Hi,

1. Honestly, I can't accurately assess your true ba zi element without examining your Ba Zi chart without the gender, date and time of birth info.

2. The reason assessments of your true element strength may vary is due to several factors:

2.1. The Ba Zi element is generally determined by the year pillar element, but it is more accurately identified by the day pillar element.

2.2. Some Ba Zi analyses only consider the four main pillars—day, month, year, and hour. However, they often overlook two additional hidden pillars (the House of Life and the House of Conception), which are equally important. Without considering these, it's difficult to calculate the correct number of elements present in the chart.

2.3. Often, practitioners do not accurately account for interactions between the pillars, such as clashes, harms, joins and combinations. Specifically, joins and combinations can sometimes transform an original element into a new one, altering the chart's elemental balance by removing the original element and introducing new ones. This can significantly affect the strength of the five elements in the chart.

2.4. Therefore, without a detailed and comprehensive assessment of the chart, it is common for practitioners to incorrectly determine the True Element. This discrepancy is why one practitioner might say your element is weak, while another might claim it is strong.

2.5. As a result of these inaccuracies, they may also miscalculate the five-element perentage, making it difficult to advise which elements you need more or less of to achieve a perfect balance, with each element ideally at 20%. For example, a Strong Metal can be strong because he have more Earth or more Metal or sometimes an equal amount of birth elements. Without the five-element percentage information, we can't advise you on which elements you need more or less of. For this analysis, you'll need the "Breakdown of the Five Elements Percentage" available in our Ba Zi expert review report, accessible through the link below.

3. To accurately determine your true element strength, you really need to consult the complete Ba Zi chart, like the one provided in our Ba Zi reference report under "Ba Zi Reference Technical Charts & Details." Without this information, it is impossible to accurately evaluate your elemental strengths.

6. Now to answer your this question:-

Quote

I found my bazi strong YIN METAL DM some sifu said STRONG YIN METAL can't have fire in the chart but some said need.can I get your advice on this

6.1. As mentioned earlier, we need the full report first to determine whether you have a weak or strong metal classification.

6.2. If it is confirmed that you are a Strong Metal, your favorable elements will generally be Water, Wood, and Fire by default.

  • Water helps reduce the excess of Strong Metal.
  • Wood weakens the excess Earth that strengthens your Metal.
  • Fire reduces the strength of your Metal.

6.3. These are the default favorable elements. However, the specific element you need more or less of will depend on their percentages. For instance, if Water is at 0%, you will need more Water. If the Water percentage is 40% (>20%), you will need less Water. Therefore, the "Breakdown of Five Elements Percentage" chart mentioned in section 2.5 is crucial for helping you determine the balance of elements you require.

This underscores why the need for more Water, Wood, or Fire is entirely dependent on the actual percentages of these elements. Without this information, it is difficult to determine whether you need more or less of a particular element.

6.4. Similarly, if it is confirmed that you are a Strong Metal type, your unfavorable elements will generally be Earth and Metal by default.

  • Earth produces Metal, making Metal stronger.
  • Metal enhances existing Metal, further strengthening it.

6.5. These are the default unfavorable elements. However, if the Metal element constitutes 40% (>20%) of your five-element composition, you should reduce Metal. Conversely, if the Metal element is at 0%, you may need some Metal, even though it is typically unfavorable. This should only occur when there is already a sufficient presence of Water, Wood, and Metal to balance your five-element percentage. However, you must not add Fire without first introducing sufficient favorable elements, as it could make your Strong Metal too powerful.

7. Consequently, without a comprehensive Ba Zi chart, it is not possible to explain whether you are weak or strong, or to determine which favorable or unfavorable elements you need in greater or lesser amounts. Ultimately, the objective is to achieve a perfectly balanced five-element chart to enhance and optimize your overall luck.

Hope that helps.

I'm sorry, but your information is incorrect.

1. The Yin and Yang aspects in the fundamental birth element do not affect your favorable or unfavorable elements.

1.1. Likewise, Yin does not mean weak, nor does Yang mean strong. Therefore, Yin and Yang do not determine whether you are a weak or strong element.

1.2. Primarily, Yin and Yang help identify whether you are in one of the four states: greater Yin, lesser Yin, greater Yang, or lesser Yang.

1.3. I personally find this information useful for understanding personal characteristics. For example, a Yin type person might be more introverted, while a Yang type person could be more extroverted.

1.4. If a chart has an imbalance of Yin or Yang, those characteristics might shift. Greater Yin and greater Yang often exhibit features of the opposite due to their cyclical nature. Yin charts generally prefer Yang charts for balance, and vice versa.

In short, these are the basic Yin and Yang states, compared to a more detailed understanding based on the balance of the five elements.

2. Whether you are a weak or strong person depends on the five-element percentage in your chart.

2.1. A "weak" person is one where the elements that strengthen you are outnumbered by those that weaken you. For example, for a weak Metal, favorable elements are Earth and Metal, while unfavorable ones are Wood, Fire, and Water. The goal is to enhance the weak Metal with supportive elements.

2.2. A "strong" person is one where the elements that strengthen you outnumber those that weaken you. For instance, a strong Metal benefits from Wood, Fire, and Water, and is weakened by Earth and Metal. The aim is to control the strong Metal with balancing elements.

2.3. In your case, it is clear you are a strong Metal. The total favorable elements (Metal, Earth, Water) comprise 81.8%, which is greater than the unfavorable elements (Fire, Wood, Water) at 66.7%, effectively canceling out Water in the equation.

3. If you don't know the balance of the five-element percentages, the default list of favorable and unfavorable elements usually applies.

3.1. However, to accurately balance your five elements, look at each element’s percentage in the chart. Generally, elements over 20% should not be excessively increased, while those under 20% should be increased.

3.2. By analyzing your favorable elements, you can determine the most and least favorable, as well as the most and least unfavorable elements. This advanced approach helps balance your chart accurately according to specific needs.

3.3. This method can identify special chart types, like "follow the leaders," but those can be confusing as they are based on chart examples and do not address individual needs. Using the five-element balance method clarifies what elements to add or reduce first.

4. Since you are a strong Metal, your favorable elements are Fire, Wood, and Water, while Earth and Metal are unfavorable.

4.1. In your Ba Zi chart, Fire is at 6.1%, below the ideal 20%, so you need more Fire. The five-element percentage determines this need, not Yin and Yang, as previously mentioned.

Wood
1 Weakest
Fire
2 Weak
Earth
1 Strongest
Metal
48.5% 12.1% 6.1% 18.2% 15.2%

As Strong Metal, your favourable elements are Water (48.5%) / Fire (6.1%) / Wood (12.1%).

  • Fire (6.1%) is your most favourable element.
  • Wood (12.1%) is your next favourable element.
  • Water (48.5%) is your least favourable element. As you have a lot of Water, having more won't benefit you any more.

5. Since the Fire element is the most lacking compared to Wood and Water, it becomes your most favorable element. This is how you determine which element you want to have more and which to avoid having more.

6. If you are unsure of the specific five-element percentages, it's generally beneficial to add Wood, Fire, or Water, as these elements can help balance a Strong Metal presence.

7. However, if you know the exact percentages of the five elements, you can fine-tune your strategy. With this knowledge, you might prioritize adding Fire first, followed by Wood. Since your Water element is already at 48.5%, which is significantly higher than the desired 20%, adding more Water would be less effective than focusing on Fire and Wood. This understanding of element percentages enables you to optimize your approach and enhance your luck.

Hope that helps.
