At the half-way mark of CNY i.e. 7th day of CNY; many are advised to consume this on that day. Perhaps, due to commercialisation of some sort or other... (Hey! What is Christmas without a Christmas tree and gift exchange? or dinner for two on Valentines day!) Smart fishes have temporarily migrated to Oceans that are furthest away from costal areas where there are a large Chinese population especially Pacific Ocean and South China Sea.. As it was found that only saltwater fish have been found to have lesser bacteria. As compared to harvested or bred varieties of raw freshwater fish which was once the main component of many raw fish ingredients in Singapore.
