  1. Dear Rose, Sorry for the late reply, as I was busy with other projects at hand, so did not participate in the Forum as much. Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Thursday, May 20, 1999 9:10 PM Subject: Re: Flying Star Computation Method Correct me if I am wrong: Mountain Stars are found in the sectors with mountain star numerals = 1, 6, 7 or 8 What about Water Stars? I don't see any Water Stars in my FS charts. Water Star is normally not found because, it requires open space to activate. Unlike Mountain Star, which you can activate so long it is found in a room, and there is a solid "wall" behind that location to activate it. Water star is normally activated for open area, so mostly outside or large living room. But in any case to activate it you need to maintain a fish tank or water front area. Which is simply not very practical for everyone. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

  4. Hi Everyone L and R Theory of Feng Shui, There has been some confusion on the `accuracy' of the Pillars of Destiny. Let me elaborate:- The Pillars of Destiny has a few parts:- 1. It can determine the True Element of a person e.g. Strong Fire Element. 2. You can cross reference the period in which your element. For example, in a particular period, what is the strength of the element for the period and does it have any effect on you. For example, if you are a strong wood element person, if 1999 has a season of strong fire, this is considered inauspicious. If you have a Pillars of Destiny done for you, you can then understand this and better control your `environment' i.e. further reduce your strong fire element. 3. The third part of Feng Shui is based on Fortune telling and divinity methods. Even the number of Yin and Yang in your pillars may not be true for you if you look at your own chart. Why is it that I have 6 Yin elements and 2 Yang elements yet I prefer mathematics, calculations? Here, you should be clear about one thing:- When we were born, our element and its strength will NEVER change. E.g. if you are a Strong Fire element, you are always for Feng Shui purposes, a Strong Fire element. Here you will understand why we always use the above for Feng Shui to analyse your element and its strength in relation to your individual, home, office etc... However, why is it that I have 6 Yin and 2 yang but love maths instead? Pillars of Destiny provide us with an understanding or CAUTION that one's pillars can be changed for example through education, up-bringing, useful experience and people you contact with, Feng Shui of your physical environment etc... For example, an intelligent parent may read through certain books on how to increase their child's skills development. If the parent is able to make the learning interesting or to stiumulate the child's learning, for example, in the area of mathematics, although the child have 6 Yin and 2 Yang, this can slowly be influenced. Therefore, today, if the child has his Pillars of Destiny analysed, it beg to differ from what he is good at. I hope you will now begin to understand why when I first `experimented' with the L and R Theory, I have two parts to it. Part 1. I believe that at your age (grown up age) of at least completed your `studies' or to be precise, have gone to work, you can see if you are more inclined towards the "spatial" i.e. if you are a white collar worker I gave the earlier example that in presentations, you prefer to use where possible diagrams or illustrations or icons together with words to express yourself. A more Yang person would like to express themselves using only words. Part 2. This is where, I asked you to count how many Yin and Yang elements you have. I have earlier in my note on the L and R Theory is that I am just trying see `how true' this is. I strongly believe that this can be changed. From current feedback, I believe that this `Part 2' is not accurate based on what I mentioned earlier ie. it can be changed through a person's education and upbringing etc... But I still strongly believe that the L and R Theory holds true under " Part 1". Therefore, I apologise if it may make some of us becoming confused as to if one part of the Pillars of Destiny is " inaccurate " doubt the rest of the Pillars of Destiny. Hope you have understood what I am trying to say as most users will know Geomancy.net has always focused on the Feng Shui aspects of using Pillars of Destiny. Two areas in Pillars which normally does not change is your True Element and Luck Pillars. These are born with you and will remain as your own personal influences throughout your life. Knowing these two influence, you can apply Feng Shui to bring out the best in your life and reduce any unfavaourable influence which may have disasterous effects on you. Other Fortune Telling areas such as characteristics, wealth are just for your interest if they are added into the analysis, as these have always been what many are looking for. But these information is often no longer accurate in our modern society as the many external influences can now alter these deficiency in your birth "characteristics". Warmest Regards Cecil
  5. Dear Ken, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, May 15, 1999 1:50 PM Subject: evil star Basically, the two stars influences will not change no matter what, except when the period for the house you are evaluating is 2 or 5. These influences does not need the life gua or change with the life gua. This means that it does not mean that if your life gua is 2 or 5, it is better. Life Gua is used for determining your own Eight House Chart, in many ways these two charts are different yet, the main origin comes from its similarity with Three 20-year Periods (San Yuan) theory. Eight House uses the Life Gua to determine the EIght Directions, which is your personal chart. The proper way to relate the life gua 2 and 5 is by converting it to the Eight Directions, and then matching the door to the eight directions. Only by doing so there is then a common ground for a 8 square grid of the Eight House and a 9 square grid of the Flying Star. This way the charts can be related to each other to see if the house is suitable for you or not. You cannot use the fact that the life gua is 5 therefore your the influences in the 2 and 5 star reduced. The only influence which can affect the stars in the flying star chart (especially the Mountain and Water are the 20-year, Yearly, Monthly, Daily, Hourly, etc.) or the period of the house being built. Similarily, when the Life Gua which used as the personal flying star, is used to help to determine the directions less the stars number by itself. Only when you have the directions influences in place, can you relate the two charts together. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  6. Dear Joe, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, May 15, 1999 10:07 PM Subject: disagree with pillar report Are you again refering to the personality and physical characteristics from your knowledge of the "Harriet Beinfield's book _Between Heaven and Earth_ (describes the 5 elements and types of people, foods and Chinese medicine). " as well as your own personal intuition? I viewed you and your spouse data. Interesting I noticed that in yours you had lots of water, which made you feel that you were water, but in fact you were weak Fire. Which when your acupuncturist told you to increase your fire, it was pretty good as you were weak in Fire due to the many water element in your life. Which happens to be correct because it was indeed helping your weak Fire, and not what you had assumed as Water element. As for your spouse, there are initally also 3 fire, but after combinations had taken place you only had 2 fire left. In fact your spouse had 4 metal, 2 water, & 2 fire. Metal further strengthens the water, making your spouse a Strong Water. For Strong Water, Wood is a good exhausion, or Fire is a good controlling element for reducing the metal in your spouse data. So far I noticed that your intuition has been pretty accurate in determining the most suitable element for yourself and your spouse. However, a person's intuition may not be able to differentiate a person's true element. Secondly, I have no idea what the book which you have read has mentioned in terms of how they use element to determine your personal characteristics or personality. So far in the current pillars version, these analysis are not included, simply because, a person's personality, can be pretty complex to determine as it changes throughout a person's development, education etc. Thus, it may not be accurate to use Pillar's Heavenly given luck and charts to provide such analysis. Instead, many a times, using additional chinese astrology, Three Lives (San Shi) or Chinese Numerology, Palmistry or Face Reading theory is often more accurate as it takes into account other influence not seen by Pillars. So because of that, what I believe is that your intuition has already help you to determine the elements which you should use to help your own elements in order to benefit from it. I personally do not see much of a conflict, except that, you are now more aware of the actual element which you are born with, thus allowing you to further fine tune the cures and charts to your life. Pillars alows you to know the true element such as weak Fire for yourself and strong water for your spouse. These can be pretty different if they were instead strong Fire or weak water. For yourself, Water is pretty strong making your Fire weak, while Strong Water in your spouse, makes is necessary to use Wood to exhuast or Fire to control. Hope that helps to resolve your conflicts in your personal intuition and the true elements. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

For a brief summary, if you house is a period 7 house, and you make any changes before 2003, it is still period 7. There will not be any changes. If your house is built before 1984 then, making any changes could affect the flying star of the chart.

There are some error as it is not consistent with the formula she had deduced for the movement of the stars forward and reverse. Thus, one or two of the charts I think got the stars movement wrong. Her steps for deducing the forward and reverse sometimes do not match the charts she used for example. That sort of minor error which I believe are due to either publishing error or as mentioned Flying Star is pretty complicated and she could have made some slight human error. Normally, I would recommend you cross-reference with another book, but for Flying Star, unfortunately, there isn't much books to refer to. As for the analysis and interpretation of the stars, most of it is pretty ok, except that she did not go into details about a great deal of many things. But it is expected, this study is pretty complex. In any case, most of the information in the book is correct. She uses the Lunar charts, which I also find more accurate then another method the Xia charts. Anyway, it is a start for at least learning the fundamentals of Flying Star calculation. If you are in doubt make use of the Flying Star Chart generated by the Geomancy-Online which had been verified thoroughly since version 3.0. Just remember her books also shows the charts in a South-North method, as for the site I have simplied it for users to easily use the chart by reversing the charts for North-South analysis. In any case, that book provides some easy foundation for users to begin learing Flying Star, just be aware that the book is not 100% error free. Hope you understand, currently both Cecil and myself are pretty busy, and are unable to go through the book to give you the exact details. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Without it, I am unaware of certain influence which is possibly caused by the Feng Shui of the house. Yes, the toilet is not auspicious to be located at true directions. This normally symbolises wealth going down. Just keep the toilet bowl cover down and close the door when not in use. Not much you can do about that. This is specially true when ever an auspicious star flies into that direction. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

So so long as the element in the month is one of your favourable element in your case, anything which is Water or Earth should be good for you. You see, what the Ba Zi birth chart considers is the seasonal influences which you are born in to deduce your elements. The seaons when it comes in, is often extended throughout the world. Only difference is there is a level of shift in how strong the effects are. Ba Zi, in itself has many limitations to start with. It is difficult to take into account many aspect, but the key purpose of the chart is to see what kind of influence you are born with. Or in another what most Chinese believe is that you are born with a certain given fate. And therefore, Ba Zi is supposed to reveal that secrets to you so that you can better take advantage of it. Very good reasoning. And well, actually if you look at Feng Shui a lot comes from reasoning. Well what you got is the Earth Wrong, It should be Metal. Actually there are only 4 seasons right? So Each element is represent by the 4 seasons except for earth. Earth is found in every season. But only dominate in the 3rd month of each season. Where all the previously strong element becomes weak as it awaits the birth of the other season. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Also, because for the yacht, your directions are often changing, realistically there is no way you can even apply Flying Star or Eight House to your yacht, your boat is often changing directions. If you do want to apply Feng Shui to your yacht, the only possible theory is either Yin & Yang, Colours and Five Element. This means you can apply things like say if you are a weak wood, then obtain colour of an element that would strengthen you when you are in the boat. Frankly, other then that, many of the other theories cannot be used on the yacht, as your yacht is not in a fixed direction. If there are any other views to this, free feel to comment on this. However, this is my personal opinion based on the various theories available. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

The hexagram is the Metal Element and the surrounding is Water. I leave you to guess what our Element is:) May I guess i. weak water ii. strong fire, or iii. strong earth I believe you can understand the reasons for my guesses. What is the difference between metal (gold) surrounded by water (blue), vs water surrounded by metal? The difference is that metal surrounded by water, actually enhance the water from within. Therefore making water much stronger. Whereas, if Water is inside and then surrounded by metal, water insider becomes stronger, but the exterior metal is weaken. And if you noticed the external should be stronger then the interior so that it is able to deflect external forces. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

  21. Dear Airvrm Teo, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Monday, May 10, 1999 12:10 AM Subject: Flying Star These are 81 unique interpretation which has been analysed and used by masters as standards explanation. Most of the interaction are pretty simply and direct as such the results can be deduced without the base star. But for certain stars, where the influence is not very clear, the base star has to be considered as it could change the influence of the two stars. The orginal messages are in chinese verses. This is because 6 is a star which is need not be auspicious if it is not in period 6. 6 is supposed to be strong metal while 5 is supposed to be earth. Given that 6 is strong metal, but if it will be too strong when it exhuast 5. Thus if the period is not 6 then, the results is bad. Otherwise pretty ok. So in certain combinations the base star is pretty important to deduce if it is good or bad. In any case, you are advised to used the newly added Five Element Analysis for the interpretation of stars, because the analysis has taken into account several analysis such as element of the two stars, the strengths of the two stars, and even the type of combination (aupicious, average, inauspicious). These can accurate give you the solution for the interaction of the stars. The 81 interpretation is for simple reference, and some detailed analysis that has taken the above with relationship to the Five elements to the body parts etc. It can only be used to analyse the Moutain and Water star and not any other combinations. Such as Moutain and base or water and base. You cannot use it for even 20-year vs yearly. The results are meant more for the two flying stars. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  22. Dear Arivm Teo, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Sunday, May 09, 1999 11:58 PM Subject: Flying Star The most important is first to take note of the interaction between the mountain vs the water star. This normally produces the influences such as illness, or etc. After that, when the two stars are analysed, to make it even more comprehensive a comparision to the base star is necessary. Certain combinations does not really create any major influences as such only with the base star can the details be known. Not sure if you are aware, we have recently revised the flying star to v6.10 with an addition to the Triple Combination which takes a look at the base star espcially when the combination of the two stars are inauspicious. If not, feel free to generate the new report. Yes, 2 & 5 are pretty bad combinations, and you have to put cures reduce the influences created by the stars. It is best not to even stay in the room if you can avoid it. As 2 is illness, while 5 is misfortune / illness. These two stars combines and possible results could be very ill and even possible misfortune. For kitchen the double seven is pretty good because it is for a house the kitchen is supposed to be where food is cooked for the entire family. Simply activate the mountain star if which I believe should be found in this combination. By using an object with mass such as paper weight and placed on a shelf in that direction. But take note is that you need a wall without window just below the where you want to place the object. Either way, 2 & 5 or 5 & 2 are equally bad. These stars combines to form very bad influences. These are created by Earth stars, so best is Metal or Wood (such as 6 coins tied together or wood objects such as plants). Although most books recommend wind chimes, but wind chimes is sometimes a double edged element, with the number of rods which can represent a certain element as well as the wind chime can come in forms of metal, wood etc. Which is why we do not recommend it. In any case any Metal or Wood object should be sufficient to weaken the two inauspicious Earth star. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

  24. Hi, Sorry for the late reply. As this message was sent anonymous, it does not go into the mailing list and we do not login every day to view the web message. If you do so there will be a protrusion in this sector. Normally, for a house it is not advisable for a house to have protrusion especially in the true cardinal directions (North, South, East, West). Under Feng Shui interpretation, it is best not to have protrusion at the North. You can still use the existing center point. However one caution:- 1. Your Flying Star of the house may change. This is especially if your house is built in the period 6 or less (1983 and below). This means that if you have good stars in the previous year, and this changes, your luck may change to the new chart. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  25. Dear Peggy, Apologise for the late reply. As this message is sent anonymously it is not sent to the mailing list, and we do not login to the forum every other day. Depending on the situation. It is sometimes better to shift to a better room. It is ok for Feng Shui. Most importantly, your bedroom should in the room which is in your 4 good location. This would be better then staying in rooms which is not under your 4 good directions. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
