kml1986
Dear Cecil,I was told by older Chinese folks that one should not move house if she is expecting a baby. Why is this and what is the outcome if she's moving to another house while pregnant? Thanks.Regards,Anonymous
Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 28, 2000 Staff Share Posted February 28, 2000 Dear Anon,1. Yes, this is a `strong' Chinese belief.2. It is said that when one is pregnant, one should not move house or even change the bed position or any other furniture in the room.It is said that the consequence is to suffer a `miscarriage'.3. I believe, in the past, there was no electricity and it could be (I am only guessing) that if one changes the position of furniture, and unwittingly, the wife (who is pregnant) may `accidentally ' bump into them or trip over them. Well, I am only guessing here of a `possible' senario.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 2/28/00 3:59:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Cecil,I was told by older Chinesefolks that one should not movehouse if she is expecting ababy.
