Dear Sifu,

Picture is taken from your site for favorable direction of the facing of the house.

If north is the favorable facing of the house, which is the correct direction? is it no 1 (outward facing) or no.2 (inward facing)

And does it matter if thr door is located at the right side or the left side of the house?

Usually, Compass Readings should be taken from the living room looking out of it.  This is known as the frontage of the unit.

In the past, it is simply known as the main or front door also. Thus good to read the above link.

A unit in an apartment…

Advised a client to take the reading from the living room towards the windows; instead of standing inside the front door looking outwards
 

Client wrote: “Please find attached the reverse where the main facing is the front windows. You are correct the front windows are alot brighter then the the main doorway which the corridor is very dim.”
