Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 17, 2015 Staff Share Posted August 17, 2015 Collapsible Grille gate designthat is both functional and common in the 1950's. But almost died out, today. These collapsible grille gates were used to protect the main doors of homes and used also for shop fronts and even factories.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted September 12, 2015 Staff Share Posted September 12, 2015 Back in the 1950's and 1960's aluminium was rare and very costly. Thus this was the most popular design using the material steel. Quote On 8/17/2015 9:11:23 AM, Anonymous wrote: Collapsible Grille gate designthat is both functional and common in the 1950's. As aluminium was expensive to make in the past. One of the quickest ways to open to any width and quick and easy to lock. Can even add extra padlocks if needed. Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 19, 2019 Author Staff Share Posted July 19, 2019 Another one... the owner most likely repainted it together with the inner collapsible door many years later.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted October 5, 2019 Author Staff Share Posted October 5, 2019 Again another traditional collapsible gate.. Slightly newer around 1970’s with metal rods encased by hollow cosmetic aluminium tubes... as aluminium does not rust. And can still maintain it's lustre if proper care is taken of it. This grille is around 50 plus years or more.. and at a glance still looks acceptable.
