nanbrook
We live in a two story house at the top of a hill and to the left on a cul-de-sac. The front door faces south, and is positioned in the middle of the rectangle shape house. What elements should I use to improve the chi coming into our home? Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 21, 2000 Staff Share Posted March 21, 2000 Dear Nancy,Frankly, it is difficult for me to fully visualise what u mean. If would be nice if you have a sketch or some pictures of it.As you mentioned that your house is on top of a hill, Feng Shui (and `commonsense approach' would suggest that the house is on firm foundations and surroundings do not have soil erosion or protected from soil erosion. At a hill, it is best that there should be `forestation' or plants especially if the house is the top most house.Other than that, it is difficult for me to comment further.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 3/20/00 8:27:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:We live in a two story houseat the top of a hill and tothe left on a cul-de-sac. nanbrook
Dear Cecil: First I would like to thank you for your quick response to my post "Living on a cul-de-sac" dated 3/20/00. As per your answer to my post, attached is a line drawing of the street that I live on. The house just to the right of ours in the drawing is the highest house on the block. And also attached is a picture of our house. As you can see in the picture, there is a gentle grade uphill. As far as "forestation" I placed circles where there are trees on the property. There are 26 in all. that is not counting lower bushes in the front yard or hedges in the backyard. The reason I ask this question is, I was watching a program about Feng Shui and they said that it was not good to live on a dead end street because there is not enough energy flow. I am only beginning to learn about this method of placement so I thought I would start out slow and change a few things and see what changes occur and I thought this would be a good place to start. They said in the program something about placing a wind chime outside by the front door and a mirror above the door or maybe a water fountain. I would like to get your opinion as to weather this would be the right thing to do and an explanation for the reason behind these changes.I hope I haven't taken up much of you time, but I am fascinated by this new method of thinking, and am looking forward to your response as to what changes I should make.Kindest regardsNancy

Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 22, 2000 Staff Share Posted March 22, 2000 Dear Nancy,1. I have looked thru the photo & layout you sent to my email account.2. Overall, your plot of land is not an ideal shape. Units 5402 and 5401 are at a `T' junction and for these two units at the end of the road, preferably the main doors should not be in direct alignment to the road. Your home and the opposite house (5408) plus units 5402 and 5401 are in a configuration "close to" the Yang Zhai Shi Shu where three houses `meet'. This is considered a `bad' layout (not "fatal" but bad) in that it signifies `family will not be rich'.3. The above is based on a three house layout. But with the four house layout, it looks similar to the above. Hopefully, it would not be the same.4. I have seen the picture of your frontage of the house. It pose no problems as the main door is well `hidden' from any poison arrows. Please see below:- Quote On 3/21/00 7:30:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Cecil: First I would like to thankyou for your quick response tomy post "Living on acul-de-sac" dated 3/20/00. Nothing could be worse than doing all the wrong things or spending unnecessary money and this may not bear fruit. It would not be advisable to place a wind chime unless, you personally liked it and not becaues of Feng Shui justification. With your `four house' configuration, more care should be placed in using the wrong Feng Shui.Warmest Regards,Cecil
