james quan
Dear Mr Lee,I have just bought an apartment in Singapore on the ground floor of a 4-storey building. The front door faces South-West, and also the swimming pool(which starts and flows apparently from the South to South West.If the South is Fire, will the position of the pool be conflicting to the house? On the left most of the pool, is the children pool. There is a gondola over it that is made of a cross section of wooden strips found in most Balinese resort. From my main door, it looks like they are like planks (about 9) pointing at me. Should I block off with a tree? Or perhaps a mirror? If a mirror is used, will it reflect the good fortune that comes my way?Thank you very much for helping. Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 15, 1999 Staff Share Posted March 15, 1999 Dear James,Thanks for providing a description of your home.Overall, if I get what you wrote correctly, the water is on the `East' side (front) of your home. Are there any windows on this side of the house facing the pool? Quote If the South is Fire, will theposition of the pool beconflicting to the house? If you are applying the 5 elements concept, it would not be the most important principle relating to this situation. The Four Symbolic Animal theory http://www.geomancy.net/fs/four.htm take precedence over this theory. What you have is something like a pool of water which is equivalent of the `Bird' or Red Phoenix of the Four Symbolic Animal Theory where, this is good because normally when there is water on the ground, the `view is unhindered'. I also `face' the same situation as you. I live in a condominium where the house is North to South facing and there is a pool exactly on the South. This is perfectly OK.This follows the Chinese concept called " Ming Tang " where it is considered auspicious to have a pool of water infront of your building. However, the water must never be stagnant water. There is another situation. If you are stand at your main entrance door looking out of your house. If there is a pool of water on the right side of the house, your husband may have wondering eyes or may have an affair! Feng Shui is indeed facinating and we will discuss more of the Dragon Water Classics in the future!Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 3/15/99 6:43:17 PM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Mr Lee,I have just bought anapartment in Singapore on theground floor of a 4-storeybuilding.
