hcherbal
Thank You in advance! Our Problem: There is no way for us to position our bed in our new home where the head of the bead will not be against a wall with a window in it. The layout: The room is rectangular (basically), with the east wall being closet doors (the bifold type), the west wall having an entrance (with no door) to a small hallway that leads to stairs on the north end and a door to the bathroom in the center of the west wall, and the north and south walls have windows of the same size (4 ft X 4ft) at about 2 1/2 feet off the floor. The ceiling is vaulted, with the peak running east west and approx 11 feet high. Our Solutions: We will somehow create a false ceiling for our bed (whether it be fabric suspended from the ceiling or a 'poster' bed with a fabric 'roof', but we do not know how to position our bed around the windows. There is not room to set it diagonally in a corner, so it must go on a window wall. Should we use a bed with a very substantial headboard (ie - with thick, solid wood or metal) or should we put our bed directly on the floor (like a japanese tatami mat or futon). Our Information: My husband, being born on Dec 1 1977, is a southwest; I, being born on March 29, 1976 am a south.Of possible interest: there will be an overhead ceiling fan and light and the floor will be a woven seagrass carpet, we believe we will hang a curtain in the entryway to the room, but are not positive. I can email a layout if you are interested.color>Thanks and Peace to you, Beth
Staff Cecil Lee Posted November 23, 1999 Staff Share Posted November 23, 1999 Dear Berth,It is best to attach a graphic file under the conference: " Conference for Attaching Layout " as this is easier to look and understand your situation.By the way, you mentioned that the `west' wall has an entrance but no doors. Does it mean that your bedroom does not have any doors. Thanks and looking forward to your layout sketch of the bedroom.Cecil Quote On 11/22/99 1:35:19 AM, Anonymous wrote:Thank You in advance! Our Problem: There is no wayfor us to position our bed inour new home where the head ofthe bead will not be against awall with a window in it.The layout: The room isrectangular (basically), withthe east wall being closetdoors (the bifold type), thewest wall having an entrance(with no door) to a smallhallway that leads to stairson the north end and a door tothe bathroom in the center ofthe west wall, and the northand south walls have windowsof the same size (4 ft X 4ft)at about 2 1/2 feet off thefloor.
