Hi Cecil,
We have recently bought a condo unit. The main door (facing North when we stand at the entrance looking outwards) is facing the balcony windows directly, and looking into the dining and living room. The main door is sitting on the North west sector of the house and that happens to be both my husband and my disaster sector, my son's irritation sector and my daughter's death sector. We were advised that the front door should be closed at all times when not in use. I heard that we can place a semi-circular floor mat at the entrance of the door. Any idea where we can get such floor mat?
We are thinking of doing up a full-height shoe cabinet directly facing the main door. If not, maybe a screen wall, with the objective of blocking the view from outside to the dining and living room area. In that case, can we have ceiling fans since the blades would not be able to be seen from the main entrance? Is that advisable?
Looking forward to your valuable advice. Thanks.
Rgds

In a condo; majority of the time I see more of residents closing their doors shut more than leaving them open all the time. This is especially for those units where the owners did not install additional grille gates outside their main entrance doors.
In Feng Shui; usually a "better" practise has to do with checking the Flying Star numbers at the main entrance area. For example if the flying star numbers at the main entrance looks like MS#8 with say WS#8; then on the contrary, opening the main door often to allow good qi to flow in is a better option. As looking at it from a Flying Star or time dimension is much better than taking the Eight House sector influence e.g. NW is your family's not so good sector.

These are some considerations for placing a screen or partition:-
1. If there is a corridor leading towards the bedrooms and/or shared toilet; then the edge of the partition should not slice into the corridor passage-way.
2. A partition need not be air-tight
3. If possible the side of the partition facing the main door should not have highly reflective surface. For example, for some when we open the main door; one's reflection should preferably not be seen.
4. A solid partition is preferred instead of those e.g. 4 pieces or 4 seasons type of partition that needs to be folded in a W position. When there are strong winds, such partitions may collapse and cause hurt.
5. If a partition is installed; sure a ceiling can may be considered.
