1. A rudimentary method is to scan a copy of this area of the layout plan, paste on a card board and cut-out an outline;

2. Next balance it on a nail to locate the centre of gravity.

3. It should most like be around the “red dot” area. 

4. The method I used earlier is called “the eyeball method”.

P.S. Please remember to discount the. Non-living-in area where possible. And yes not everything are missing areas! As can be seen from this case.

One more question for this topic please:

As I understand, we shouldn’t take the balcony into consideration, in placing the centre of this apartment. I want to ask, why is that?

It is not a living-IN area.

And even in recent years, the Singapore government had to regulate how much ratio to floor area the balcony or PES is allowed for each flat.

I have added this details somewhere in this forum. Forgot .. roughly perhaps not exceed 19%? Total floor area.. or thereabouts!

“This is my way or the highway, lah!”

Anyway there is no ruleset on this matter.

Some others may do so, I don’t know… about them.
