Dear Cecil,
1. How do we determine the facing direction of a flat?
In fengshui, which directions are good and which are bad?
2. Does the storey of the flat also one of the factor to
determine if the house is auspicious for the couple?
3. What should be done after we have collected key for a new house?
Your advice is greatly appreciate.
Thanks.
Rgds,
Chin

Dear Chew Chin,
For a beginner of Feng Shui, the easiest to `pick' up is the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui and the Compass School: Eight House Theory.
For advanced audits, Flying Star Theory is used to determine the birth chart of the house. Pillars of destiny: element strength and season of influence is used especially to understand a `bigger picture' and to further analyse the various cures/enhancements and its effect on the individual.
For those who do not have the patience or do not want the hassle of reading endlessly about Feng Shui can get a professional help from FS practitioners.

I believe that you are very new to Feng Shui.
It is best to get books on Shapes and Form Feng Shui or go thru the materials at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/theory.htm
You can also generate a free computerised Eight House report at www.geomancy-online.com or http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm to generate a manual report.

There is a Flying Star House Number Feng Shui at www.geomancy-online.com
You are correct. Flying Star Theory takes account only horizontal analysis (8 equal sectors or 9 pie chart sectors).
The Flying Star Number Feng Shui, takes into account the Vertical analysis or house/building more than 1 level high.

You can do your own homework about Feng Shui or get a Feng Shui audit done by a competent FS practitioner.
Once you get your key, determine the amount of renovation work to be carried out. Nearer the time, it is also good to get an auspicious date for the move.
Do remember that Feng Shui is `fast food' where one can within a day, pick up the knowledge.
It also depends on how one wants to be `involved' or non involment with Feng Shui.
Serious students of Feng Shui can take many years of learning, practice and more importantly understanding.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
