myfs_134991
hi,my ba zi report advised that my most unfavourable element is fire, and hence avoid red color.i would like to know if this applies to physical heat/fire as well. I'm quite keen to try out heat massages, like saunas, spas, and those far infra-red theraphy which has many proven medical benefits. My worry is that because of my Bazi, these aredetrimental to my health instead.thanks in advance
Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 17, 2009 Staff Share Posted August 17, 2009 1. Frankly, this should not be taken out of context. 2. For example, it is more evident that it is applied in relation to things like your earth luck or Feng Shui. This is why, many practitioners of ba zi will ask you to try to harmonize your ba zi element to e.g. your bedroom - colours etc...3. The Ba zi is based on the five elements concept. And the five elements comprise of : Earth - Metal - Water - Wood and Fire. And even in a "normal" home, we often scan a room and can see all five of these elements within sight of our eyes in a home. Thus we should not go to the extreme and individually - this cannot that cannot etc...4. Imagine this extreme: all Singapore males have to be drafted into military. And what happens if a male child is considered as a "Strong Wood" element?5. Can we write to the ministry of defense and use this argument? Father of son (going to be drafted into the army "As my child is a strong wood person; he cannot wear Green army uniform. As green represents wood. And too much wood is no good for him" General of thearmy " Yes, we can dress your son in RED, and during wartime, he will be "lighted" up like a Christmas tree! If there is a war, you are sending your son faster to his grave! A sniper will aim for him, first!"General of the army "Tell you what - originally, he was to serve in my ministry in the comfort of my reseach lab; to design new aids for people on the ground. But since he is unable to wear green; I have decided to make him a Singapore commando! Although he will be wearing green uniform - at least, his beret is RED!" 6. The next thing you know; he and the father may be thrown into detention centre!7. Thus applying ba zi elements is both commonsense and based on practical approach towards life. myfs_134991
Dear master, thanks for your adviselet's see if I understand it...the application of feng shui should not go against common sense which "de-harmonises" the person from its environment, like wearing a red army uniform in the battle field.instead, one should continue to wear the standard green uniform, and seek to re-achieve harmony by offsetingthe extraeffects in other ways. Your general's suggestion on being a commando with a red beret, might actually be a good idea.If i take this an apply to my situation...i'm a strong yin Fire Horse, with earth and water as my favourable elementsand fire and wood most unfavourable.Does that mean I should drink sufficient water to offset the extra fire from the massage/spa equipment?Or am I being too stubborn, seeking to do something that's does not really have much effect? Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 17, 2009 Staff Share Posted August 17, 2009 1. The field of geomancy extends from birth to death. 2. What you had being very concerned with the balance of elements - "should" have been taken care off immediately after birth - prior to naming of a Chinese child. 3. For example, in many instances; a grand-father or parent - may approach a geomancer to draw up a new born's ba zi chart. Please see attachment. 4. Under this example: please refer to Page 3 of 14, you will notice the following:- " Your Five Element Breakdown:" 1 Extremely Weak Water = 1%1 Weakest Wood= 3%0 Weak Fire = 0%9 Strongest Earth = 86%1 Strong Metal = 7% 5. Chinese are the only culture in the world that seeks the advice of a geomancy to assist in selecting a good / auspicious name for a child. 6. The Chinese can do it as all Chinese characters (words) can be identified to any of the five elements. Thus in this example, this child is considered as having too much earth. 7. Thus, his name MUST not contain any mandarin characters associated with earth. His name would be properly evaluated and most probably several names would be selected. For example, his name may lack water and wood and since wood helps to destroy or reduce his strong earth, a name with such an association would be good. 8. Therefore, by right your fears would have been taken into consideration just after birth! By having a balanced name, it is considered far better than the not so sound concept of drinking more water because one is lacking water. But rather, the name would include water element in it. 9. Is'nt this a better or cleaner system than to wrongly self-medicate? 10. For example, what happens if a person has earth element = 0% Does he need to go to his front yard and pick up dirt or earth and eat them? We cannot therefore feel that just because we lack earth, we have to swallow earth or stones etc.... There is no logic, here. 11. I won't want to be lacking "metal". Imagine if I were to be lacking metal, I won't want to end up like dracula... As we all know.. blood contains iron. I can't be going around asking to drink blood. Or eating metal fillings rite? 12. What happens if one lacks wood? Do we have to approach all trees and start to bite on the bark of trees? Worse, if it is in the desert.. I won't want to bite on cactus tree! Yucks! Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 17, 2009 Staff Share Posted August 17, 2009 1. Further to what I had mentioned, some Chinese may not be aware that in the past, there was a system with regards to name selection. 2. Take my actual Chinese name. Please see attachment:- 3. Under number 1: this is my surname : Lee or Li4.1 Under number 2: all my brothers and cousins of the same generation share this middle name: Han. Therefore, so long as there is a male person - brother or even half-brother or cousins: we all share this same name. 4.2 Majority of Chinese names have: 1 , 2 and 3 characters. And while my grand father choose to name us under Para 4.1 or it is known as a "marker" to identify my (male) generation, there are other familys that name all males from the same generation under marking 3. Instead of 2. 4.3 For example: This family has the surname Tan. And all brothers, half-brothers and cousins of the generation. Their names may be:- Tan Ah KowTan Ah TeckTan Ah TeeTan Ah BahTan Ah Choy or Tan Kow AhTan Teck AhTan Tee AhTan Bah AhTan Choy Ah Where surname = Tan. And all brothers, cousins and half-brothers share the same "Ah" in their name. When these generation have their own children, they are suppose to start from a new second or third name. Thus all male child of all the above persons may have:- Tan Hui TeckTan Hui BeeTan Hui ErTan Hui BlurTan Hui Har or Tan Teck HuiTan Bee HuiTan Er HuiTan Blur HuiTan Har Hui Thus, all those belonging to this "next generation" would share the same character Hui under their generation. 5. Thus whether our second character or third character is used as a marker to that generation, there is no issue. 6. Surname cannot be changed for male and if the second (or third character) name is compulsory, then in my case, the last number 3 is used to balance the elements in the name. 7. For example, as I was found to have a balanced ba zi chart, for those who can understand Mandarin character would see that the name implies "centre" or balance. 8. One of my brothers was found to "lack water" element. Thus instead of forcing him to drink water every day; his name has a "water" = "Shui" as the last character of his him. 9. The morale of the story is if lack water : Huh? What did you say again? Need to drink 5 gallons of water a day? Are you looney?
