Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 23, 2009 Staff Share Posted July 23, 2009 1. When trying to select a new apartment in a condo; try to remember to avoid selecting units that are "suspect" to be in close proximity to the club house's roofing. 2. Especially if the club house is "rounded" and often, the club house would have trellises that "shoots" out spikes like this recently TOP condominium at Carabelle. 3. The saying goes: "A picture tells a thousand words".. Please go thru the various pictures and illustrations. 4. In this development, I have seen the trellis (acting as spikes) does slice into the open windows of the ground floor apartments. It may be so clear in the picture as the pictures are taken from lower ground upwards. So the whole situation will not be so clear in the picture. 5. The concept "If it cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a threat applies." But for practical reasons, day curtain may be effective. As we are "talking" about the living room balcony. Who in the world always closes the balcony window all the time or draw the day curtains fully? This is not practical. 6. The last resort is to hang a six hollow rod wind chime to deflect the sha qi from an opening e.g. the living room facade. For individual bedrooms, it is more practical to draw down the day curtain whenever possible. 7. The trellis "spikes" definitely will impact on Block 65 stack 29. It will also impact on stack 28. 8. At the other end; as Block 51 is quite a distance away, stacks 01 and 02 will not be attacked by this poison trellis given that it is further away. Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 23, 2009 Staff Share Posted July 23, 2009 1. Please see attachment. 2. From the picture, you can even see the shadow of the trellise that resembles spikes radiating out of the club house roof. It happens to slice into Stacks 28 and 29. 3. I have re-attached the site map and amended it in purple. As the stacks should be 28 and 29 and not 26 and 29.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted January 1, 2011 Staff Share Posted January 1, 2011 Treelodge, Punggol is Singapore's first publich housing (HDB) project witht the GREEN MARK Platinum award. This built-to-order HDB eco-precint launched in March 2007 has just TOP.At the common-ground; although it has a "snaking" trellis; the trellis does not seem to be pointed towards any of the flats. As the trellis are pointed below any dwelling (the dwellings are at level 2).In addition, even if the trellis spokes does point any any windows (if any); in some of the photos; the creepers have already began to cover these spokes very well. In the future, the creeps would act as a natural canopy in an eco-friendly way. Quote On 7/23/2009 5:28:36 PM, Anonymous wrote:1. Please see attachment.2. Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 2, 2011 Staff Share Posted August 2, 2011 There are many trellises around the newly TOP Livia condo @ Pasir Ris Grove...Some of these trellis "spikes" are aimed towards the ground floor units of CERTAIN units. However, most of these trellis are fortunately.. too far away... Quote On 1/1/2011 10:42:13 AM, Anonymous wrote:More photos.. the trellis ain't nothreat, here. Staff Cecil Lee Posted December 7, 2011 Staff Share Posted December 7, 2011 Although the "spikes" are encased within a metal frame; try to avoid purchasinga resale unit if the metal horizontal frame cuts or "slice" into the unit's balcony or window(s) Quote On 8/2/2011 9:17:48 PM, Anonymous wrote:There are many trellises around thenewly TOP Livia condo @ Pasir RisGrove...Some of these trellis "spikes"are aimed towards the ground floor unitsof CERTAIN units.
