Cecihaiek
Hi Cecil,I really appreciate the work you are doing! It's very helpful!I have one question:What can I do if I have two bathrooms in the entrance, one on the first floor and the other one on top, in the second floor. I would not like to put a mirror on the door.Thanks.
Administrator
Dear Cecilia,Thanks for your words of encouragements.Hope you can elaborate where exactly is the two bathrooms "in the entrance".I do hope that it is not next to the main entrance as this is considered`inauspcious' in Feng Shui. You mentioned that you would not like to put a mirror on the door. Can youalso elaborate on this as I am not sure what you mean. Oops! Sorry forasking too many questions!Warmest Regards,Cecil-----Original Message----- Quote From: "Cecilia Haiek" This message is sent from "free-advice" Mailing List.>What can I do if Ihave two bathrooms in the entrance, one on the first floor and the other oneon top, in the second floor. Cecihaiek
Sorry I was not too specific... One bathroom in next to the main entrance and the other one is on the second floor, above the bathroom that is next the main entrance.I've been told that it's good for bathrooms to put a mirror outside the bathroom door because the chi will be distracted and will not enter the bathroom and go away with the toilet's water. (is this correct?) I don't like the idea of hanging a mirror outside the bathroom that is next to the main entrance...Again thanks and I really appreciate what you are doing!Cecilia
Administrator
Dera Cecilia,Thanks for your clarifications. The current consensus amongst many Feng Shui authors is that a `normalmirror' can be used to reflect' ch'i. As for placing a mirror outside thebathroom door, this could be `invented' by someone who feels that the above`theory' would work to reflect ch'i.Personally, like you, I don't like the idea of hanging a mirror outside thebathroom next to the main entrance. For one, it is not auspicious to place amirror in the main entrance area. However, it is acceptable to place mirrors in the dinning room but a FengShui Master would caution: Watch where you are placing it! As a Feng ShuiMaster will say if the location is inauspicous you will have `double' badluck. To side track abit, Chinese dialect group: the Cantonese particularlylike mirrors placed in their dining room. But do take note of this.In your case, it would be advisable to simply close the door - will do.Personally, in my years of doing Feng Shui audits or visiting new showflats, I do not recall anyone placing mirror outside the bathroom door.. andlike you feel quite odd about doing so.Where possible, since the bathroom is next to the main entrance, do check :1. How compatible is the house for you? Use the Eight House Theory.2. If this is one of your auspicous sector, you should try to paint theentrance (walls) either neutral white or the colour of the location. This isto create a more `yang' environment to counter the `yin' (bathrooms areYin). The rationale here is to let in more Yang to `conquerer' Yin.At the same time, for the toilet, keep it bright also. Can you confirm whereis the bathroom door facing? Is it facing `out' to the living room? or itneeds to be accessed from another location e.g. the kitchen. Ideally, thedoor should not face the living room. Does it face the dining room?If you can provide me more details, I see what I can think of ... and ponderover this.3. Which direction is your main entrance facing? And is the toilet on theright or left of it and at which compass direction?Sorry again for asking so many questions!Warmest Regards,Cecil-----Original Message-----From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed>Date: Thursday, February 25, 1999 1:21 PMSubject: Re: Two Bathrooms in entrance Quote From: "Cecilia Haiek" This message is sent from "free-advice" Mailing List.Sorry I was not too specific... Administrator
In addition to the message below, please note that many Feng Shui Mastersfeel that if you are installing mirrors please remember not to install too"short " a mirror such that it cut's off a person's head or when you viewthe mirror, part of your head is missing. This is inauspicious.Do I need a full length mirror? As for the lower part of the body, it is ok if the mirror covers say fromthe shoulder to the head of the body. For example like the bathroom mirror. You do not need to install a full length mirror.-----Original Message-----From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed>Date: Thursday, February 25, 1999 2:27 PMSubject: Re: Two Bathrooms in entrance Quote From: "Cecil Lee" This message is sent from "free-advice" Mailing List. The current consensus amongst many Feng Shui authors is that a `normalmirror' can be used to reflect' ch'i.
