Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 17, 2009 Staff Share Posted August 17, 2009 1. Yeah, hammering 3 nails isas what you had mentioned; not the norm. Or if I can be frank enough "weird".2. Firstly, from a commonsense approach:needs lots ofstrength and often even hammering nails into wood is hard enough not to say hammering nails into the walls.3. Symbolically, it may even be a double edgedsword: beforemoving into a new home: itmay even beconsidered inauspicious todriving three nails into one's home.Anonymous wrote:We were told that renovating the house on the 7thmonth is not auspicious and therefore our fengshui consultanttold us to hammer 3 nailson the wall near the window. 4. As youhad mentioned, if it seems odd to you; don't do it. 5. Contrary to popular myths or beliefs: in fact, the 7th month to some and on many days of the 7th month are auspcious days. Just that the popular belief is that everyone tries to play safe and try to avoid many things or activities in the 7th month.6. On the extreme end of the spectrum; to play safe, so long as one does not move in during the 7th month; this would be acceptable.7. In the past, due to circumstances like yours: real need to start renovations on the 7th month - this has been done by many others before. Therefore, as a consolation, you are not the first nor going to be the last person to so.8. Thus within our history, if one cannot symbolically start renovations before the 7th month, could "hand ownership" to the renovation contractors to start work ... this has been done .. by many others also in the past. 9. What you can logically do is: if you are getting ownership of the home during the 7th month; "hand the property to the contractor". For example, if you don't intend to change locks; (and if the home is vacant) ask or usually the contractor would install a "bicycle chain" and or bring his chain and lock. Let the contractor start renovations... 10. What is more important is that you move-in, later after the 7th month.11. Yeah.. my toes are laughing at the 3 nail thing.... might as well bring along a jack-hammer on loan from those constructing roads....
myfs_140579
Dear Master,I brought a resale HDB flat recently, the renovation has to becommerce on the 7mth of the chinese calender due to the administation timing of transfering the ownership. We were told that renovating the house on the 7thmonth is not auspicious and therefore our fengshui consultanttold us to hammer 3 nailson the wall near the window. We are confuse on the above 2 points and hope to seek your advice, 1) Is it true that renovating the flat during the 7mth is not auspicicious?2) For ground breaking, I have never heard of hammering a nail to the wall.
