Dear Anon, 1. A mountain star should not be activated in the centre of a room. A certain of a room should have clear space. 2. A mountain star cannot apply as and when we want it to. It has to be `found' and if there is a mountain star applied under certain conditions such as: - A backdoor or in a room. 3. No a ceiling fan (moving blades) even with a external decorative cover at the middle (with the magnetic coils) at the centre cannot be considered a mountain star. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Under symbolism, a `live' crab shape is auspicious because, it is alive i.e. vibrant and active. While a dead crab (fried or steamed) ie. turned Red, is already dead or no more `activity.' Warmest Regards, Cecil

I happen to come across this article `interesting' as it touch on Shapes and Form Feng Shui about Singapore:- At times, I found this article to be quite `humours':) Please note that this site is `opposed' to the present leadership in Singapore. I am not sure, if some of the information is totally reliable. Caution aside, please read on... http://www.gn.apc.org/sfd/Link%20Pages/Link%20Folders/Other/fengshui.html Source: Written by Jonathan Tan for SFD. Jonathan is average height and has black hair and dark brown eyes. He's a second-year student at NUS. Jonathan is his pen-name of course.} Warmest Regards, Cecil

Contrary to the notion that a house / office or shop are `bad'... In my opinion, this type of house / office / shop at a `T-junction' (under Shapes and Form) may not necessary have bad Feng Shui if there is a one lane traffic flowing away from the frontage of the house. Please see below:- We should still remember to do an audit to ensure that the main entrance door is `protected' from other poison arrows e.g. sharp edge of another building etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In my opinion, one should classify this under a `belief' rather than Feng Shui. (Thus one must be clear between the distinction of Feng Shui and `beliefs'.) Since it is a belief, it is up to the individual to `belief' it can (or cannot) work for the person. To me, there is no harm to place three coins in the account book if one reallys wants to. If I were to say that one must use a gold gilt edge accounts book, do you want to belief what I say. Again, this is a belief as it cannot relate to the five elements. Perhaps, with all the `glitter', when one opens that page, it makes the specific area `bright'. Again, each of us, can only decide for ones-self:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Yes, N1 and S1 charts are nearly identical. With the exception that their Water & Mountain Stars are flipped as shown here:- N1 PERIOD 9 CHART For example North is 8 1 S1 PERIOD 9 CHART While S1, North is flipped as 1 8 instead This is simply the nature of Flying Star charts. Thus a N2 and S2 will share similar traits etc.... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carrie, 1. On this site, the interpretation is inside my course materials on Flying Star, but currently as I mentioned in a few postings that, I prefer to work on it further as I am not fully satisfied with the course materials. 2. Currently, the Flying Star Report available under www.geomancy-online.com fully meets the requirements and is exhaustive in analysing all three components: Water, Mountain and Base stars for each sector. And giving advise when needed for imbalances within each sector and also providing advise on the element required. 3. So far, I have only seen others who only manage to just generate the charts but lack fully in the above analysis. 4. There is one book, Lillian Too's Chinese Numerology. In my opinion, there are some errors and majority of the time, these are again charts `generated' but lacking in analysis. On our end, we have already done away with manual analysis, thus freeing our time to concentrate on the `finer' details i.e. to provide further assistance and interpretation. I am not going to interpret manually what 653 is etc... or resulting in whether there is a balance or not. I feel such time, should be spent more productively at my end. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Elena, This is an illustration of a `Four combination house' which comprises two Sets of `Two houses' which are out of balance:- Please see below:- Yes, you are correct. One cannot place a water feature on a public road in front of such houses. Thus, this is overall considered a `bad layout'. To lessen the blow, it is utmost important for the main door to be `protected'. Another method is to place a water feature (if there is sufficient space in the frontage of each house to balance the house. This should reduce the `impact' for a specific house but not for it's neighbours unless they do the same. Another method most commonly used is to use the Ba Gua mirror (IF) the main door or a window is left `unprotected'. As you mentioned, if possible, avoid buying such a house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Dylan, 1. For females, whether the child birth is `easy' or `difficult' birth. 2. For determing the number of children, it is based on several factors, and analysed/compared to the male person's chart. 3. Nowadays, less importance is placed on this area as there is a great leap in medical enhancement e.g. artificial inception etc.. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Dylan, Please see below:- Being earth, becomes more a supporting strength. But does not take into consideration based on the strength of the element. In Spring, Wood is strongest. Thus in Spring, it destroys `earth'. Thus weaking earth element. Glad that you enjoyed the website:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Dylan, 1. The main purpose of the new report with 6 pillars is because, the two houses: Houses of conception and life are important elements in each of our Pillars of Destiny. Why a `6 pillars report' instead of 4 pillars? 2. In the past, there were more than 6 pillars. There were reports with 8 pillars. However, 8 pillars reports are no longer popular because the other two pillars relate to Yin or the dead. 3. Chances of analysing triple combination clashes are nearly non-existent with only 4 pillars. Where else, with 6 pillars (with 12 combinations of branches/stems) the likelyhood of finding out the triple combinations. 4. One's element may change from weak to strong or strong to weak with the addition of the 6 pillars. This is a more accurate analysis. The above is thus a brief summary of the main differences between the two. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Yes, one should stand at the centre-point of the house facing the main door to take a reading. No, based on all readings used for inputs in this website we use the method as mentioned under the link http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm Yes, this is the method used here. ---- On a different subject --- If one uses the Luopan, a different method is adopted. But as mentioned in a few messages, most readers can easily get hold an ordinary compass thus, this is the principal method, used in this website. Since we are using the ordinary compass, all the `information' and instructions on how to read, and input the figures in this site are based on this `method'. If you follow other methods, please follow the particular author's method, TOTALLY, from start to end. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. The 6 coins (is used) inconjunction with the Flying Star analysis to cure strong earth. The above is based on an imbalance of the Five Elements at a specific sector. 2. As for `finance' problems since there is no link with it and the Five Elements, I am not sure how you come about to `deduce' that it can `cure' finance problems. Any insights on this. Thanks. Warmest Regards Cecil

Dear Anon, It should not pose a problem for a fish tank to be directly opposite the main door. However, do check that it is not at the centrepoint of the house. Thanks. Cecil

Dear T Wong, Please see below: Imagine this: if the ceiling above you is flat, then there is no `beam'. If the ceiling above has a supporting beam to support the structure of the above unit/floor than, it is a beam. Under Feng Shui, even if there is a ceiling beam but if it is fully covered under a false ceiling, this no longer becomes a `threat.' Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carrie, 1. If one uses the ordinary compass, one should not be concerned about `holding' the compass at the North or South. What one needs to do is to take a compass reading from the centre-point of the house towards the main door. One should thus take the compass reading from the compass. 2. Your confusion will arise only if one uses the Chinese Luopan i.e. the compass needle is marked `from South to North' i.e. completely reversed from the ordinary compass. So the question asked is are you using a Chinese Luopan? 1. If no, there is no longer an issue here. 2. If you are using a Chinese Luopan, make sure you know how to use it first. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, The angle of influence under the Flying Star is similar to the illustration below for the Eight House Theory:- Ref: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house2.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please check out this page: http://www.geomancy.net/slideshow/6coins.htm In the above, a `simple' 6 coins arranged in two rows x 3 coins is scotched tape onto a red envelope and placed on the curtain (mid-point of the window. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Whenever you have three houses facing each other, it is best to balance this with a third house or a water position. 2. The Plus Equilbrium ensures that four houses are always facing each other or three houses and a water position forms a `PLUS' sign. This is considered an auspicious layout. Here goes:

Dear Anon, To find out how to get a proper compass reading, please go refer to this page: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm The above material with animated gif should help you to properly determine the direction of your main door using an ordinary compass. Please see below:- Do try to determine the direction of the main door first. As there are many levels of Feng Shui analysis, if you are facing problems, you may consider using the more powerful Flying Star analysis to check if the house is in balance. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nancy, 1. I have looked thru the photo & layout you sent to my email account. 2. Overall, your plot of land is not an ideal shape. Units 5402 and 5401 are at a `T' junction and for these two units at the end of the road, preferably the main doors should not be in direct alignment to the road. Your home and the opposite house (5408) plus units 5402 and 5401 are in a configuration "close to" the Yang Zhai Shi Shu where three houses `meet'. This is considered a `bad' layout (not "fatal" but bad) in that it signifies `family will not be rich'. 3. The above is based on a three house layout. But with the four house layout, it looks similar to the above. Hopefully, it would not be the same. 4. I have seen the picture of your frontage of the house. It pose no problems as the main door is well `hidden' from any poison arrows. Please see below:- Yes, do start slow with Feng Shui. Nothing could be worse than doing all the wrong things or spending unnecessary money and this may not bear fruit. It would not be advisable to place a wind chime unless, you personally liked it and not becaues of Feng Shui justification. With your `four house' configuration, more care should be placed in using the wrong Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nancy, Grateful if you can click on the " Conference for Attaching Layout " and post your attachment there as this conference does not allow for any attachments. Thanks. Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. It depends on the shape of the house and at which `angle' the compass direction is in relation to the house. 2. One should thus where possible see which sector the compass degree falls and the `angle of influence' of each sector. 3. If one is not too sure, avoid placing the cure or place it `directly' at the compass direction (degree indicated). At least, here chances are you will not `overlapp' by placing another cure close to it. Warmest Regards, Ceciil

Dear Anon, Yes, I agree with you. It is quite true that the traditional Chinese cuisine does not include turkey. More commonly, the Chinese rear goose, ducks and chickens. Perphaps, the turkey was less well known thus not popular with the Chinese. (My personal guess). I believe, the turkey is less well known and personally, the meat is coarse as compared to those of other smaller birds. Warmest Regards, Cecil
