myfs_133831
I have recently purchased a house. The former seller is a fengshui practioner. I am a little surprised that he has hung 6 coins secured by a red string above my back gate. This is just outside and directly above the back gate. I understand that this represents wealth going out since the coins are meant to bring in wealth and the back gate is where it goes out. Is this correct or there are other fengshui implications? Please advice. Thank you.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 15, 2009 Staff Share Posted February 15, 2009 1. In my opinion, for a newbie to Feng Shui, one may not understand the implication.2. Usually, the placement of the six coins is meant more as a "cure" than your literal translation of placing coins at the back of the home thus leaking wealth away.3. IN GENERAL, it is common for Feng Shui practitioners to draw up a chart of a home. For example, each of us have our own date and time that we are born. And a home also has a birth-chart.4. Thus this home birth-chart is popularly based on what is known as "Flying Star - Compass School Feng Shui'.Frankly, please don't ask me to explain what is Flying Star or Compass School. One has to do more research or use the SEARCH button.5. Most likely, your seller-practitioner had found some "inauspicious" Flying Star "numbers" at the back of the home. And that is the reason why he/she had hang a string of 6 coins tied or strung with red string.6. This is because the number SIX represents BIG METAL. And metal is used as one of the common cures for some imbalances in a home.7. As I mentioned, if the above sounds Greek or Latin, then either try to find out more or just (Full stop). 8. In summary, the practitioner used the 6 coins with red string as a symbolic cure to balance the back door area.. not so much as what you had literally felt odd about it.9. Often, forre-sale flat, a good Feng Shui practitioner will help to balance a home e.g. thru colour schemes thus making it transparent that the home has been Feng Shuied before. 10. There are other terms and their significance e.g. a set of 3 coins... and more.....
