As for this question it is simple. You see you can only take advantage of your wealth deities when you are Strong, this means that give that you are born strong fire, you are already possibly a person with strong will or simply a person who should be able to lead etc. Thus, being strong, you can then take advantage of being able to "command" or "control" the deities. This means that you can know when and how to take advantage of making money when it appears in front of you. Hope you understand what I mean. ie. You have lots of opportunity to make money but whether or not you can take advantage of it is up to you. It is auspicious for you, because it is your Wealth. Metal is considered your wealth deity. Thus, being strong fire, any Metal in your life can be turned in to your wealth. Warmest Regards Robert Lee ------=_NextPart_000_003C_01BE9801.96A668B0--
  2. Dear Joe, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'feng-shui-tips' suppressed 'feng-shui-tips' suppressed> Date: Wednesday, May 05, 1999 10:19 PM Subject: House direccio/kua number Yes, we know of a printing error, however, I cannot remember if that is the particular portion which is wrong. In order to verify, you can make use of the Free Eight House Chart at www.geomancy-online.com or the Eight House Template at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm. The charts generated here have already been tried and tested for many years. They will provide you with the accurate information. So long as the house is not facing the death or disaster for the breadwinner it is ok. As these two are the most inauspicious under the Eight House Theory. We have found many users who had these two lines falling at their main door or bedroom, having lots of problems. Ideally, if it is best to have any of the four good directions at the main door and your bedroom. If the spook or irritation is at the main door not so bad. But make sure the bedroom has a good direction influence otherwise, the breadwinner will also have difficulties. The bedroom and main door are the two key areas when finding a suitable house. Additional, make sure that the center of the house does not have a toilet, kitchen, stairs. Preferably the center of the house should be left clear or neutral location. So that all the intangible forces can merge without any one element being strong to create an imbalance in the location. Other then that, you have to look out for any other shapes and forms etc. And for serious users you may want to consider using the Flying Star to obtain the Feng Shui of the house so that you can prevent any unexpected disasters due to the bad influence created by the Mountain and Water star. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  3. Dear Chris, Apologise for the late reply. Was checking through the forum and found these unanswered. That section of the Flying Star is pretty complex because each of the month, day, hour has different condition it must fulfill. Such as which month in which they fall under. And if you are doing the analysis for the male or female personal flying star, the gender say male goes in ascending order and female in descending order. There are also one set of calculation based on Xia, and another for the lunar. So each has a slightly different for determinining the month, day, hour, minute and second. Normally, very few use this for house, as they normally go until month should be sufficient. The detail analysis after that is normally for personal flying star which you can use to predict the day and hour which you should get married, finding lost person, etc. One reason is because it is not feasible to be changing your cures for the house every day, every hour, and every minute right? So normally these calculation are applied as a form of determining auspicious day and time. For personal calculation usually. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  4. Dear Vivian, Apologise for the late reply. Was checking the forum for any unanswered mails and this message was found. Well, actually, it is not because of specific numbers but more towards the inter-relationship of the element, element's strength's of each stars to another. This is a pretty complicated process just for determining 2 stars and becomes even more complex when determining 3 stars. However, it normally does not end there, because you have to in turn cross reference it to the yearly, and then to the monthly, which is a 5 star analysis. Just two star analysis, it is possible to come up to about 200,000 different inter-relation between the stars. Furthermore, the stars have yet to be related to the directional element. Yes, because the above represents the wood - metal - fire. This combination happens to balance the elements together the wood is exahusted by the fire, which in turn destroy the metal. The metal in turn destroy the wood. Which creates an equilibrium. So long as the combination is not further disturbed it is considered a good. Normally, it takes 3 elements to create a balanced element combination, so when you encounter such combinations, the result is no longer inauspicious. Sorry, cannot recall any as the charts are normally changing and sometimes even if the combination is good but the person who is staying there does not suit it, then it is no use too. For example, a person with Strong Wood, Strong Metal in the above influence is not necessary that good as he is too strong for such influences. Rather if a person is weak Water or even Strong Water, it could further create a good balance for the person. As he is in one way strengthened by the Metal and also exhausted by the Wood. Anyhow, you still need to relate the stars to the person who is staying there otherwise even how good a house maybe, if it does not suit him or her, it will not be good for that person. That is the limitation of Flying Star without cross referencing to the person in the house. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  5. Dear Chris Ng, Apologise for the late response. I was going through all the forum message and found this still unanswered. You need to relate the elements and then do a full detailed analysis based on element strengths and the good and bad stars. This is a very complex analysis which has been taken care of in the latest Flying Star report analysis. If the combinations are good, then the sector is good. Otherwise you have to cure them. This has to do with the direction of the door and which sub-sector it falls under. Then taking into account if it is yin or yang and apply it to the stars. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  6. Dear Users, We are pleased to inform you that the Report / Course & Book management has been integrated into the Universal Manager v3.0. 1. We have added a Frame Navigation which links all 3 existing modules together. Also, all key Account Management options are available from the Frame Navigation. Users can login from any of following url:- - http://www.geomancy.net - http://www.geomancy-online.com - http://www.geomancy-u.com - http://www.geomancy.net/fs/book.htm Each of the pages will be linked together with the Frame Navigation for you to access all facilities without needing to login individually to the various login screens. 2. The internal pages are also re-designed, with so that it is easier to navigate. All the layout have been re-organised so that it has a uniform look and uniform navigation access. 3. The Sample for the Pillars of Destiny and Flying Star paid reports are now generated on-the-fly. This means that users can see the sample report generated by the latest version of the reports rather then the older sample which may not have been updated or regenerated by us at the time of the launch. 4. Users can change password, update personal particulars and view paid item tracking references, etc. 5. All the modules has been recompiled as many changes to the internal functions was made. Once again we like to take this opportunity to thank all users for their support. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  7. Please read below:- Glad that you are doing well:) I will be adding in a module for the proposed element objects. For now here are some guide. 1. You can make use of the Five Element Cures, there are proposed objects relating to the elements in the last portion of the report. Basically, it is ok to make use of any type of object so long as it fulfills the element recommended. That is why rather then using fixed cures, we have provided the solution in Element form. More importantly the cures should also suit the person who is often using that room. 2. Some simple example which I can produce off-hand are. Example:- ======== a. Metal - 6 Metal Coins, White / Gold Colours object, b. Water - Crystals, Blue, Black or Gray colours object c. Wood - Plants, Brown, Green Objects d. Fire - Red String or brightly lit place e. Earth - Yellow, Rock, Brown colour. Fish tank and Wind Chime is normally not recommended as there are many types of elements relating to it, as such a wind chime can be considered a double-edged sword which can do harm if applied wrongly. Best to clarify for this cures if you do intend to use it. In the up and subsequent revisions, a module for element cures and fixed cures would be added. So that it is easier for you. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  8. Further to this mail regarding Pillars of Destiny Strength. I would like to share this everyone. ============================================================================ ======== Pillars of Destiny provides you with the Heavenly Influence which is calculated from the Heavenly Stem and the Earthly Branches influence of the current time. The information provided is able to tell you:- 1. Your true birth element. 2. Your 80-Year luck periods. 3. Fortune Telling This theory often takes into account only the person involved. So if you are the only one facing constant problem, you will notice that when you look at your own personal chart you are often in your very bad heavenly luck. What can you do with this? 1. Your true birth element is very useful in fine tuning cures for yourself. What do I mean? Simply everyone is born with different Five Element influence. Too much of any one element is not good, too little is also not good. Just like your body, if there is not enough food, you get hungry. Similarly if there is too much food, you get fat. Either way to the extreme, it is bad for your health. So similarly, the Five Element influence acts the same way. What is important is the principle of balance. Knowing this, you can often help yourself, by enhancing what you lack and controlling what you have too much. 2. Your true birth element is useful to fine tuning cures to your house. What do I mean? If a house has the best Flying Star, but the cures which are put in place say use Metal Wind Chime, and so happen that you are a Strong Metal, this will in turn harm you as you are already strong Metal. Many a times, we have seen that many users who had asked for advice, was that the professional FS consultant which help them did the following. They calculated a perfect Xuan Kong Chart for the house and used textbook cures such as this location has bad stars, so must use metal. Just like in the above, if you are a strong Metal, then this cure will in directly harm you. 3. 80-year luck period and maximising it. 80-year luck period tells you the ups and down which you will face along your life. There is no one person that is perfect all the way. Even at best he may live a blessed life for a continuous period of 60-years. Every year, every month influence changes. Only when you know when is your best can you make full use of it. Say for example, if you wanted to start a business, you will often find more success when you try to start in during the good years in your life rather then in the bad periods of your life. 4. Fortune Telling. Pillars is one of the tools used to predict many types of queries in your life such as suitable partners, marriage, wealth, and etc. These are supposed to be as mentioned to you in the earier mail that, every one is fated to a certain life. However, due to many external influence now-a-days, such as technology in test-tube babies, although the charts can say you do not have any babies, does that mean you really cannot have them? Same goes for suitable partners etc, due to Education and many other aspects in life a person's fate is changed a lot. Thus, in many areas technology is able to compensate. ============================================================================ ======== Flying Star (Xuan Kong Fei Xing) is often regarded as a theory that allows any one to calculate the magnetic influence of good and bad influence in an Earthly Luck. These represent the constantly changes influence for a house. This theory is a powerful theory that can calculate the exact location of the influence of each sector, and you can cross analyse it from 20-year, year, month, hour, minute and seconds. The information is able to tell you:- 1. Your good/bad influence in any one of the 9 sector. 2. Time factor accuracy details What can you do with this? 1. Finding problems affecting everybody. Often if you find that the entire family or persons in the house or office is facing problem, it is often due to the influences by the two stars Mountain and Water Star. These two stars creates very powerful influence which superceeds any other good influence in your Pillars, Eight House, Eight Asperations. This includes overriding any Heavenly Luck or other Earthly Luck influences. 2. Cures to inauspicious sectors of the house. This theory is able to deduced the problem element which is affecting the influences. Often that is why certain practitioners say you have to use Metal Wind Chime or hang Six metal coins etc. All this boils down to the basic Five Element principles. However, for a cure to be effective, you cannot discount the true element of a person. We have often found that, many times a cures that is implemented does not suit the various person involved, thus, resulting in more problems at the later stage. What this theory cannot do is:- 1. It cannot tell you any external influences which is governed by the Shapes and Forms. Often we also have many users who had seek our advice that the professioan FS consultant made changes to their house and it never last. Why? We found out that what they have used is often only one theory only analysis. Such as either using Eight House or Flying Star. This is often very bad, as each theory has its own specific used and one theory without the complement of another theory is often very bad practice. It is like saying that a doctor only knows about Kidney and his diagnoise everything about the Kidney ignoring the rest of the body parts. That is how dangerous it can be. ============================================================================ ======== Eight House is a personal version of Flying Star but using only the 8 Trigrams. This theory is used mainly as a personal directions and finding suitability of the house. The information is only able to tell you:- 1. Your personal good and bad direction or sector. 2. Suitability of a house What can it do? 1. Suitable House On a simple level, it provides the quickest way to determine whether a house suits you or not. So what if a house has the best Flying Star but does not suit you? This spells disaster for that person, not necessary the rest of the members. 2. Suitable facing direction for sleeping and working It is the theory that can tell you where is your best location for working that will bring you benefit etc. Flying Star cannot tell you such details as such you require this chart for that purpose. What it cannot do? It cannot predict the house's Feng Shui. Thus, cannot be used as a replacement for the Flying Star Chart. ============================================================================ ======== Shapes and Forms is often one school which is normally not practiced by many FS consultant. We have found several cases where by often the cause of the problem actually arises from some sha qi from external influences. Furthermore, an audit of a house is incomplete, without looking at the external influences, as mentioned, each theory is meant for a specific used. Without knowing what each theory does or how it can be used, often it is misused or misled you to thinking that certain thing is indeed that way. ============================================================================ ======== I-Ching this is another form of school in which most of the principles and fundamentals of Feng Shui derive itself from. It is a powerful yet extremely complex school of study, of which many important theories such as the binary 2 to power of 2, to power of 3 etc is derived. It is stated that this provides prediction of past, present and future events. It was also stated that it is possible to even make changes to the "heavenly" luck of a person. ============================================================================ ======== Hope that you found these information useful, as I feel that users should be aware of what each theories are used for so that when you are trying to find cure or improve yourself, you are more aware of the what each is able to do for you. Only when you are aware of what they can do for you can you fully utilise Feng Shui to create the most harmonous environment for you, your family and your business. Not all theories are needed for every type of evaluation, so knowing this, you can then apply specific tools for your requirements. Once again, wishing you well:) At the same time, we like to thank all users for your encouragements and support. We are very happy that our efforts has helped many users all over the world. The best reward for us is that you and your family have benefited from the usefulness of Feng Shui:) Warmest Regards Robert Lee -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, May 01, 1999 11:04 AM Subject: Re: Strength of Day Pillar
  9. Dear Jackie, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, May 01, 1999 5:50 AM Subject: Strength of Day Pillar However, in real life situation, there are many aspect which makes it hard for us to incorporate into the calculation, such as like you mentioned the place where you are born, the persons who delievered you. The building which you were born in, your parent's element etc. There are a whole list of situation which cannot be considered into the determination, as such normally no one will do such inclusion into the calculation of the pillars. It makes it too complex and there is no way for you to know many of those details. You see Pillars of Destiny is considered your heavenly luck interpretation. This means that based on certain date of birth, it is possible to calculated the type of life you are "given by the heaven". For the chinese especially true for those in the past, often believe that you are born with a given fate by the heaven. This was the intended purpose of this chart. And in the past it was believed that it is impossible to change your luck or life. However, now with technological advancement etc, it is possible to make changes to your life. Also, if you apply I-Ching principles, which consitute Heavenly and Earthly Luck, it is stated that it is possible to predict and change influences but that is another whole different area. So if you understand that, you can see why I personally think that adding such additional factors is not necessary. Furthermore, how sure are you that you can obtain the place, how do you know what kind of Flying Star Influence of the place you are born, the elements of the people who delievered you? and lots more. So practically, it is not necessary. Anyway, the Pillars itself does not require that. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  10. Dear Pedro, Thanks for your detailed information. I am sorry to trouble you but can you let me know the following:- 1. Describe what is at the centre-point of the house? Is it `empty space=' or a room/kitchen etc... 2. What is the entire length of the house and the width. Either the estimated length and width or by percentage e.g. the length is 100 percen=t and the width is 33.3 percent. (something like this) 3. Where is the location of the toilet and the kitchen? 4. How are the rooms located? Is there a `dividing' wall between the roo=ms e.g. is there a corridor. If the above sounds too confusing, perhaps, you can attach a graphics e.g. in GIF, JPG or even BMP format to the forum message. This would help me understand better. This is because the flow of Qi or Ch'i in such a house needs to be looked at carefully as compared to a `normal' house. Hope you understand. 11. Dear Flying Star Users, We are pleased to announce that the latest major revision of the Flying Star Report is finally completed. We understand the various complexity facing users trying to understand or analyse the charts. Thus, we have now improved upon the v5.11 charts to improve upon the understanding of the charts. We have simplified the charts so that it is easily readable just the like latest Pillars (Ver 6) report. Ver 6.00 ======== 1. Improved Report Layout for the Flying Star incorporating Element Representation, and detailed summary chart for each section of the report. This new layout should make understanding each sector easier and less reference is needed to the main chart. As each sector will have self-contained information. 2. Element and Element Strength's representation of each Flying Star number. Rather then using the complex number analysis, we have improved and made use of the Five Element Relationship to the Number, providing for easy analysis and understanding of why there is a need to use certain cures. In addition the strength's of each element is also taken into account. Eg. Strong wood vs weak wood. 3. New Five Element Analysis. This is the latest core module which will allow for detailed analysis by the true Element Strengths providing in depth solution to what type of element cure is required rather then fixed element cures such as 5 coins, wind chimes. By providing the true element representation, this allows for more accurate solutions and alternatives to cures available. These cures are can now be more specific. Also, it can now be easily related to your Pillars and the directional element. 4. Yearly Chart Analysis is now available with the analysis using the Five Element Analysis. We have already completed the Analysis module for the Yearly Chart. In additional to analysis for the 20-year chart, you can now see how auspicious each sector of the yearly chart is in relation to the 20-year chart. This is the long awaited module by all users. 5. Stars are now classified into Auspicious Stars, Inauspicious Stars and Average Stars. The summary of these stars, can give you a quick view of whether the sector is good or bad. For example, 3 Inauspicious Star, normally signifies, extremely bad sector. Similarly 3 Auspicious Star normally signifies extremely excellent sector. Enhancements that still being refined / developed before it is released for everyone to use. ============================================ 1. Monthly Chart Analysis. The analysis of this chart is being written. 2. A new 81 Standard Cures description. 3. Five Element Analysis with the Base Star. Providing answers to 3 combinations effects and influences. So look out for our next revision. For all paid users of Flying Star, simply login to the Report Management and regenerate the latest v6.00 flying star charts! Once again, we like to take this opportunity to thank all users for their support! We will continue to improve our website for your benefit! Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  12. Dear Kieron, Under Feng Shui, the most `vulnerable' area for poison arrows are: 1. the main entrance door. 2. the view from windows inside the house. The concept of `poison arrows' is that if you cannot see the poison arrow, there is no longer a threat. For a dying tree between your home and your neighbours, it is no `threat' unless: 1. it can be viewed from a window of a house and when it fulfil para 2 below. 2. when the tree disintegrates into a `tree stump'. When you only have a `broken' tree stump, this now becomes a `sha' provided when you peer through the window, it is tangent or perpedicular to it. In the long run, it is best to totally uproot the tree incase of decay and especially if it is large to fall and hurt someone. In my country, we do have termites and it would be `wise' to pull down the tree or if it can be rescued, then that's fine. Maybe you could make some agreement with your neighbour to share the costs. In conclusion, currently there is no threat unless it satisfies condition under Para 1. and 2. above. 13. Dear Anita, Thanks for bring up this interesting question. We will first begin by looking at the `history' of Feng Shui in China. In the past, Chinese were mostly into agricuture (farmers ) and live-stock rearing. What this means is that food was obtain from the land. Eaten, and left overs were `re-cycled' e.g. as some of them they rear pigs, these "garbage" were given to the pigs to be eaten. Manure or other `solid' wastes were used to fertilise the land. From the above, you will notice that they (ancient Chinese) do not have what we have now... " garbage " in the form of non-biodegradable products etc..... Overall, Feng Shui is used to assess: in the above case of a home: the Landscape, the site, if you are living in an apartment the apartment building and then the home. One should thus pay more attention to Feng Shui relatiing to the above and up to an individual apartment. Things like how to discard garbage can be considered " peanuts " Feng Shui or the least important issues of Feng Shui. So long as we are hygenic i.e. reguarly empty the garbage and if it is placed outside our house ensure that stray animals do not get to it, this will be fine. Such issues are even less important in daily Feng Shui living and if some one were to come up with such a routine; it no longer becomes Feng Shui but rather `relates to ' superstitious belief. Real Feng Shui does not have a routine. The key issue for a home is that in the past, Chinese homes do not have a toilet in their house but a distance away. This `solid' waste is more important consideration. Even today, it is inauspicious to have sewerage pipes/channels running under the house or crossing (especially the bed rooms). The above two issues are more important than any `fixed' routine on discarding garbage. Therefore, in my opinion, real Feng Shui is concerned for example of proper `sitting' or `placement' rather than nitty gritty of how to dispose of garbage etc.. We have to be careful and like yourself, each of us are in search of the `truth'. The sad thing about Feng Shui in my country is that there is no licensing authority and many dubious people carry on calling themselves " Master ". But many people simply do not question them but automatically given such people recognition thinking that a Doctor is but a Doctor. Like any disciplines, even if one calls himself/herself a " Master ", they may not be skilled in all areas of Feng Shui and Chinese Divinity. Just like a Doctor, there are General Practioners, Specialist Doctors etc... I hope that if you are reading this, if you ever engage a FS practioner, don't always take what they say.. times have changed, infact, ask them for the rationale for giving such and such an advice. 14. Dear Jon, Sorry about that, the download software hasn't taken into account the Lunar Conversion when it was first released. That module was not implemented into the software at that point. It will be in the later release:) It was a small project which I did for hobby and haven't fine tune or added many other features to it yet. For the time being, to use the software, you need to use the Chinese Calendar information. I forgot to inform the users about that. 16. Dear Nansi, The key to understanding this is based on the following:- Grand Duke does not like to be:- 1. Disturbed. Here one should not do construction work at the location. This includes repairs and renovations. 2. Touched. Here, this would imply that painting is consider `touching' him. So, based on the second point, please don't paint the walls on the East. Therefore, it is safe to do repairs/reno in other parts of the house like W, NW, S, SW, N, S, and NE. 18. Dear Vivian, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'discussion-session' suppressed 'discussion-session' suppressed> Date: Saturday, April 10, 1999 6:53 AM Subject: Re: San Yuan/San He Yes, I know what you are refering to now. What you are refering to is the Triple Combinations that occurs in the Flying Star. I forgot to add that as an option for you. It should be when the base star (or luo shu number for that period) and its combinational influences with the Water Star or Mountain star. As the Flying Star normally is interpreted from Five Element Analysis, there are certain combinations which creates a balance. And when that happens the bad influences that one star has is being countered or converted to another use. When this happens the result is a good influence. So the San He for this case under the Flying Star is a combinations technique which influences the readings of the charts. This can be easily deduced by using the Five Elements on each of the numbers to see how is the relationship. Take note that the combinations normally will produce two types of results, good and bad combinations. Well, it is as hanyu pinyin for the chinese often has four different pronouncation to it, it is not surprising that it can be confusing. Personally, until I clarify it can be difficult for me to guess what you are refering to unless there is only one reference to that topic. Like the San Yuan. However, the San He, has many interpretations which was why I wasn't able to pin point which concept you are refering to. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  19. Dear Julie, Please accept my apologies as I realised that I had wrongly quoted the directions to avoid for renovations. I guess, I was too sleep. Sorry! Therefore, please ignore all earlier references on the wrong directions given. The correct information should be as follows:- =================================== For this year, avoid doing renovations ONLY in the EAST = 90 degrees (Grand Duke and 3 killings location). For next year, avoid doing renovations at TWO locations::- ============================================= 1.South = 180 degrees (3 killings) and 2. East- South-East = 112.5 degress (position of Grand Duke) Once again, please accept my apologies. Avoid painting only the room in the East. For S, SW, N and NW this is ok. No problem. As clarified, this year you need not worry so long as it is not at the East. No problem. Do proceed. Yes, it is indeed beter to face North. The concept of the Grand Duke is that not to face him. Sitting at the East Sector is not considered this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vivian, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'discussion-session' suppressed 'discussion-session' suppressed> Date: Friday, April 09, 1999 6:48 AM Subject: San Yuan/San He I believe the San Yuan you are refering to is Three Period, right? If it is, then San Yuan is actually talking about the Sexagenary Cycle's Three 60-year period, the Upper Period, Middle Period, and Lower Period. As for your San He, can you further specify if you are refering to the San He when translated to English Characters by Mountain & River, or Three River or even possibly the Luo He (River Tortise) under this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/tortise.htm? Sorry, sometimes the hanyu pinyin can be a little hard to guess what you are refering to. As for the San Yuan, it is from the San Yuan period that you deduce the base star for the Xuan Kong. But San Yuan by itself does not mean Xuan Kong Fei Xing. It is just a Cycle showing the breakdown of the periods which is used for determining the Flying Star number.
  21. Dear Toni, Please see below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Friday, April 09, 1999 2:32 PM Subject: Re: stove next to fridge?? Since the stove is in the south, this is acceptable because at the south position, the stove is able to `retain' the heat as it is at it's most comfortable location i.e. South. Normally, if the stove is at the South position, you can have the stove face a water element e.g. a frige. This is because a stove at the south can still be `cooled' down by the water element opposite it. Contrast this if you place a stove e.g. in the North sector. Here, you must not let the stove face a water element else the `warmth' will `die off'. In your case, the `heat' can still escape and you will not have a problem. But do not "purposely" add a water position in front of it as it may offset this `delicate' balance. Yes, the microwave is not considered a fire element and it is no problem placing on top of the fridge. Cecil
  22. Dear Eve, Traditional Feng Shui did not mention anything about the fridge as it was not invented yet. However, the number of fridge is not important as it does not provide warmth and effectively is `self-contained' box. Unlike the stove which is considered the `heart' of the kitchen, frige or a number of them are not that crucial. The only thing crucial here is that it must not be next to a `fire' element or if so, provide at least 6 inches or 130 cm distance. 23. Dear Nansi, This is based on the Grand Duke Theory where for this year, one should not offend the Grand Duke of Jupiter by not doing renovation at the East direction. The Grand Duke or Tai Su `will' be offended if one e.g. digs earth or do renovations at this direction as it will disturb him. Unfortunately, the effects can be `long lasting' as it may extend to a few years. So far, frankly, this is the warning but no acceptable cures are available. As mentioned earlier, for some Chinese, they may consider `praying' for forgiveness to the Tai Su or Grand Duke of Jupiter. Other than this, I really do not know what to do also. Because, many who are aware of this, remember about this and try not to offend him. As far as I am also aware, many books will also provide such a warning but I have yet ot come across a reliable remedy for this. Really sorry about it. 24. Dear Toni, I believe there are two schools of thought in considering a microwave oven:- 1. One school of thought is that microwave ovens were never invented in ancient times and some Feng Shui practioners may argue that since this is the case, there is no standard way to say whether it is good or bad Feng Shui. This camp will usually be not sure and can either give you a Yes or No answer. 2. The second school of thought is that a stove is different from a microwave. Under the Five Elements concept, the characteristic of a stove is that the fire flows upwards and thus this is considered a `Fire element'. However, if you are only using the microwave, it implies energy that `flows' inwards which has the characteristics of the metal element. Therefore if you are only using the microwave and not the `oven' feature, then in this case, it no longer represents the fire element. Currently, it is my belief that the microwave represents the `metal' element and not fire element which has no effect on the water element unless you use the `oven' feature. In such a case, there is no longer a clash of Water and Fire element or a clash of yin and yang. As I mentioned earlier, the microwave is new and in my opinion, I will classify the microwave as belonging to the metal element based on the reasoning in para 2. In such a situation, there is no effect of the microwave on top of the water element i.e. the fridge. However, can I ask you a question? Which direction is the microwave located and whether do you have a stove? 1. If you have only the microwave in the home, this is not favourable in Feng Shui as one should ideally also have a stove in the kitchen to represent the fire element. 2. If you only have the microwave and if it situated at the North sector of the home, this is equally unacceptable as the North represents water element and worse still if you do not have a stove, your kitchen is considered `cold' and thus you most unlikely can retain the warmth in your home. 3. It is acceptable to have a stove and a microwave in the home. But remember not to have two set of stoves in the home. This is considered very inauspicious. Like I mentioned, earlier, a microwave is a modern `invention' and based on it's characteristics of energy moving `inwards', it can be classifed as a metal element. If you are using the oven feature, then the heating element will (glow... unseen inside the microwave) and it is considered a Fire element. If you are using it more often as a fire element, then, it is best not to place the `oven' on top of the fridge as this is a real clash and very inauspicious. Hope that helps.
