Baby with Compatible Horoscope

Hi,

Will like to seek advice on which is a better year to have a baby who will be compatible with the Family. I am a dragon born in 1976, while my husband is a tiger born in 1974 and my boy is a rat born in 2008. Thinking of having a 2nd child in the year of dragon (2012) but read that dragon and dragon might not be compatible. Is that generally true? Will a baby rabbit be better then? Thanks in advance!

These are some considerations:-

1. Many donkey years ago; especially from 1980's and earlier; the rave was the use of or general association of using the Chinese Horoscope or also known as Chinese Astrology or the Chinese 12 zodiac signs.

2. Don't get me wrong, this is still GENERALLY used today. However, Chinese horoscope or Chinese Astrology takes into consideration a common denominator: solely on one's YEAR of birth.

3. Thus as you had mentioned, your husband is born in the year of the tiger.

5. You can actually explore a certain year; check how compatible an animal sign is to another animal sign.

Even for a simplistic model such as the Chinese zodiac sign; there are various types of YEAR baby rabbit:-

16 Feb 1999 to 4 Feb 2000 = Earth rabbit
3 Feb 2011 to 22 Jan 2012 = Metal rabbit

Thus in this simple illustration, there is a world of difference in character and even suitability if we want to compare the year of birth with yours or your husband's say Year of birth.

and this not the end of the story! For example if a baby is born at a certain time of a specific day e.g.

Thursday 24 December Year X, some hours; the final result is that the child may from strong wood become WEAK wood

21. In the above (rough example) every "miserable" 10 days, there is a dffierent element and the strength of the element depends on the hour of birth.

22. Even those who try to choose a C - section date but if the operation hours is missed - there is a lot of difference in the child's element: either strong wood or suddenly become weak wood.

23. Thus the morale of this story: Like the British always say If you are keen or yearn for a child or many children; just like NIKE advertisement " BLOODY DO IT". For example even if the year the child is born is the rabbit year; so what; his ba zi DEPENDS on the DAY of birth! Just go ahead - married properly and go produce a baby....

Further to what I had mentioned:-

1. Why can we use the Chinese zodiac or Chinese horoscope to find out if the child is compatible to us (husband and wife?)

One can do so. But, this considered too general in modern times. Especially before 1980's what was available to most common people are books on Chinese Horoscopes (Zodiac signs). And even to the wider Chinese public; this is one of the most common and easiest way to make sense of compatiblity.

2. When do we celebrate our birthDAY?

Just because each of us was born in a specific year; we don't celebrate our birthday on the "1st" day of the new year. But rather we celebrate our birthday on an actual day.

For example: just because "New year" has arrived; be it the lunar or western (julian calendar) new year has arrived; we don't celebrate our birthday on say 1 January 2010. Unless we are born on that day several years back.

If a person is born on 20 November 1980; it would be more meaningful to celebrate one's birthday on that day. If not, also why call it birthDAY? Should'nt we call it OUR birthYEAR?

3. Same thing. For ba zi analysis; the DAY of birth determines our element e.g. wood element and other ba zi analysis will then derive whether we are either a strong wood or a weak wood.

4. In my opinion, this is another logical way of understanding why certain day is used vs being "slotted" into a specific year.

Yes, this is very wise indeed!

More importantly, under the ba zi; when it refers to "wealth"; usually, the reference is that in many instances, our wealth is actually leaving behind a legacy of children....
