Staff Cecil Lee Posted April 26, 2010 Staff Share Posted April 26, 2010 1. For a long, long time, this condo is totally different from so many conventional condos we have seen. 2. The first clue given is via the name of this condo: " interlace". Blocks of condo units are truly interlaced with each other.. 3. Just peek at the attached sitemap(s) and you will understand that it is totally different from all others that we had seen? 4. How different is different? 4.1 Traditional blocks of apartments (or stacks) are built from foundation-up. 4.2 However, this development is totally different. There are the base blocks. And each of the "upper" block is stacked at an angle above two base blocks. (If you still cannot figure out what I said ... cannot blame you.. such layout is hard to describe). 4.3. And if one were to go for amanagement course on communication; try touse this as a case study. 4.4. Here,if we play the"communication channel" game; of Person A describing thiscondo building layout to Person B; B to C; C to D... I figure out that just the first communication from A to B.. will totally distort the description of this condo! 4.5. You see how "potent" thisuniquesiteplan with it's condo units becomes? 5.In fact, (other than modern construction techniques and approval by structureengineers); if one were to construct such a development in the 1800's or earlier... one may even be placed in jail! 6. Under one fundamental Feng Shui concept was the fact that a "building" should be on a solid foundation - but not on "stilts" ora slab of horizontal building stacked ontotwoblocks and elevated without further support on other areas i.e. a hollow below it. 7. We have to accept that we are in modern times.. and not in the past. Go to China: Beijing and Shanghai and many of the huge towers don't follow traditional Feng Shui "safe" designs. 8. One good plus point for such a development is thatthis development has nearly or all the different 15 Flying Star facing directions! 9. In addition, the entire development can be very airy as there are lots of holes for air to flow-in or out of the development. Of course, point blocks like those traditional HDB 5 room point blocks can offer the same "airy" feature without the controversy. 10.With strict building codes; I am sure that these buildings are pretty safe.. especially those who intend to buy units thathave hollow "bottoms". 11. But of course, if one meets a traditionalist or a Geomancer that have a myopic view; they will often tell you: inauspicious! don't buy... 12.Given this situation; the controvesy of having "little or no support" below the building... should be the main topic of discussion... or even concern by many who are or may be considering buying or even renting a unit there! 13. The problem with many of us is that; whenever we receive comments e.g. from relatives or friends: "it is inauspicious to have a void below your unit i.e. no support" many of us, suddenly feel - not so good... about the development. 14. In my opinion; this "no support" below one's proposed unit... may eventually dampen the sale of such units in this development. As some Geomancers who advise their clients may have doubts on this issue. 15. I feel that for such a development, the rich and poor divide in this condo can range significantly from one unit to the other... 16. The developers of this development is surely the boldest so far... in a traditional conservative "Feng Shui" that we have in Singapore. 17. In fact, for the last two years; I have seen many totally "thrown away Feng Shui" type of conceptsput up for Office layouts of several leadingbusiness such as those in the Creative and Creative Internet companies. Or else, it could be that I am now 50 years old and... the world has passed by so quickly... withor without the likes of Michael Jackson's music. I always addOne moreyear to mine ... whenIthink of him (his birthday that is). Staff Cecil Lee Posted October 18, 2013 Staff Share Posted October 18, 2013 Truly, one of a kind design in Singapore.Overall, in terms of qi flow, because of the interlace, it does help to have qi flow all round the entire estate. Thus, no single block has more or less air (qi flow). Which is a good thing. Quote On 4/26/2010 9:36:59 PM, Anonymous wrote:1. Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 1, 2018 Author Staff Share Posted March 1, 2018 Did you know that in 1966, Depot Road used to be further North of The Interlace?
