myfs_138474
In the United States, most graves for husband and wife are underground and one on top of the other. Is this type of grave ok?
Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 28, 2009 Staff Share Posted February 28, 2009 1. I believe you are referring to urns (ashes in urns) and not coffins stacked on top of each other.2. In Asia, it is very common for our urns to be housed under several levels some as high as 10 or more levels, high.
myfs_138474
Thank you Master Lee for your reply. The underground graves in the U.S. are built with 2 concrete vaults, one on top of the other. They are usually sold for husband and wife use. The casket or coffin of the spouse who dies first is placed in the lower concrete vault and closed bycovering the topwith a horizontal concrete slab. The casket or coffin of the spouse who dies next is placed on top of the concrete slab that covered the lower concrete vault. This top vault is closed by covering it with a concrete slab. The hole on the ground is then covered with soil and grass is then planted on the surface. In efffect, the 2 caskets or coffins are positioned on 2 levels, the first one in the lower vault and the second coffin on the upper vault. Is this way of positioning the coffins ok?
