  1. Dear Kuah Huang, You can check out this url:- http://my.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/imagefolio.cgi?direct=Feng_Shui_Cures/6_coins In Feng Shui cures, the best remedy is to use 6 ancient Chinese coins with square holes in the center. The 6 coins are tied with a red string. It is usually hung on top of the wall or on the curtain as shown in the picture. For the picture, Singapore $1 coins can be used and placed side-by-side in a 3x2 row on a red packet. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  4. Dear Kewpie, You can look at the auspicious date reports as it is very useful in helping to select good dates: url: www.geomancy-online.com For moving into a new house, I have posted some information under the topic: Chinese Culture (General). Try to locate the information in that forum or do a SEARCH such as " sugar "; " rice "; " moving ". Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Durelle, For a North 0/360 house under period 6: 20 Year Flying Star Chart for the North sector:- 5 7 2 Yearly star for the North Sector 5 2 For this sector: "Make use of Wood to destroy and control Earth" In general, for the interest of those who are not familiar with Flying Star: #5 (Bad Earth) represents Misfortune, Sickness while #2 (Bad Earth) represents Sickness. Based on the preliminary finding under Flying Star, indeed the North sector of the house is not inauspicious. In practise, one should also consider and neutralise imbalances of all other sectors. Equally important, is that the house must also suit the home owner plus it has also to be analysed in relation to the Shapes and Form. I roughly looked through other sectors such as North-East, West, East, South-West, South-East, needs correction to neutralise the imbalances of the birth chart of the house. If you want, you can email Robert-lee@geomancy.net to allow you to generate a Free "paid Flying Star" report. Currently, we unable to take in any more help as each of us are helping 5 cases each which involves `severe' cases and would like to pay attention to help such users who had approached us first. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Susan, In Chinese culture, many traditional buildings have e.g. lions guarding the main entrance or other `fierce' creatures placed e.g. on a building. Thus, in my opinion, the "Gargoyles" that you had mentioned, served a similar purpose in some `western' buildings. For the Chinese, it is quite common to find a pair of dragons or a dragon "guarding" each side of the roof. However, this is usually found on temple roofs only. Most homes do not use such figurines. In Feng Shui, if it is a `public' building e.g. Chinese Chamber of Commerce Building or other public buildings that has a traditional touch, would usually place two lions on each side of the main entrance. 7. Dear Elena, No, many FS practitioners would not consider this a change of `birth chart'. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Anon, You can check out this page: www.geomancy.net/fs/colours.htm It will show the colour for the specific element and also, how colour is associated with Chinese customs. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Rasika, 1. It is best to follow the `method' provided (totally) from a source and not mix e.g. what one reads from a book and `mix' the methods used in other book or website. 2. For example, in this website, the method used is to follow step-by-step instructions under: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm or use the free computerised Eight House report. In this website, you get a graphical diagram showing all the eight kua directions and each person's intangible force at e.g. North, South, East, West, NE, NW, SE, SW. Based on this website, you should find the centrepoint of the house and use an ordinary compass. Instructions are at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm 3. It is never wise to read up half a book, and then follow instructions from another book or site. If traditional FS methods are followed, and if one follows the instructions FULLY in a book or website, you should get the same result. 10. Dear Melanie, In my opinion, there is really not much one can do in such a situation. Usually, (but may not be feasible) in your case is the use of false ceiling or a poster bed with cloth covers over the top of the bed. Since this option may not be available, hanging a crystal, may make one `feel good' but thats all it can do. In traditional FS, besides this situation, one uses e.g. the Flying Star to analyse and if there are any imbalances, neutralise it to lessen any effects in the sector. 11. Dear Rasika, Under the Compass School of Feng Shui, 1. Eight House Theory: Under this theory, it is good for a breadwinner to have a good orientation of the main door (suited) to him/her. For a building, the best choice is to have it sited in a good site and enjoy firstly good shapes and form. This will be advantages to everyone occupying the building. 2. Flying Star Theory. The direction of the main entrance door will determine the `birth chart' of the house i.e. the birth chart of the house/building is determined based on its main door direction. 3. Thus, if one uses the ordinary compass to take a reading, it should be taken from the centrepoint of the house/building. And not whether one is standing at the main entrance looking out or looking in. (If one uses the Chinese Luopan, I consider this another method, and one should base on the instructions for this). 4. Overall, this site uses the ordinary compass so that it will be widely understood by everyone all over the world who do not have a Chinese Luopan nor know how to use it. 12. Look closely at this picture. Can you see it?
  13. Some of us are familiar with the term "K.I.S.S." applied in other areas. K.I.S.S. refers to " Keep it Simple Stupid ". It is worth remembering that the essence of the above sentence can equally be applied effectively to Feng Shui. After all, it is commonsense and many Feng Shui concepts, theories and ideas are borne out of commonsense. Say "K.I.S.S." the next time:) Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. I sent you all my " KISSes ":))
  14. Dear Susan, It is quite common for the husband and wife to have "opposite" houses or kua under the Eight House Theory. Under the Eight House Theory, do look out for:- 1. How suitable the house is to the breadwinner i.e. one's kua or intangible force at the main entrance. 2. The Eight House relates to how much time we spent at a sector of the house. Thus it would be useful to know what is the intangible force for the spouse and husband in the bedroom. Where possible, let the person who beneifits most sleep closer to the intangible force. While the person who does not have a good influence sleep further away from that sector. (A good bonus is if one sleeps e.g. with the head facing a good direction). 3. Other than the above, in the office, where possible sit facing a good direction. The above, is as much as the Eight House Theory provides. It does not go further than the above. 4. More importantly, is to make sure that e.g the position of the bed conforms FIRSTLY with the Shapes and Form. For example, it is `no point' placing the bed on the same wall as the toilet. But rather, place it in a good Shapes and Form position is MORE important consideration. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Is there a similarity in working `behaviour' between those who are over 40 years old and under 40 years old? *This is for Fun* Hmm... "the clue": We ALL see eye to eye on a WEDNESDAY? Regards, Cecil
  16. A touching story........ One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the Chinese countryside with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people can be. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be = considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the = trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked. "Oh yeah" said the son. "So what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father. The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they had four." "We have = a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that = has no end." "We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at = night." "Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon." "We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go = beyond our sight." "We have servants who serve us, but they serve others." "We buy our food, but they grow theirs." "We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to = protect them." With this the boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are." Too often we forget what we have and concentrate on what we don't have. What is one person's worthless object is another's prize possession? It is all based on one's perspective.
  17. Dear Sean, Under the Eight House Theory, it is good to have a `suitable' front entrance facing one's good side. However, since your home is `mobile' it would suggest that it is quite small. In a small and mobile home, frankly it is quite difficult to apply certain Feng Shui principles. Perhaps, you can let us know what is the size of your mobile home i.e. is it around the size. If the centrepoint of the house is close to all directions, it is best not to `apply' Feng Shui but rather, look at the house interms of the environment i.e. Shapes and Form. One way of looking at the mobile home in relation to the site/land. 18. Dear Pema, In my opinion, it is best to monitor the situation first since it is newly painted. The only best option is to make sure that the interior of the home has sufficent natural lighting (if possible) to create a more Yang environment. Other options include analysing the front entrance door using Flying Star analysis to confirm your `findings'. In situations where there is a `bad wood' or star #3 at the front door: combined with the brown colour representing wood, it may not be good as the brown color would further `enhance' the bad wood #3. This may not be `true' under your circumstances, you may need to take note of it. Warmest Regards, Cecil ----- Original Message ----- From: "experiences Listmanager" To: Sent: Monday, July 31, 2000 7:20 AM Subject: Condo with Dark Brown Front Door ...Help !!
  19. Dear Diane, It would be `nice' if you have a sketch of the front door area to better appreciate the situation. Usually, it may not be all that bad as the front door is `protected' from poison arrows. This is the plus point. However, this is usually considered in relation to the entire house layout such as the entry and exit points of `Qi' e.g. from windows, main entrance to the back area and also to look at the `frontage' of the house. Based on `Feng Shui' by intuition, if all along there is `peace' and harmony in the home for the 140 year old house, the adage is "if it is not broken, don't fix it". But if there is a `history' of problems or a common problems for the house, then one can use Feng Shui such as the Flying Star to analyse the house more closely. 20. Dear Carla, In my opinion, it is never hasty trying to get `started' in Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Sue, Please sent a private email to: robert-lee@geomancy.net. Will provide you with the respective reports free-of-charge. It is comprehensive. But you would need to do it yourself and if have any clarifications, please let us know. Take care! Cecil Lee
  22. Dear Betsie, Do check out this page: http://www.geomancy.net/polls/ And check out this poll: Are you comfortable sleeping facing a TV set (mirror)? A short simple 3 questions survey. I indicated that there is no right or wrong answers to this. Some of us feel perfectly normal with a mirror in the bedroom (e.g. facing the bed) while others may feel uncomfortable. Do check the feedback from other uses on this. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Chin Teck, Yes, the Singapore `six' coins can be used as a `cure'. This links has a picture of six coins stuck on a `red packet' or Hong Bao packet:- http://my.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/imagefolio.cgi?direct=Feng_Shui_Cures/6_coins In the above link, you can see the six coins `scotched' taped on a red packet and placed on the green colored curtains. 6 coins represent `Big metal' and is used to control earth element and to destroy wood. Since you are not sure of what it is used for, I would suggest you do a search in this forum to find out more. The `clue' is that it is used as a `cure' and not something wonderful where one just like it, place it all over the home. It is not meant to be used as a `Fast Food Feng Shui'. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Anon, Frankly, I prefer not to answer this question. If I do, this forum would sound more like a market place than a Traditional Feng Shui forum. Hope you understand. Warmest Regards, Cecil
