myfs_158646
Hi!Can you please advise if the following bed position is fine? It is a very small apartment with very limited area to place the bed. I wonder if the stove and sink will be harmful to the bed position? If so what should I do?Thank you so much! Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 24, 2014 Staff Share Posted February 24, 2014 There are two considerations, here:1. Common sense2. "The Grandmother story".1. Under common sense, IDEALLY, the stove should not be next to or within the bedroom. This is because of several reasons:1.1. Type of stove. If this is a gas stove. And for any reason; while using the stove; the fire gets extinguished or if the gas valve is not closed properly, then gas can escape and fill the entire bedroom with gas.1.2. If this is not a gas stove e.g. an induction stove or electric stove; then Para 1.1. will not be of a concern.2. Under "the grandmother story"; or sometimes based on symbolism; it is said that if a stove faces the bed. This implies that the person may get illness related to "fever" etc... As mentioned, Para 1.1. is more real then Para 2.3. Ideally, avoid gas-type of stove in the bedroom given that this is a tiny apartment. Then again, I believe, this is quite impossible in the real world or if so, one could easily get out of this predicament.
