  1. Dear Jeanette, 1. It is good to understand that, as a guide, a missing corner should be one where there is a 33.3 percent missing `area' in a specific sector. Here, the home is sub-divided in 9 equal divisions or a 3 x 3 grid. 2. It is good to examine, whether it is really a missing corner or a protrusion. As different `treatment'/intrepretation is used. 3. If there is a missing corner in the home and the house is a: 3.1 Landed property If it is a landed property, an outline of the `missing area' or boundary can be created outside the house. A top-view will then show that the missing area has been outlined by a boundary. The boundary can be shrubs, fencing or layout on the grass / concrete floor. One can also place pots of plants to form the `missing' outline. 3.2 An apartment/flat/condominium house One way is to install mirrors on the wall(s) to negate the `missing' corners. Some FS practitioners recommend; the placement of a wind chime. However, this should be done with care (after proper assessment). Else, one may use trial and error FS. Otherwise, there are fewer remedies for this. As for "family side" or "creativity side", this is not widely used in Traditional FS. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Some FS practitioners, asked their clients to hang wind chimes outside their entrance door, this year. A windchime (or subject to more detailed site analysis) can be hung at bad `yellow' earth sector i.e. the sector with bad earth #5 this year. However, as this is quite general; it should normally be looked at in relation to the 20 year Flying Star of the year. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Suzi, Appreciate if you can elaborate more about the `pooja ghar'. Is it a figurine/statue. And what signficance / does it represent. Regards, Cecil
  4. I have visited the site below and is equally horrified by the cruelty to these poor cats! -------- Start of message ----- Subject: Please save the Bonsai Cat Subject: Pls sign to stop : Bonsai Kittens Date: Wed, 04 Jul 2001 22:30:13 +0800 If only those people will spare a thought for these poor cats. Imagine what if we are the one being kept in those bottle? Sighz ...... To anyone with love and respect for life: (I don't know how people can be so warped to do a thing like this and act as if it is a normal treatment of animals) In New York there is a Japanese who sells "bonsai-kittens". Sounds like fun huh? NOT! These animals are squeezed into a bottle. Their urine and faeces are removed through probes. They feed them with a kind of tube. They feed them chemicals to keep their bones soft and flexible so the kittens grow into the shape of the bottle. The animals will stay their as long as they live. They can't walk or move or wash themselves. Bonsai-kittens are becoming a fashion in New York and Asia. See this horror at: http://www.bonsaikitten.com. 6. The purpose of bringing up this (unverified) story is that, it is always good to check on the `past' history of the place you are intending to buy especially if it is for sale at a very (very) attractive price. One way is that we could perhaps check with the neighbours .... ------ Some comments -------- Don't know how true this story is!!!! Scary! ----- Extract of unknown article ----- I still remember when my office phone rang, my wife was on the line saying that she spotted a maisonette (a two level flat/apartment) in The Strait Time and it was in Jurong West Street 42 Block 547, Singapore and the price was attractive!!. So we arranged a viewing with the agent and bought it on the spot!. A little bit of history I'm going to mentioned so that if you came across similar case do consider carefully. When we viewed the flat, we found that it was renovated extensively and we were told that the owner only stayed for a short while and moved out. When their rented shop unit from HDB arrived, they move to stayed upstairs the unit. Indeed, we did found that it was true when we went over to the shop to placed a deposit and signed the sale & purchase agreement. But we found out later that the owner had the shop all along and they moved out for some reasons. As the owner had bought the flats from Housing and Development Board (a statutory board that provides housing for majority of Singaporeans) direct, they can't sell the flat yet(5 yrs rule) so they moved out to a rented flat and later rented a shop unit. I came to know from neighbours later and that more that 10 families had came & went during these time. So please checked with the surrounding neighbours before you purchased a flat which now I learn. Ok! Now I will listed all the incidences happened during my two and the half years there. 1) As you know, maisonette go two levels, all the rooms are upstair. As I was watching TV in the hall, I used to see several times a black shadow darting at the stairs. 2) One night after watching TV alone, I think it was about 2.00am and I was walking past the stairs to go upstairs to sleep, I heard a voice(very clear) calling me "Papa!" once and instinctively I turn my head to my left where the voice came from. My whole body went cold when there was nothing there at all!. My wife and only daughter were sleeping soundly upstair. 3) It was in the afternoon, my wife was washing her hair in the toilet upstairs. As she was sitting on the stool bending forward holding the shower above her head washing her hair. Suddenly, she felt that someone gave her a hard push above her head. She unable to see that time coz her eyes was covered with shampoo. Then immediately, she open her eyes and call out to my daughter. She found that my daughter was indeed downstairs playing in the hall all the time. 4) It was when a new neighbour moved in next door and when they came over to get to know us. My wife was at the gate chatting with them. And my daughter and I was watching TV in the hall. The next evening after dinner in the hawker centre, we met them in the lift. Then, during our conversation, they mentioned, "Where is your boy?" We told them that we only got a daughter but they insisted that they saw themself, my daughter in the hall watching TV and there was a boy at the staircase playing and he was about 5 yrs old!!. Both husband & wife saw that!. 5) There was one evening at about 10.00pm. I was having my bath upstairs then when I turn to face the wall behind me, I got a shocked!! There was a transparent figure like a human (don't know gal or guy) moved from one wall to another!. I was shaking like a leave and naturally used the hot shower spray and spray to that direction. Nothing happen at all so I quickly rushed out. 6) This last one is the final straw we able to take before we moved out to our private apartment which happened the tenancy just expires.(Please note: can only sell after two & the half years for resale flat due to HDB restriction on home speculation). I forgot to mentioned that all this time during the night when we are sleeping in our locked master bedroom, we always heard noises like someone twisting our room handle and trying to open the door. I did checked many times to no avail. Ok!...One evening after watching TV, we all went upstairs to sleep. As we entered our master bedroom, I wanted to switch on the TV in the room to continue watching the program. We all got a shock! There was a pair of deep lighted shinning blue eyes on the TV screen. The TV was not even switch on!!. Just to make sure is not a fault, I even pull out the plug from the socket!!. The pair of eyes was still there!!. So all of us rush to the second guestroom and locked ourselves inside. Both my wife and daughter are crying like shit. I was also shivering but had to put up a brave front. While they fallen asleep later, I stayed up till morning. Guess what?....We moved that morning!!. This is a true incidences witness by three of us! Take care when hunting for a home.
  7. Dear Sonia, I took quite sometime to reply to your mail because, with the limited information, that you have provided below; it is difficult to `pin-point' your problems. An `L' shaped house need not be all too bad. In fact, if one is using Feng Shui, there are many types of analysis. What you have mentioned is focused only on a specific sector and in the interior of the house. Please see below:- If you have a bathroom door between your bed, one can place a side table and a table lamp on top of it. Under Feng Shui, it symbolises a `partition' between the two. If you feel uncomfortable with the two mirrors facing each other, a `cheap' alterative is to place a opague film or even some nice posters on each of or one of the mirrors. For marriage and other factors, if one is using Feng Shui or Chinese divinity methods, a holistic way is to apply many of the FS / Chinese divinity methods. As mentioned in other forum messages, the level of use of FS depends on each individual. Some of us would like to go `deeper' or some of us, just stop at the basic Feng Shui and use our `sixth sense'. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Deidre, If your daughter is frequently getting injured or sickness, most likely if a Flying Star chart is done, there should usually be bad #numbers such as #2 or #5 in your daughter's bedroom. Please see below:- Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Ali, Under one of my websites http://www.lovesigns.net - In the above site, you can find that a Rooster is characterised as:- Overview of a Rooster:- Roosters have keen sense of observation and likes to be noticed and flattered. It is not easy to fool a Rooster and they make good trouble shooters. They are conscious of their appearance and what they wear. What's good? Funny, witty, brave, enthusiastic, efficient and honest. A Rooster person is very intelligent, a good thinker and has an excellent memory, alert and organised. They are intelligent, entertaining and strong willed but generous to friends. Roosters are clever at finance, confident and an outstanding performer. They make great hosts and enjoys entertainment. They always keep their promises. What's bad? Roosters are boastful, easily critical and have their strong opinions. They are Notoriously picky and easily misunderstood. Paring best avoided with Rooster:- Rabbit, Dog and another Rooster partner One can also find out more about the Rabbit at the site.. However, finding out and `learning' about these `traits' may lead to `auto-suggestion'. If one continues to find out more of one's characteristics - described above, it may perhaps end up with a person adopting some of the characteristics. On the first page of http://www.lovesigns.net , I have this quotation: "The nature of love is one of the great mysteries of life. One way you can improve your relationship and love life by understanding one another's personality." Alternatively, if one believes the characteristics of say a Rooster or a Rabbit, one can perhaps understand each other's characteristics and one's own characteristics better. The above is based on basic Chinese Astrology as it only takes into account a person's year of birth. In fact, I believe there are many couples with excellent marriage lifes even if the Astrology says that they are `incompatible'. Try to make best use of your situation for a win-win situation for both of you. And since we are on this earth for a limited time, have more fun, happiness, trust and respect for each other. Equally important is a good listening ear. Warmest Regards Cecil
  10. Dear Alice, A windchime can be used without an attached crystal. A windchime can be used especially if it is used against a bad earth element i.e. #5 or bad earth / bad yellow. A windchime (especially if it metallic) can help to reduce the impact of the #5. If the porch falls under the influence of #5, then it can be used there. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Anon, 1. In general, it is best to determine which location is the kitchen in? 1.1 If the kitchen is located at the South (compass direction); then overall, a stove/cooker is able to face a water position. The consideration here is that South = Fire element and a stove/cooker can face a water position (to cool down the `south' / fire sector). 1.2 But if the kitchen is at the North (compass direction): then it is advisable as the Feng Shui book suggest; not to let the stove/cooker face the water position. Here, since North = water (the fire of the stove/cooker can easily be `extinguished'. For other sectors, in my opinion, if there is not much choice, Para 1.1 can still hold here. If there is really not much you can do, then close the toilet door when not in use. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Alice, I must sincerely apologise as I am unable to provide advice based on *Black Hat Sect* type of questions relating to "illumination bagua" or "wind bagua". If you have a sketch of the specific room, I can take alook based on Shapes and Form theory to see if it is optimized for the above. Otherwise, I am really not much use in " Black Hat Sect aka... type of modern ideas. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Arthur, 1. In order to know which cure to use it is very important to determine whether a person is a weak or strong earth. 2. Geomancy.Net's calculation takes into account 4 main pillars (day, month, year and hour) plus House of Life and House of conception to determine your final element. 3. Here, based on how your elements combinations and clashes the proportion and changes in strength for the elements will affect whether you are a weak or strong earth person. 4. If you have used the Pillars of Destiny v8 and above to determine that you are a strong earth, then you are strong earth, as it takes into account many factors before coming to that conclusion. 5. For weak earth person:- FIre and Earth are used to strengthen it. For strong earth person:- Metal - exhaust strong earth Wood - destroy strong earth Water - destroy fire which is the production element for strong earth. This happens also to be Strong Earth's wealth element. 6. Therefore, a cure or enhancement is different for a person who is `weak' or `strong'. 7. These are three ways to help reduce strong earth. However, depending on your current situation. You can use a combination of these elements. 8. A strong earth is usually made up of either lots of Fire / Earth or both. So usually the way to cure it is to reduce the Fire or Earth directly. 9. So usually the recommended cures are Metal being the strongest way to reduce Earth directly, Wood to destroy earth (but in the process it also creates Fire, so this is considered a double edged cure). Water (indirect cure which attacks the Fire which produces Earth, and also it is a wealth provider for Earth). Frankly, it is not advisable just to know one's element e.g. earth. But as you can see from the above explanation; there can be lots of difference when applying cures or enhancements for either a weak or strong earth person. Warmest Regards Cecil
  14. Dear Phyu Phyu, Based on your description, it looks like if your house is much higher than the back, usually it is not affected by the dead end. In addition if you have bushes inbetween the house and the dead end. With `proper care' of the slope to avoid soil erosion is ideal. In my opinion, you need not do anything at this stage. However, if there are sufficient lighting (external) this would be great. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Rosaline, Under Flying Star, one should look at the interaction of the #mountain / #water and base # for each sector. :"Depends on Star 5 and Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Sandy, I am not sure if you have any contraints i.e. rented room where you may not have sufficient storage area. In my opinion, it is always best to see if you can explore any possibility of stacking the boxes e.g. in a cupboard or ar a corner rather than placing it below your bed. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Rosie, Perhaps you can generate a Free Flying Star report. Most probably, there is an influence of sickness star #2 or even #5 within the sector of your son's bedroom. A metal cure depending on the level of imbalance at the sector could be used if the above analysis is correct. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Evelyn, With the little information provided, it is difficult for me to give you proper advise. Usually, if one practises or applies sector Feng Shui; may have to use personal feelings i.e. not because; of `Feng Shui' related reasons but simply because one `fell in love' with an object of decoration e.g. metal windchime and wants to place it. Here, one may have to use personal feelings to see where it can be placed in the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Anon, Please see below:- My advise is that if (one really wants to hang a windchime) it would be better to hang a 6 rod (hollow) wind chime instead of 5 rods wind chime. Symbolically 5 rods could invariably; represent "bad earth #5 element). A six rod windchime symbollically represents 6 metal or `Big metal'. You could hang the wind chime 1/2 feet away from the door. In my opinion, it would not be advisable to place an altar facing the main door. Or exactly facing the main door. The rationale is that it may be considered `disrespectful' as this may imply that the altar `gods' are tasked to look after the home. Much like a `security' guard. It would be advisable instead to move the altar (away) from or directly facing the main door. Since the wind chime is outside the house, it would not have a major impact on the altar (if u continue to place it there). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Michelle, In my opinion, it is always (first choice) to place the bed based on good Shapes and Form Feng Shui. 1. Whenever one can, the bed should be on the opposite wall of the bedroom door. 2. If possible, it should lean against a wall. 3. If there are windows on the side of the bed; one should preferably leave a gap (or walking area) between the bed and the window. I am not too clear, about the position of the closet door you mentioned below. But you can `treat' it as a wardrope. Where there should be a gap (walking / movement) area between this location. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Barbara, I believe many of us are in the same situation as yours "exactly opposites". What is more important is to: 1. Understand the purpose / objective of each concept and what is can or cannot do. For example, under the Eight House Theory:- 1.1. It can be used in general to find out how suitable a house is to the "breadwinner." 1.2. Other than this, there is not much one can do; if e.g. North = death or health. If the bed is located here; perhaps, you can sleep closer to the North while your husband sleeps further away from the North direction. (He can be `shielded' by you). 2. The depth of application of Traditional Feng Shui depends on your level of participation or non-participation. 3. For those who are interested in-depth Feng Shui could perhaps look at the following:- 3.1 Pillars of Destiny Knowing one's element and strength. For example not only whether one is earth or fire but i.e. either strong or weak element. Here, there are three uses of this concept: - With knowledge of your element and strength and spouse or family members one can find out the `binding' element. This binding element e.g. can be used to plan for the interior design of the bedroom or other locations family members spent time together. For example, if the binding element is `metal' for both of you, then, you can work towards eg. the type of colour of the walls / furniture in the room and in the living/dining room. - Your element and strength can then be related to the current season. For example, if the current `Luck period' is dominated by earth element and if you are already a strong earth person, then, it would be good to add metal in the present period. Flying Star Here, the birth chart of the house can be analysed to the lowest common denominator i.e. 5 elements. Each sector can be looked at: is this sector currently out of balanced? If so, a cure can be used here. 4. The above are some of the concepts that are used in Traditional Feng Shui. As I mentioned, it is entirely up to an individual to either want to look into the use of the above or do not want to go into these concepts. 5. Overall, in my opinion, one may still get away with all the points mentioned above; especially if the home has - namely have excellent Shapes and Forms. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Anon, Please accept my condolences. I believe many of us share your grief and understand what you are going thru. Life has to basically go on in his memory. Hope that you can continue to enrich your life and make him proud. Life is also a yo-yo and there are ups and downs. Certain aspects of Feng Shui can help to reduce deaths due to `accidents/disasters' but if it due to the process of old age, all of us are not immune to it. I am really short for words at this moment but..Do take care of your health! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Jessia, Under the Eight House theory, there is not much one can do on this matter. Whenever, one spents time at.. However, it is best to take the view that the position of the table / chair should try to conform to Shapes and Form Feng Shui. And avoid any poison arrows `aimed' at it or sitting under a beam. Other considerations depending on your level of `application of' Feng Shui may include checking the sector for any imbalances using Flying Star and correcting it if any. This depends on whether you just want to use the basic " Eight house " or Shapes and Forms. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Thanh, 1. Based on the Compass School method of Feng Shui, it is best to avoid (especially the toilet bowl - sewerage pipes) located exactly at `defined positions'. 2. Under Eight House theory: it is best not to have the toilet bowl at true compass directions i.e. North 0 degrees, NE 45 degrees, East 90 degrees, SE 135 degrees etc.. 3. The rationale here is that should one of these sectors is a good sector, this may not be auspicious. 4. If we go `deeper' using the Flying Star analysis; then; it is best to avoid having it at 15 degree intervals e.g. 0 degrees, 15 degrees, 30 degrees, 45 degrees etc... 5. I personally feel that using a small round mirror (may not be effective). The rationale is that such a small mirror cannot be considered effective. 6. To use a larger mirror may involve more detailed analysis: it is considered bad if the particular sector is inauspicious as one may bounce back twice the bad luck. 7. If not sure, try not to do anything with mirrors etc... 8. Presently, it would be nice to have one of the external walls sharing an external wall i.e. implying that the toilet is not at the centrepoint of the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Lori, In the Chinese zodiac sign; rooster is the 10th animal in it. The significance is that it is highly regarded. Symbollically, a rooster (with red mane) coming into a home signifies that it is a `protector' of "fire". Warmest Regards, Cecil
