen relationship but whether or not it will work still ultimately determine on the two persons involved. So my answer to whether prayer can help. Sorry, it will not help. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  11. Dear Anon, In our comparison module, basically we do a direct comparison between the two person based on the various ba zi pillars (ie day/month/year/hour/conception/life pillars). With so many different pillars that are analysed, it is quite common to have some clashes or harms found. Anonymous wrote: Earthly Branch Clash between year pillar (chen) & year pillar (shu). Earthly Branch Harm between year pillar (chen) & day pillar (mao). More important incompatibility isbetween year and year and day and day clash. Reason for these is because your animal sign is derived from the year pillar so if there is a clash that means the animal signs are in conflict. So not a compatible pair based on the horoscope signs. If your day and day clash it means that the birth element may be in conflict with the other person. Since the day of birth defines your day of birth thus a day and day clash is also something to look out. Especially, if it is an heavenly stem clash/harm which is more important. Clash is generally worst that harm. So in the above it simply means that you have an animal sign incompatibility. ie Dragon and Dog not very compatible. So there may be a higher chance of quarrels that might occur. However, ultimately whether a relationship can last depends a lot more between the two persons. If both person are willing to give and take the flaws that each person have, there is no reason why a relationship cannot last. So the analysis is ultimately a guide to see if there are any possible friction or differences that might arise. Hope that helps. 12. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: As I am planning to get married early next year, I have heard many feedbacks on which date to choose. My mother has heard from a friend that it's not auspicious to pick an odd numbered month (ie: 1,3,5). Is this true? She also added that I should not pick a date this year for next year's wedding as it will "carrying foward" (chak lien in cantonese). Is this true as well? . Frankly, just like auspicious numbers, there are a couple of ways of going about looking for a date. Most people for example just use the Tong Shu to determine which is the auspiciosu date generally suitable for everyone. For us, we try to choose a date that is good in as many areas:- 1. A date should be good in the tung shu especially for day and year should not clash. 2. A date should also be suitable to both the Bride & Groom in terms of the ba zi with as minimium clash/harm as possible. 3. Dates if possible should not clash with the bride and groom animal signs. Most of the time if a clash occurs, then you may not be able to find the best most auspicious dates in that year compared to another one. If you chose based on these, you will less likely to get wrong, as dates favourable to your individual luck will be most suitable for your individual luck as well as if the date does not clash it is generally suitable to most people as well. So you get the best of the two worlds. These kind of analysis is better than saying certain days isn't good or bad. In terms of auspicious dates, there is also general saying that 1st and 15th of lunar calendar are generally most auspicious etc. So there are many many such issues. It is really up to you to determine which way is acceptable for you. Anonymous wrote: As next year's calendar is opening only next month..would I also need to select a date for registration as I heard some say that it is not nessecary and as it is not included in the list of dates, like whento fix cupboard or to send gifts. Please advice. Thanks. Selection of dates for registration is optional. With the many wedding dates I have done, most people normally do not bother about the registration dates. However, since I provided a list of dates for the date range (for example betweenJun 2006-Feb 2007), they are still free to choose a better date for the registration if they wish to. Or when to best send the gifts or an chuan etc. Some users do request for this. But since a range of dates are given to users, they are quite free to select the dates which best fit them. However, ultimately, it is the customary wedding date that is most important. But again all depends on individual, some people are so traditional that even the sending the bridal gift also need to select the best dates etc, others only bother about the actual wedding dates. So really a lot is up to the individual and family. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

I do have some very close friends, whose parents are wonderful to me in a loving way. So, perhaps that counts. I hope so anyways. Yes, any good friends will also count. Just that in most cases family bonding if any would probably be stronger. But that does not mean that good friends will have weaker relationships. Sometimes, friendships can be even stronger than family relationship. Anyway, it is the same borrowing luck from other people is just the same as borrowing luck from people close to you. Your help is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, there is nothing much you can do with such a fixed layout. However, good news I can say is your husband which is Kua 2, and since the house face West, it is generally suitable for your husband. As for you, the house also suits you as as Kua 8, West is Longevity. Ktichen located in the East, would proably be more related to you (or the spouse who mostly use the kitchen more at least most cases are like this). Thus, the kitchen if located East will be Irritation for you which isn't too bad. The only thing I can say is to try to gain luck from other areas such as clothings colours, bedsheet colours or even car colour, career and people around you. Nothing much you can do about your home since there are restriction preventing you to do so. So you can only try to enhance other areas. Remember, that no home is perfect. 16. Dear Fanty Fang, Fanty Fang wrote: I want to build house in near future. I want to have water pond since my element is strong fire. My question is where should i build that water pond (facing what direction) ? Frankly, I never like to answer such questions, this is because the only true way to determine which is the best location to place any water feature is to first have a detailed analysis done on the home to find out where are the auspicious stars and how is the surrounding environment. Only then will you know exactly where will be the most beneficial place to place a water feature that can effectively trap wealth. To simply tell you that it is good to place here and there with only considering one analysis, can sometimes be dangerous as not all aspects have been considered. As far as I can advise you here. Under the shapes and forms concept only. A water pond at the frontage of the house is good because you help trap wealth before it leaks to other home. So placing a water feature at the empty land in front of your home is ok. As to whether exactly where it front of your home should be place based on your frontage, you will need to determine that by doing a flying star of the house and find out where is the auspicious water star (ie star 8 for period 8 house). That location would be most beneficial for the water feature. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  17. Dear Hung, Le Viet Hung wrote: My kua is number 3, meaning I belongs to the East group people. My house have the main door facing the SE. One book on 8 houses theory stated that the house kua will be determined by the main door facing, i.e. in this case this house belongs to East group house. So I am suitatble to the house Le Viet Hung wrote: But at the same time, another book stated that the sitting of the house will determine the kua of the house, i.e. NW and therefore the house belongs to the West Group house. So I am not suitatble to the house Frankly, this will really depend on the how you define the facing or sitting direction. Which I must say can be confusing if you get it wrong. As far as our website and all our tools are concerned, Facing direction is related to the center of the compass looking outwards. Meaning that if you say face west. It means that you are standing at the center (East) looking towards West. Or if you take a normal compass your compass should be pointing West from where you stand. So when we say West (metal) is favourable for you means that if the house faces West it will be good for you. Reason for taking this is because West is where the Qi flow will be blowing from and as such where most of the Qi will be coming from. So when you face west, Good Qi is coming from the West into your home. So that is how we determine the facing direction. I am aware that there are some sites which states that you should be be sitting on the good side and face the opposite site. However, as we are talking about how Qi flow enters into the house, this would mean that you sit on your favourable site, it will be the Bad Qi that will be entering into your Home. You see when you talk about facing West your house main door/frontage faces West. As such when Qi flow comes in it comes flowing in from the West towards East. Since West is where the good Qi is from, don't you want these good Qi to be blowing into your home? If you take the other concept where you should sit in your good sector meaning that if West is good, you must sit West and your main door/frontage faces East. Since East isn't favourable for your, Qi flow in from East which is inauspicious, it will be like inviting bad qi into your home. So as far we, our website and tools are concern, when we talk about Facing West, we literally mean your facing direction should face West, this allows good/favourable Qi to flow into the house from the West side. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center Applied Feng Shui Research

And my life has been difficult at times. Does the fact that I'm a weak wood mean that my life path will be hard, no matter what? I have no children. What exactly does weak wood mean and how can I help myself? Please help. Thank you... Being weakor Strong person does not make your life good or bad. It is how your ba zi luck period (ie 10-year/yearly luck) which changes from time to time. Whether such period favour or not favour you. If you find that most of your luck period is inauspicious, that isa clear sign that luck isn't with you most of the time. That means that you will have to work even harder to attain success. This you have to check out your ba zi luck to determine whether your luck is favourable or unfavourable to you. However, even for a person that does not have very auspicious luck period. Your luck can still be improve from the human luck factor, ie borrowing luck from other family members in your life. ie for a husband if the spouse has excellent luck, by being with her or letting her say run key areas of the business, will ultimately improve your overall business as you take advantage of her good luck to allow your business to succeed. Same goes for a family that has very good bonding, when in times of trouble, a strong family bonding will mean that everyone will pitch in whatever they can to help you get through the difficult period. Whereas, if you have weak family bonding, in times of trouble, they will not be there to help you and thus you will have to face the problem all by yourself. That is why I mentioned that having strong Human Luck can help transcent all difficulties and even improve your overall luck. Hope that helps. 19. Dear Anon, Quote: One should work in his/her wealth element career field to enjoy their wealth luck...... Frankly, as long as you work in one of your favourable elements and have favourable elements from your home, colour, and other areas, you will start to enjoy your favourable luck. With favourable luck, means you will be better able to take advantage of your wealth opportunities/luck. So it does not mean that people who does not go into wealth career will not be successful. The goal here is to get as much luck from all the various elements that you lack in your life. Quote: Does that mean that it does not help for the person to work in the wealth element career when that person does not have wealth luck to enjoy in the first place ( i.e. no wealth element in the bazi chart )? Quote: Or should he/she work in the wealth element career to improve their wealth luck? It does not matter if your career is your wealth career or not. What matters most is that say if you are a weak water, and you lack Metal and Water. So by having more elements favourable to you in as many areas of your life, you will then improve your own luck. Once you improve your own luck you will then benefit from any wealth opportunities that you encounter. ie. Career - Advertising (Water element) ie. Housse - East (Wood element) ie. Colours - Car/Bedroom/Clothes (Green/Brown - Wood, Blue/Black/Gray - Water) ie. People / family members - ie water/wood element Once you have as many of these areas in your favour, you will then boost up your existing luck period, year luck (which changes from time to time) so that they will be more suitable for you as such being able to take advantage of any wealth opportunities that come in your way. This is the only way any one can take advantage of their wealth. It is not by just focusing on what is the wealth career/element and only depending on that to bring you luck. 20. Dear Stan Teoh, Stan Teoh wrote: Dear Master Robert, in this case what would be the facing direction for units 06-21? If standing in front of the main door should be South but if taking from the center of the house from the main door would be SW. I'm a bit confused here. Pls help to clarify. Thanks a lot. To simply most people's worry about the facing direction. Actually, whether you take centerpoint to main door or facing drection, both won't go wrong. Why? Simply because, there is macro and micro application of feng shui. When you use take the main door from centerpoint, you are accessing a flying star chart which can only be applied to the 4 walls of your home. Thus, we termed it as micro application of feng shui. The benefit here is that the sector where your man door is located will as so be where your main door is actually located. When take the facing direction, this is a macro application of the flying star, where you can use the same flying star chart to assess even the surrounding of the home (ie exterior feng shui as well). When you use this facing, what happens here is your facing direction is South, but when you superimpose the flying star or eight house chart your main door is located on the South-West sector of the home. This is considered macro application of feng shui. So this same analysis can be extended to view feng shui of the surrounding. Since external Qi flow enters into the house, if you take the macro analysis, you will be able to properly determine the various external qi flow which is ultimately more important than just depending on what luck is available within the 4 walls itself. Both charts will be applicable. So in order to simply and avoid confusion, it is best that users should take the macro feng shui which will generally give you a better ideal of how external Qi will enter into the house. So in this case, based on our definition of the house facing, you just take the 06-21 as South facing house. Will be better. Hope that helps. They been stay at a corner for 2days. Why this will happen? There isn't anything about Moth and Feng Shui as far as I know of. So I too agree that this is more like insects taking shelter rather than any particular signs. So don't think there is anything to worry about. Hope that helps. 22. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Does a block number of a flat/apartment have any significance in feng shui audit? The feng shui luck comes from the house interior and exterior surrounding layout. So the location of where the block is located and how it faces is more important than the unit number or apartment number. So you should focused a good layout or good surrounding rather than just the number. You should only consider the unit number only after you have made sure the house and surrounding are good. ie if there is two units of the same layout and facing direction, but one on higher or lower floor. Then you can check which unit number is better. Otherwise, block or apartment number comes as the least overall important compared to the location of the block. Hope that helps. 23. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Can a strong water with no fire element in her chart pursue in fire element career? Does working in an advertising firm consider a fire element career? Fire is considered wealth element to a Strong Water person. So yes, a fire element career will good for a Strong Water person. Advertising is considered Water element. So a Strong Water person will not benefit from Advertising as a career. Fire element is more like Marking or Sales. Unless you are doing more of sales related career, then it will be beneficial. 24. Dear Anon, Name: Anon (Female - 02 Apr 1972) D.O.B: Lunar (1972, 2nd month, 19 day) at 7.00 a.m. to 8.59 a.m. Pillar Heavenly Stem (HS) Earthly Branch (EB) Hour Day Month Year Life Conception Element Strength Percentage % Rating(!-- Recommendation --> 5 Water Weak 44 % Reduce Element(!-- Have less of your Unfavourable Element --> 1 Wood Strongest 14 % Acceptable (Increase Element)(!-- Have more of your Most Favourable Element --> 2 Fire Strong 23 % Balance(!-- Enough --> 2 Earth Extremely Weak 5 % Increase Element(!-- Have A LOT more of your Favourable Element --> 2 Metal Weakest 11 % Acceptable (Increase Element Favourable Elements: Metal (11%) + Water (44%) = 55% Unfavourable Elements: Wood (14%) + Earth (5%) = 19% This is why you are Strong Water and not weak Water. Yes, though you are generally born ina season that your water is weak, but with 5 weak water it is already 44%. So this is a lot compared to the number of elements. Thus, you are a Strong Water. 25. Dear Anon, May I know what is your gender, date and time of birth? Frankly, our analysis does a very indepth analysis of a person's ba zi, meaning it breaks down all the element into percentage then from the percentage evaluation it will evalute whether a person is weak or strong. This is done through determing your seasons of birth, combinations of elements and lots more. I am not able to comment on your previous reading done. As I have seen many other masters who analysis is so brief that the birth element strength will not be properly determined. So this is very likely the case here. That is why they determined you as a weak water instead of strong water. All I can say is that if the free report determined you as a Strong Water, than it means that the percentage of your favourable Metal+Water will be greater than Wood+Earth. Fire since it is a double edged element ie destroy your Metal and exhust Wood so is considered neutral and thus cannot be used to side either favourable or unfavourable elements. The only difference between free and paid report, is that the free report will not show you the detailed percentage breakdown. Only the basic information. Hope that helps.
