I like help on a decent floor plan for my rect. cabin

Recommended Posts

I'm building a long rectangular cabin (16'X44') and I'm wondering what a good room layout for it would be... I'm a newbie to feng shui but I need to get an idea of a decent floor plan fairly quickly. If anyone can throw me any hints about long houses of this dimension and possible layouts please respond. Also, If anyone can point me in a direction where I could learn more about room layouts for that size house I'd be greatful. Thank you.... I should add that this would be a primary residence. Two adults and two children with possibly a loft. I'm planning on building decks and a porch as well. Thank you. P.S. I'm not looking for where to put my furniture yet, just where to build the rooms.

Dear Nare,
There is a short write-up on size at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm
But the main consideration under Feng Shui for a new rectangular cabin are:-
1. Do not locate the toilet in the centre of the house.
2. Where possible, keep the cabin " rectangular " i.e. try not to have
protrusion or a missing corner. You can find out more about this at
http://www.geomancy.net/fs/building.htm.
3. One best way is to use the Free Feng Shui tool " Eight House Theory " to
find you and your family's template. Here you can then look at which is your
best door direction(s), bedroom and living room and where feasible, plan
your house layout to suit your family members. This step is more important
in Feng Shui than say the measurement of house.
