Bless
First I would like to thank Cecil Lee and Robert for giving us such a wonderful website in fengshui. I never fail to visit this web page daily. My house has most of its North corner missing. The little part left of it is a bedroom. I cannot extend the corner by putting a mirror in the bedroom. What should I do about it?Also I would like to know more about the tortoise which is supposed to improve our fenshui. Thanks in advance.
Administrator
Dear Bless,Thanks for your kind comments on geomancy.net and are very glad that youfind the forum very useful. Equally, we encourage you to participate andmake this website more interesting. I was so happy to read your advice toone of the users in the forum! What do we consider as a missing corner? If it is more than 1/3 of the corner or 33.3 percent of the corner ismissing.Under Feng Shui, a missing corner at a specific location has a particular`meaning'. If you have the time you may like to review this short write-upat this URL : http://www.geomancy.net/fs/building.htm In this shortwrite-up, a missing corner at the North signify " will meet with accident ".Can I confirm whether are you living in an apartment or a landed property? If it is a landed property, this can easily be corrected by any of thefollowing:-1. If the "cut-out or missing corner" is on the ground floor, do somelandscaping by planting bushes to create an outline of the missingcorner outside of the house.2. It is also good if you can place a lamp post at the edge/corner of thegarden. As for a flat or apartment, other than mirrors, unfortunately there are noknown cures other than the use of mirrors. Frankly, there are no other`effective' cure against this. This is the limitation of `real' Feng Shui other than to keep the place `bright'The tortise:-Overall, I am not sure what you mean here. As there are two main areas withregards to the tortise:-1. The Four Symbolic Animals Principle url:http://www.geomancy.net/fs/four.htmThere is a detailed write-up on the four symbolic animals principlewhere the princple is very simple, for the tortise, it represents `rocksteady' or a `solid backing' or support. The purpose of this principle isthat for a home / office etc... there should be a `solid back' and it isinauspicious to have a water course / canal etc.. behind's one house.Artificial `tortise' behind one's house include a brick wall, a fence withcreepers/ bushes/ plants or simply planting trees.Another important concept here is that the Phoenix or bird should bealways `in front'. What this means is that a bird should be able to flyfreely in an open space. Water is also good at the front (but not stagnantwater). Since there is water at the front, nothing can be built over it sothe space in-front has a good view... this promotes good ch'i.For more information, do go to the above url to read the article.2. Tortise objectsI am not sure if you have read an earlier article at this url :http://www.geomancy.net/fs/tortise.htm The title is " The Lo Shu Square :The legend of the Giant Tortise " If you have not read it, do find out more.In fact, the magic square written on the back of the Lo Shu Square isthe basis of how both the Flying Star Theory (dynamic considerstime dimension) and the Eight House Theory is applied using it.You can also find torises swimming in Chinese Temples as tortiserepresent longevity. But do becareful of rocks with undefined shapes in the garden which mayrepresent `bad influences'. Particulary, if it is shaped with an open mouthaimed at your house.Similiarly, if one places rock tortises in the garden, do not have themwith open mouths unless the open mouths have something in them e.g. a `gemstone' etc... such objects will bring calamity to the people living in thehouse.3. Eight Associations or Eight Asspirations or Life AssociationsUnder this general theory, the career section is considered to be at theNorth. If there are no inauspicious Feng Shui stars e.g. under the FlyingStar theory, some people place living tortise or teripins at either theNorth (water element). If there is a `need' to enhance the wood element atSouth East or East (wood element). An aquarium or tortise is used at theselocations. ( Note: Under the 5 elements concept, Water helps to producesWood). Again, I like to caution that this is a very GENERAL theory of FengShui. Some do not want to rear tortise, so one can also buy paper weights of atortise and if under the Flying Star Theory, there is a mountain star (thecondition is that there must be a solid wall at this location) , one canplace a tortise `paperweight' to represent a `mountain'. Remember the 4symbolic animals theory?Hope the above helps.Cecil-----Original Message-----From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed>Date: Tuesday, March 02, 1999 12:06 AMSubject: Career (North) Corner Missing Quote From: "Bless Lee" This message is sent from "free-advice" Mailing List.First I would like to thank Cecil Lee and Robert for giving us such awonderful website in fengshui. Bless
Thanks for Cecil Lee's prompt reply and Srikanth Mysore advices. I need to rectify that in fact the Eastern corner of my apartment is also missing, thus a protrusion in the NE corner. I wonder is it for better or worse. May I know from Srikanth Mysore if the square table formula can be applied to any other rooms and corners? It is something new to me. Hope to have more information on this. santhu
Sir,I could't contact you immdly as I was on tour.I have been asked by oneour forum member regarding the square table formula and as of my knowledge same is given to your kind persusal and would like to know your comments and advices if any.Normaly if any of the corner is missing the opposite corner is to benoticed.e.g. If north east corner is missing,we may have to check thesouth west corner also.If that is also missed, then there is no need toworry about that,as such missing corners structuraly balaced and thisis applicable to all sort of missing corners. If the missing corner is only at the particular orientation of the site.as the case refered for NORTH EAST, one can calculate the areaof missing by intersecting the axis of all corner directions and atleast 1/10 of that proportionate area to be taken into account for anysquare object {preferably table}and which can be kept in the south west corner.Further forum topic on east corner is also brought by the same member and it is suggested to look the wesetern corner for the protrusion or missing. If it is also missing than no need to worry about missing threatens as this is also well balanced.still it can be worked out better if layout plan, different door orientations, backside building projections, road approaches are furnished.regards.santhu..Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
