myfs_135065
Hello, when we bought the apartment the staircase was also included thus we placed the maindoor on the third step of the stairs to gain space. Is this very bad for the fengshui and is there anyway to neutralise this effect? The staircase is made of two U shaped ( we are on 2 levels) very well lit cos there is a big window. I've read that window facing maindoor is bad for chi so I keep it closed all the time. Please advise.Grace
Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 31, 2008 Staff Share Posted August 31, 2008 1. There are two concepts under Feng Shui:1.1 Symbolism and1.2 Flow of qi.2. Symbolism in Feng ShuiThe main door is considered as the mouth of the house. (An important "organ". And from the main door, if one sees the staircase, it symbolises "wealth flowing down from the staircase". Some homes have a drainage pipe and when we open the door (to look out) one should not immediately see such things.3. Flow of qiMain door facing the staircase, may inadvertently "disturb" the proper flow of qi.4. Thus, often, the most common method is to install a partition (or display wall) such that the staircase is not seen from the main door. (Sorry based on your description, cannot really understand the real picture). 5. Closing the main door - it depends! For example, if the main door has the auspicious say double #8's. Then it is always good to have qi circulating from the main door into the home. As this qi is considered as "good qi". myfs_135065
thanks for your quick reply. However you've not got the gist of my problem. I can't install a partition, the main door is on the third step of the staircase, that means once I open the door I step onto the steps to go into the house. Is there any other wayto neutralise besideshaving apartition?
Staff Cecil Lee Posted September 2, 2008 Staff Share Posted September 2, 2008 Sorry without a simple sketch, I really cannot figure nor comment further. As the earlier description is totally unclear.
