He arrived in Singapore in 1917, He studied at Raffles Insttution and later at the Liniversity of Hong Kong, In 1930, he married Gan Choo Neo and they had 8 children, one of whom died in Infancy: During the Second Sino-Japanese War, Lim was active in the Nanyang Federation's resistance activities. On 1 February 1942 Lim and other Chinese community leaders left Singapore for India where they recruited and trained hundreds of secret agents, mainly Malayan Chinese, for the Sino-British guerrilla group, Force 136. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, Lim was active in the Nanyang Federation's resistance activities. On 1 February 1942. Lim and other Chinese community leaders left Singapore for India where they recruited and trained hundreds of secret agents, mainly Malayan Chinese, for the Sino-British guerrilla group, Force 136. The first Force 136 agents were deployed in May 1943 in Operation Gustavus to establish an espionage network in Malaya and Singapore. Lim retumed to Malaya in November 1943. Unfortunately Operation Gustavus failed, Lim was captured on 25 March 1944 and taken to the Kempeitai headquarters for interrogation. He was subsequently imprisoned at the Batu Gajah Gaol in Perak. Despite severe torture, Lim refused to divulge any information. Incarcerated in appalling conditions, he fell ill with dysentery towards the end of May 1944 and died in the early hours on 29 June 1944. He was buried behind the Batu Gajan Gaol compound in an unmarked spot. In December 1945, alter the war ended, Lim's widow travelled with her eldest son Lim Leong Geok to bring her husband's remains back to Singapore. A funeral service was held on 13 January 1946 at City Hall and Lim's remains were brought to MacRitchie Reservoir where he was buried with full military honours. He was posthumously conferred the rank of Major-General by the Chinese Nationalist Govemment. Lim's original grave marker was a simple wooden cross, This was to have been replaced by something grander and permanent from as early as 1948 but funds were not available. In June 1952, the Lim Bo Seng Memorial Committee raised sufficient funds to replace the simple cross with the current concrete structure. On the 10th Anniversary of his death in 1954, a memorial was unveiled at the Esplanade Park to commemorate Lim Bo Seng. -

No longer present! Extinct in Singapore. Man in the street Five-Foot-Way Barbers During the timeframe spanning the 1960s to the 1980s, it was common to find outdoor barbers working on five-foot walkways. The majority of these barbers operated independently, with only occasional partnerships between two individuals. Barber's most expensive investment is their typical barber chair. -

Mr Mamak @ Broadway, 155 Bukit Batok $3.20 for 1 piece of egg prata and 1 plain. Pratas are average. However, the curry gravy (fish version) is tangy. Goes well with the pratas.

Hi Master, we intend to move in on 21 Dec but seem like above date and your date are totally different results. Explained in my auspicious dates report: How is our Auspicious Dates Analysed? Please be advised that our Auspicious Dates are choosen based on the following factors:- Key Alamac influence - is considered (ie whether day clashes / harms / punishes with the current year). Note: This isn't the most important influence as this only denotes a generate day's influence. ie even if the day itself is good or bad it does not mean that everyone on this planet will enjoy the same auspicious or inauspicious influence. ie tung shu/alamac day is inauspicious Wood Rat day, but if the person is Strong Water person, this day benefit that person a lot more. Suitability to Ba Zi - Whether the day is suitable to the ba zi is very important, as a inauspicious Tung Shu / Alamac date does not mean it won't benefit the person. Combinations or Clashes to Ba Zi - Whether the day is suitable to the ba zi is very important, as a inauspicious Tung Shu / Alamac date does not mean it won't benefit the person. Special Significance - Whether the day is like Qing Ming etc. Most people choosing wedding dates would not want to marry in Qing Ming month. Overall Analysis - Suitability to ba zi of one or two person, whether any clashes, any overall significance plus finally tung shui/alamac influence. Often it is very hard to find one that can fix all factors, so as long as most influence are considered auspicious, that is a good day for you. Because our dates considers the above factors, as such the dates analysed are extremely personalised to individual person(s) as it considers the individual Ba Zi. This means the dates are your very own individual good or bad dates. As such, no one/two person(s) will have the same good or bad dates. As such, the dates analysed for you will not necessary be similiar to a general Tung Shu forecast which usually does not consider the individual's bazi. Therefore, even if the Tung Shu forecast says that it is a good day, but if your own bazi clashes with the day, it may not be as good as a less auspicious Tung Shu date but more suitable or does not clash with your bazi. This holds true for wedding dates, move-in dates and dates for any auspicious events.

Source & Credit With the new flat classification framework, BTO projects are now categorised as Standard, Plus, and Prime flats based on their locational attributes, offering housing options for different budgets and needs. Plus and Prime flats would naturally command higher market values, given their more favourable locational attributes. To keep them affordable, Plus and Prime flats will be priced with additional subsidies, on top of the significant market discounts that are applied to all BTO flats. To ensure a fair system of subsidies for all buyers, buyers of Plus and Prime flats will be required to return a percentage of the resale price or valuation of the flat (whichever is higher) when they sell their flat in future. Plus and Prime flats will also come with tighter resale and rental conditions, such as a 10-year Minimum Occupation Period (MOP), to support genuine owner-occupation needs. These additional measures will benefit current flat buyers, and future generations buying from the resale market.
