unknown
Hi CecilIs it alright to place a water feature facing the outside of the main entrance? If so, what kind of water feature is best or appropriate? Thanks.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted December 30, 2011 Staff Share Posted December 30, 2011 These are some considerations:1. From a Shapes and Forms point of view; the main purpose of having a water position is that nothing else can often be built above the water position. Thus giving clear space.2. Here, if it is the main entrance area, it could imply that there is a "bright" hall effect versus"clutter". Even a tree at the frontage would often cast a shadow.3. However, if one knows the exact star(s) of the Flying Stars kind; at the frontage, then could use it to guauge what stars are at the main entrance. For example, after Chinese New Year, the annual #8 star is at West. Thus if the frontage is located at west; then a water position, there is fine or OK.4. Do take note that a water position at the wrong location can often be detrimental. 5. What makes a good water feature: http://fountain.geomancy.net Read Para 2.1. to 2.12. What if I place the water feature at the SW location of the house, facing directly the outside of the main entrance which isthe NW location of the house? Staff Cecil Lee Posted December 31, 2011 Staff Share Posted December 31, 2011 1. In general, based on the general concept of water in Feng Shui; for majority of homes other than those that have been determined to have UP mountain (or frontage having mountain position);2. Generally, water feature at most sites and home's frontage are generally acceptable.3. The only concern in water Feng Shui principles is the difference between digging a hole to place water e.g. a dug up area in the garden to place a pond. Here, if there is a mountain star #8 at the sector; this is very inauspicious; as it is like digging a hole; place water to DROWN the mountain. 4. Generally, the safest bet if one is igorant of Flying Star numbers is to simply install a water position above ground.5. From now till 2023, of course SW is the indirect water spirit location. And if this site is located at the SW is advantages to have a water position at that space.6. But, it seems that you are playing with language. If I get it right from you; you say that the sector is NW and within that sector, you are placing a water position at SW. This is like a wishy-washy kind of thing. Especially if the compound is small; whatever you want to call the sector, it is in my opinion, still the NW sector. 7. As I mentioned, so long as a water position above ground (for those who do not do further investigations) may be acceptable.8. For trial and error Feng Shui; the main recourse is based on this concept:- The Customer Engineer Concept At best cross your fingers and don't do any other enhancements and wait see .... humpty dumpty sat on the wall; hopefully, he does not have a fall..... sort of thing...sitting on the fence....9. *Jokes* aside (refering to Para 8); the safest bet is to make sure that the water position has all the FIVE elements as laid down under the guildelines given under Para 2.1 to 2.12 of this url: http://fountain.geomancy.net 10. A water feature with all five elements is considered as "balanced" system. Much like The Dog Whisperer: Cesar Millan who often tries to help owners achieve having a "balanced dog". Got it? Get it?
